Why complain about the immigrants taking the jobs mowing our lawns, or building our houses? I've known quite a few illegals, trust me. I used to work at the IRS. Trust me the problem is not developing a viable nationwide data retrieval system. It's the will to do so, or lack thereof in the current short-sighted Democratic leadership.
I heard E-Verify is currently used locally in some places. You may be right E-Verify may not currently be viable as a nationwide data retrieval system. But it's vitally important it or something like it is developed and initiated. It will probably be a combination of citizenship and id checks as backup.

It would be more than acceptable and no inconvenience at the drug screen to have other biometric tests to identify Illegals and to avoid losing the job to an Illegal - and not just jobs in the fields, they're supervisors at Walmart taking your job. The scale of a lot of this is new and counter measures still being developed. Step 1 is recognizing and acknowledging the issue.
Besides thumbscans, alt id can be retinal scans, voice prints and - if cost and speed improve - mouth swab DNA samples. Illegals don't have the same rights to privacy. As you say, E-Verify error rates may currently be problematic, hence the other program(s) being developed. Personally, I see no alternative to some type of pre-employment citizen verification check and the sooner the better.

I live in Oklahoma, there are a TON of Mexican immigrants here, many of whom technically shouldn't be here. And all of them that I have known had their job because they worked their asses off compared to the citizen that could have been hired.

It would be more than acceptable and no inconvenience at the drug screen to have other biometric tests to identify Illegals and to avoid losing the job to an Illegal - and not just jobs in the fields, they're supervisors at Walmart taking your job. The scale of a lot of this is new and counter measures still being developed. Step 1 is recognizing and acknowledging the issue.

Besides thumbscans, alt id can be retinal scans, voice prints and - if cost and speed improve - mouth swab DNA samples. Illegals don't have the same rights to privacy. As you say, E-Verify error rates may currently be problematic, hence the other program(s) being developed. Personally, I see no alternative to some type of pre-employment citizen verification check and the sooner the better.

Europeans entered legally according to US laws at that time. The Native American story is unrelated to US Illegal Immigration. Kennewick Man was here first so Natives are Natives either. Natives may have a case but it's a different issue and rally. All pro-Illegal, pro-Amnesty punkers attempting to use the Native American story as grounds against US Illegal Immigration really need to understand this. Euro invasion of Native land in no way justifies Illegal invasion of the USA.

Yes, welcome immigrants but in a controlled, lawful, fair process. Mexicans and others illegally invading via the southern border aren't better than those lawfully waiting to enter from Iraq, India, Taiwan, Australia, the Philippines, Vietnam, Iran, Liberia, Somalia, Lebanon, Croatia.. It isn't the illegal immigrants who cause pay-grade issues, it is our current laws. If we have laws in place that force companies/businesses to pay illegal immigrants the same wage as they would pay an equally skilled citizen, then there is absolutely NO incentive to hire one over the other.

California and increasingly the rest of the country is in economic dire straits because taxpayers have to pay for Illegals' Welfare, Food Assistance Programs, Medicaid, Education at all levels, incarceration including Federal prison for decades, healthcare, Social Security, interpreters at the schools, hospitals, jails... American wages are suppressed because Illegals don't obey US Labor Laws. There is the loss to the economy from millions of dollars sent back to their homelands.
