I remember being in 7th grade when the game came out. It rated higher than Final Fantasy VII and when I rented it and put it in my brothers Playstation, I knew why. I just remember walking through the castle opening chopping down the zombies from Castlevania 1 thinking to myself, "This game is freaking awesome. This is truly awesome!"

Actually mate i tried it with the codes you give and didn't work, the fairy (pixie) wouldn't appear. I searched in the Inet and found other codes and it worked with them. Me version is SLUS_00067, by he way, USA NTSC.:

using a combination of EpsxE and Cheat Engine i was able to see the other 2 familiars but their names were in Japanese (the song seems to be a lullaby. alucard fell asleep listening to it. you'd figure it give him extra health.)

Basically, I think they covered a lot of things they deemed unneccicary in the saturn version, such as the 2 familiars that did the same thing, and the 2 very small lost levels, in order to up the graphical power that the ps1 could boast.
