He makes his money from holding illegal raves on his land and had other property seized by the local council after years of failing to comply with court orders about trash and old caravans littering the land.

I'm against horse abuse but since everyone is against the hairy dude, at least note that you don't even know how the paint horse died, his horses are obese, so he obviously doesn't know much about feeding, but how about the laminitis? Should all owners with obese, laminitic horses be prosecuted? Do you people even know exactly what causes laminitis? I'm just saying, take it easy, don't be too quick to judge.

@purosonoracompa Good point. My mare experienced a mild case of laminitis when I tried to breed her. Her hormones got all out of sorts...sometimes things happen, though I'm in no way defending the owner of these horses.

i applaud everything you people do. If only there was action like that here in Spain. But I would say, you should make it clear laminitis is not only caused by over-feeding a horse. There are many other elements that can cause this unnecessary illness. Here in Spain I see many cases of mechanical laminitis, chronic laminitis and laminitis caused by shock from a sudden change in feed from straw to (yes!) pig feed when people want to fatten up their horses in time for feria!

I absolutely applaud Britain/ the British Isles for their Animal Well fair laws and regulations. I wish America was more advanced, but I am glad that horses are not eaten here. I wish people would neuter horses they do not plan to breed.

More need to be done to educate people on the effects of over feeding and/or laminitis, so things don't get to this stage. Be pro-active, education would convey a stronger message than prosecution.
