she's smart to think of this way and let others realize that health is the most important thing here... but not just skinny and with big and fake boobies...
It is clear that your emotional faculties have taken over your logical mind. Spend a few minutes to recollect yourself and reread our discussions.
Instead of slashing out personal attacks, we should focus on the topic instead.
Or else you are only making a fool out of yourself.
I am in no way related to the U.S, but find it interesting that, as a social cultural researcher, you fell so easily into the danger of stereotyping and generalizing .
No you are wrong. She constructed her doll using barbie's head length in proportion to its body length. Barbie is abnormally tall, if she is a real person having a 175cm height, her head would be very small.
The usual barbie doll looks "normal" only because of its small size.
Barbie is made for its size not meant to be a real person big doll in the first place. If they were to make a big Barbie, do you honesty think that they will not adjust the proportion? it doesnt take a genius to figure out. there can be a girl that u perceive as a real life Barbie without the need to be in exact proportion to a Barbie doll, it is just an aesthetic perception that doesnt have to be measured in numbers.
The issue doesn't lie in the Barbie doll itself. If the society doesn't impose a standard of beauty onto young girls, a Barbie doll with an abnormal breast size would mean nothing to our youths. The problem is, do we let others tell us how we should be or do we have control of our own lives? Do you want to be a slave or do you want to be the master of your own life?
You argument is based on subjective statements that lack substance.
You didntread the idea. What u percieve of Barbie doll wont make u appreciate a real female with the exact proportion, Barbie aestheticism is not about size or numbers, no kid measures the doll when they play with it. if Barbie is a fat chick u can complain that it impose a "fat standard of beauty"? if Barbie is with flat chest then it impose pressure on big breasted women? noone make u a slave unless u r too lazy to think and people have different aesthetics.
I don't think you are aware of the somewhat academic discussions on the social and cultural implications of Barbie in our society (at least for western countries). Yes people can have different aesthetics, but one can not be blind to the standard of beauty imposed by society throughout history. And Barbie is just one example among many that illustrates this issue.
But why am I expecting this from someone who doesn't even write coherently?
i m tired of your crocky attitude, u refuse to read. How barbie blind u to a standard of beauty when u have your own aesthetics, the problem lies on the ppl lacking the ability to assure self identity. Academic discussions? if ur in the academia, you should expect critics and arguments, that is academic. there is rarely one absolute theory except for smth like chemistry. Why am i expecting from someone who just trying to be a smart ass while not discussing at all?
It is funny that you are accusing others the exact thing that you have committed yourself. Yes we all have our own sense of aesthetics, but a significant portion of it is culturally derived. Ability is both inborn AND developed. Sadly, not everyone has the chance to realize the inner workings of the structure. We live in a society and are products of our own thinking AND our time.
If you read more, you would not be ignorant and behave in a self-righteous way. You poor thing.
Its Hilarious that you fail to notice the first sentence fits u. seems that you aint developed, either the education in ur country fail or u personally fail to have your own idependent thinking. cultural impact on society is bi directional, ppl can influence the culture as a whole while the society has its impact on its ppl.
Think more , you wont be ignorant and too stubborn to at least respect others point of view. You pathetic creature that doesnt know how to talk properly.
btw i m doing research on social cultural studies although not on this subject. I have a different view point probabli due to the fact that i m not American, so i can see things differently. if u r an academician in US, i m disappointed in the US education system. u cant even take a different point of view and discuss. have u explained how Barbie blinded ppl to its standard at all?
the problem lies not on the Barbie, it lies on the lack of self identities, abilities to judge and think independently. if kids r having hulk frigure to play with, do they grow up and do crazy body build with abnormal muscule?
我只能說完全不合比例~
