They first called the group "Edward The Bear", but decided to change it to Edward Bear because everyone thought it was a jazz ensemble. Great old songs from a great Canadian band.
I know Edward bear is a group. Loved this group and when i moved to Australia. I had everyone loving it. His song , fly across the sea is what happened to me. I flew across the sea to visit a loved one and one week after the visit he passed away. In his song it was a guy who flew across the sea, in my life it was just reversed I flew across the sea to help him. All his songs live within me. xx 484
A masterpiece. "You Me & Mexico", "Fly Across The Sea", "Masquerade", "Last Song", "Close Your Eyes" are as good as anything from anywhere in the world from that time. And that's saying something because the music from that period (mid-60s to late 70s) is the best ever. That's not nostaligia. That's fact.
You may not realize this Edward Bear, I am Canadian and when I lived in Australia in 193-1976, All my friends loved Edward Bear. Still in contact with them and they listen and sing to your songs even today, tequila 484
@summersideoflife Nope. He teaches guitar now. He also wrote and sang the Theme to the Littlest Hobo and many many jingles....I adore my Commodore 64, I wanna go to the zoo zoo zoo...etc :)
love all your music, the girl must have given you real headaches alot of women can do that ....... it would be to hear you sing again, please, jrobertcanada@hotmail.com name the moon, planet or place ........... I don't know the actually story only heard rumours from la la la DJ and person, hope you read this some day
Thanks for posting this. I'm 32, and this song was probably one of the first influences for me to play guitar as a kid of 12, from listening to my father's records. haven't heard it in years, nice memories.
Definitely Canada actually gave us a lot of great artrists and music during that time[and I'm not Canadian] I think Edward Bear was basically Larry Evoy I may have the name wrong His music was simply great!! Thanks for sharing
About 5 years ago I did some work for Larry Evoy not knowing who he was... I saw this gold album with a picture of this guy and he said it was him... He gave me a CD and I have not been able to stop listening to it since... Great songs... I was only a baby when they came out!
Hi Grip: Just a note to tellyou how much I still appreciate you putting together this Edward Bear tune for me. As I said before, listening to it brings back fond memories and good times that my darling wife and I shared back in the Seventies. I listen to it every time I have Youtube up. I miss her so much and I know she would have been so grateful to you for all the work you did in her memory. Thanks again!
great one.

A greatly underrated talent; I had "Edward Bear" and "Close Your Eyes" BITD, played them to bits. "Fool" may be one of the best break-up songs ever.
