what I cannot understand is , why my Z4 2.5i manual (192hp) when i finish the 2nd gear, I am still in 90-95 Km and this car is going above 100....

I'm pretty sure the ratio's are different from auto to manual. I'd rather have done it with a manual, it may have been faster.

@johnmarkac push it past 6k. Redline is 6500. I shifted into 3rd at about 6200-6300rpm.

I do not speak Italian however I understand...you do not compare ibiza to z4 , then don;t compare turbo against z4...its atmosphere.

However the z4 2.5 is ok. 0-100 7-7,5 seconds, it's correct. Not a ferrari but ok...

Took me a minute to figure out that it was not me you were replying to 'cause I never said it did 1-100mph in 7sec, but someone else did. I counted right @ 19sec 0-100 MPH. We don't use km here in the states :)

ehh..slower than i wouldve thought but its still a bimmer so its the shit... the clutchless manual is SMG by the way. steptronic is just an auto

I had the pedal to the floor the entire time. I did not lift at all. I up shifted early cause the SMG system is slow to respond.

The 'SMG' system sucks IMO. Going into 2nd the clutch/converter sometimes feels like a slipping clutch which is irritating. I found the best way to drive 'sporty' in one of these in manual mode is to lightly let up off the accelerator right before upshifting it usually shifts better, much like a manual transmission.

yeah my friend has an e46 330i with SMG..its definitely not as good as the M3 one..he says the shifts are only smooth in manual mode...i rode with him and the shifts are pretty jerky in auto mode..we only went for a short 0-90 run though so i dont really know what its like since i didnt spend enough time with it.
