Every single time I hear the chant "tell me what a police state looks like" I have to ask the question - Did the cops come to your house to arrest you for your beliefs, or were the cops forced to respond to you breaking the laws that everyone else is forced to abide by. I agree with Occupy's ideals.

This weekend they tried to takeover a vacant building, tore down someone's property in the process, threw dangerous objects at cops, invaded a govt. building after hours, and were surprised when the cops reacted strongly against them.

They picked a fight with the cops and got one, period. Maybe they could focus on actually proposing even ONE solution to all the problems they talk about, rather then just picking fights with people that have better things to do.

However, I have been informed that this is after an initial volley of tear gas by the police, which makes it a bit more of a gray area. I still think the protestors should be wholly non-violent, as seeing them throw things at the police legitimizes the violent police action in the eyes of some of the media.

Occupy wallstreet had marches hundreds times larger than that little protest, but they never used flash bangs or gas on us...maybe the cops try to use as much force as possible in less populated (and noticeable) areas.
