My father who died last Aug used to love watching this show. I enjoyed as a kid spending time and watching it with him. He normally hated scifi and action shows but he enjoyed this show, especially the KITT and Micheael's interactions and the silly humor, a charm the new series seemed to lack. Sometimes watching the old shows brings up memories

This series seemed more respectful with European cars than American modern movies use to be. Devon, for instance, owned a few Mercedes and if I´m not wrong, none of them was destroyed or ended up in poor conditions... as in all probabity they would in a action modern film. There was also a golden Ferrari in one chapter (which they called as something else) and though with problems, at least it ended in one piece too.

There's also the original Stu Phillips/Glen Larson version of theme that's been remixied in stereo in the very rare CD "The Stu Phillips Scores: Knight Rider (Original Television Soundtrack)" that was released by Film Scores Monthly.

It's def. worth a find as all of the tracks were rerecorded from the original masters.

I grew up with that series, anbd it was a huge hit even in Germany. Yes, KITT was highly modern for that time, and it's intresting to watch it even today to see that some of this "fantasy" elements from back then have truly become reality!

the scene where he is driving kitt into the back of the semi-trailer was filmed at brackett airport in la verne, ca. I was there that day and talked to the hoff. He was a very cool guy and he gave me a signed pic which i still have today. He crashed a car that day into some film lights so they had to get the stunt driver to do the scene. there were two different kitt's. one with stock interior with a very small steering wheel and a computered interior kitt. You can guess which one was used 4 stu

Just get the final season from iTunes and it's in full stereo. The whole of the fourth season was recorded and broadcast in stereo. All of the main titles were mastered with proper stereo separation.

The first 25 seconds of this TV theme (especially the first 12 seconds) is great.

The climax from 0:43 to 0:51 is incredible; editing to perfection.

The two best intros of all-time were Doctor Who and Knight Rider. Miami Vice was probably the best produced along with being possibly the most catching and attracting, but was easy to get sick of. I don't think I could ever get sick of Knight Rider and Doctor Who!

Both themes actually had a similarity in the constant repititous and fast background throughout.
