I have the DD55, it's good for practice and has good sounds, but the pads are too close together and small. A rack electronic kit feels better to play on.
There's always the same problem with dd-65 videos : we hear the sticks hitting the pads. That makes a weak and cheap sound. The sounds of the DD-65 are very great. It sounds very natural. To avoid bad sounds with your videos, you should plug the drum to your computer while you play and mix the sound track with the video.
And that's exactly what I find with the DD55 too, the close formation of the pads increases ones accuracy but also means you get the ocassional clacking of sticks and the sound of the stick hitting the pad which kind of ruins the illusion a little. It's better if you do what you said or hook them up to an amp or stereo.

hola como estas....definitivamente comprate la que se asemeja mas a la bateria real...pues tienes que hacer el mismo ejercicio que con la real , mientras la DD65...ES MUY PEQUEÑA...y cuando pases a una bateria acustica te va a quedar dificil por el espacio que se maneja......
