  • Bonnie, did you write the lyrics or at least part of the lyrics to Swept Away?

  • @iam46moe Yes, I wrote the verse that I perform with them on stage. They approached me about writing the verse for the sentimental version, then they somehow got me singing it with them, too! I was super nervous about singing anything solo at first (I prefer to sing backup), but it's slowly gotten easier (though I'm not sure how much better!) over the years...and I love my time with the boys!

  • really hot

  • shes hot

  • this was such a great show...went on for hours with so much energy!

  • wonderful post. thank you for all of these videos, sunday. you're making my night...

  • wow, she is beautiful!

  • So cool to see Bonnie singing with the boys live. Thanks for posting this!!

  • She always looks kinda of nervouse.

  • @shlewu22 Yah, I agree with you...very nervous and stiff on stage. I've watched six videos of them performing with her and I kept hoping I'd see some kind of evolution of stage comfort and development of skill, but alas, it's just not her thing. It's kind when musicians invite their loved ones to showcase their common passion for an art form but it just goes to show that just because they share some genes doesn't mean the talent to sing and perform is on equal ground. Check Nicole Atkins duet!

  • Ouch. The boys have been very gracious to have me onstage several times over the years, to perform lyrics that I wrote for them. It's taken me a while, but I do feel quite comfortable singing with them these days (even if it doesn't show - I'm a dancer by trade, not a professional singer!). I found this video when my daughters were asking to see me on youtube...we are just a very close family and we enjoy sharing music. And I agree - Nicole's duet is AMAZING! Happy 2011 to you...

  • @bonnierini Hey Bonnie---let me first say "Happy 2011 to You " too! I appreciate you very humbly and gracefully acknowledging that by posting a performance to you tube of any live performance, it opens the performers up to opinions galore, some of which are constructive bits of criticism, some are adoring compliments, and some are just downright mean. I hope you received mine from the first category more than any place else. In no way do I want to dampen a sweet spirit. (continued above...)

  • @bonnierini (continued from above/below/wherever it goes?!)... Thank you for sharing with me and everyone who reads this that you ARE indeed an artist, with your focus and gift in song writing and dance (modern/ballet, is it?). I'm happy to hear you had the courage to try out a different channel for your creativity. I simply responded to what I honestly thought when I watched the numerous Avett Brothers videos with that song, and different featured duet people. You may be the shy one ..(cont.)

  • @bonnierini (cont. again)...."the shy one in the family" but it took alot of courage to get up on stage when you are more naturally inclined to express your artistry through expressive movement and your love of writing. Kudos for that alone! I don't regret sharing my honest opinion but I also know that you weren't trying to audition for American Idol, or say that you are a singer, you just wanted to be part of something with your family..so good for you. Hey, maybe it would be great ..(cont.)

  • @bonnierini ...to see you do an interpretive dance to Swept Away while your brothers/friends sing it?! How about that for putting your gifts into manifestation of performance. Still collaborative...and even more unique. I'd bet it would be beautiful. Just an idea. :) Blessings to you...

  • @islandsq you know, it's funny - Seth and I have actually discussed my choreographing dancers for some of his stuff. So far, time and schedules and life just haven't cooperated for that to happen, but you never know! Thanks for your feedback. I do appreciate your honest opinion and admit that your first response to the video makes complete sense, in my opinion! On a side note, it's funny how the universe works...I hadn't thought much about this since I last posted, until it (cont)

  • @bonnierini unexpectedly crossed my mind late last night. Then I come up to check email this morning and you've just responded! Now I've gotta go, as I've got children to dress for preschool, but I wish you well and thank you again for your honesty and kindness! Take care...

  • @bonnierini AAhhh..yes..it is so interesting/"funny" how the "universe works"--I acquiesce with that observation, Bonnie! Such synchronicity in your "late, late night" musings of inspirations and my very, very early morning intuitive sense that it was the time to respond to you and your comment. I was really tired of being online but I knew I just HAD to respond to you when I did ( a few hours ago) because it had to get to you now. I love when conscious communication blooms!

  • @bonnierini

After watching this and later versions, may I say that you and your voice have grown more beautiful over time? Thank you for overcoming your apprehension and sharing with us.

  • love to see that family stuff.

  • bonnie is so pretty

  • is bonnie scott's wife or their sister?

  • sister

  • it was incredible...the whole thing was solid

  • Aw man, had to have been a great show, incredibly jealous of anyone who actually got to see it.
