@supercdac1 You should get it within 900 or 800 USD with 18-55mm kit lens, btw if now you are going for this camera, go for canon 600D, it have all specs same but also and tilty swiwly screen, screen that comes out and can be tilted at any angle, thats much of help sometimes. Also price difference would be minor.

@cheeselate No need to worry about it. The clicking noise is just the image stabilization functioning. You can turn it off on the lens and it will stop making the noise. Note however that your videos will be shakier if you don't use a tripod.

@abdullahfailkawi The only thing I see that's better is its articulating screen and manual video mode (which can be solved by installing magic lantern onto the 550D anyway, which makes it 100x better than the 600D default capabilities)

@MichaelDaeche thanks... actually it was pretty much what u see there... I played around with the contrast a bit in photoshop (for the pics in the second half).... I take photos in manual as u can adjust shutterspeed and aperature... another thing is the ISO, as u want to keep it fairly dark so that the sky is still visible, keep the ISO low maybe 200...

@mash012 I normally render to fv4... I can't remember what bitrate I used, I think I set the low parameter to 2,5 and the top to 7or8...

I used the kit lense, cause it has image stabilizer...

You read the manual :). Seriously, it's full of useful stuff. If you want the helpful answer, switch the camera to manual mode (M). The ISO is changed with the ISO button above the on/off switch, the shutter speed is changed by turning the dial between the ISO button and the shutter button, and the aperture is changed by holding down the AV+/- button near the LCD screen and turning the same dial you used for the shutter speed. This and 4,982 other things are explained in the manual.

@TheRealQawser that's right; t2i is the American name for the 550d, although you might find them all over the world. The asian, or at least Japanese name is the EOS Kiss X4. Why they have these different names? - I don't know, probably just marketing. "rebel t2i" is very American... powerful sounding. "550d" sound more logical and technical appealing to Europe and UK more. While "Kiss" is more cute and warm, appealing to Japanese culture perfectly! - I live there just now.

@gelmir4eva you can adjust ISO, shutter speed, fstop... if the ISO is to high it gets grainy 2.. I think for the 550D you can go up to 800 with the ISO and the rest is just playing around with it
