@Gir3993 I misspoke when I said all early cars would be "titled" as 1965's. Yes your state would initially title a car bought anytime in 1964 as a '64 but Ford considers all Mustangs built in 1964 as 1965 model cars. It's only enthusiasts who term some early cars as 1964 1/2's its just easier to identify the early cars which had quite a few differences from the cars made later in 1964 and through part of 1965. If your VIN does not start with a 5 something is amiss.
It is. The build date is May 22, 1964 It had the generator charging system (I changed it to alternator, have the original parts) It's #110355 to roll off the Dearborn line. According to official records all 1964 1/2 mustangs were titled as 1965 automobiles. total production from April 1964 to august 1965 was 680,000 units The fastback body was not introduced until Sept. 1964 as a 1965 unit.
@Aard88 I own a 1964 1/2 Mustang, that is titled as a '64, I had always heard what you are saying until I bought mine last year. Looked up the vin and that is how it was titled when the guy I bought it from bought it new.
Nice ky post a video or some pics. Mine looks much better than this video, I had to repaint but I love the color and it's a great driver. Not a show car (even though I take it to shows) but a very nice car to drive around. Good luck with yours!
@MARISELAAVINA1 Actually in my state they don't title cars this old. On my tag receipt it's listed as a 1965 model and that is correct.

I wish I had a garage to put my car in and I could do some of this stuff. Nice job!
