i'm a cougar for life but at some time in yo bandhead life you wanted to march for st.aug i'm talking bout elamentry to junior high not high school ounce you got to high school it was like fuck the aug
I know were all full of "Purple Pride" but after Katrina I've gained a deeper appreciation for the good old days. Truth is 1998 was an undisputed year for Kennedy, they ran the table. When "Doc" Harris retired and Lawrence Rawlins came in , it was their year. No different than St. Aug of 87, hands down the best.
I smell a hater in Peppaboy9 don't hate man this is 1994 band I don't if there will ever ever be another band this good they were huge in size and had the direction of Hamp and Ray the Dynamic Duo and you cannot judge the current band post Katrina by this standard not yet atleast we need a rebuilding period as does every high school in New Olreans but we wil be back before anyone else is so stop hating.....
some of ya'll old band heads need to go back to st.aug and help them boys cause how they marching and sound like is shit i didn't go to st.aug but what they got now please i know they can do better than that
Im asking all band alum to send $58 a month to the music department, better yet bring it over there your self. Just think how far along we would be with your help. I am an alum just like you, I hold no position with in the music department, but we can do more. Show Hamp how much you love him while he is living. This is a real section challenge.
We were the only African American high school band that played pop music as well as R&B; we played "The Reflex" also by Duran Duran during my senior year. It brought the house down everytime; the cheerleaders danced to it.
Actually, this song is not by Duran Duran; it's by Information Society. I remembered because we (Phi Beta Sigma-Omicron Phi Chapter) stepped to this in 1989 or 1990.

My 2 cents.....I know it's all about opinion here, BUT I clearly remember WE (St. Aug) smashed Kennedy in 98'.

We called it "I wanta know", but it's correct title is "What's on Your Mind (Pure Energy)," Duran Duran. This song was arranged by Ray Johnson.
