you said that Republicans needed to drop God from their platform, how can that be possible? It doesn't matter what political party you are affiliated with, but the Constitution should be followed by everyone. Dropping God from the platform seems like disregard for the constitution to me.
God isn't referenced in the constitution.... Even in the preamble.
God is referenced in the Declaration as the Creator - a source of rights by virtue of having created the universe. Other theories on origins were not popular at the time.
Even there, Jefferson recognized "That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men," making clear that governments are created by men to serve men - in direct opposition to Divine Right, claimed by the King, and used to justify Tyranny.
The God, guns and gays thing will never go away. They are wedge issues that surface during every election;the Repub way to get you all riled up so you never realize that if you vote Repub you are voting AGAINST YOUR OWN SELF-INTERESTS!The last thing they want is for u to think about the REAL issues facing the middle-class.If they can't totally destroy the middle-class, they want us so beaten down, buried and struggling that we have neither the strength or courage to complain.Wake up!CHANGE!!
the deciding factor for me when im on the fence about two candidates is which i feel is more honest. sometimes its easy to decide, like bill clinton i dont believe a word he says. other times its just a gut feeling of who is the more honest person.

well to get really technical, it is mentioned once, and that is in the dating of the constitution, they mention the year belonging to the Lord.
but in all fairness, you are correct, and i spoke in haste
however, the founders carefully chose and wrote their words from a christian point of view, that is, we were created in freedom, including religion
that freedom in no way includes a person's right not to be offended, which sounds "mean" but is what i believe, what the founders wanted
