  • nice string

  • bad brm

  • ohhhhhh in your face damon!!! aces full!!!

  • Look at the guy at 7:51. He's like: shouldn't have pushed with nines full, donk...

  • In Soviet Russia cards cooler you.

  • @cookiekoen no

  • HELLLOOO!!! Matt could have quads there. Am I wrong?

  • @boblovesmary

Could, but he hasnt, pocket nines was only hand, which could Tedy beat, but very impossible :o)

  • @HeavyD293 I think betting the turn would have been a better play and would have made it easier to get the money in on the river. If Mike truly believed Teddy had a draw he would want to get more money in while Teddy's draw was still live in case a spade doesn't peel on the river.

  • @jasonpease You don't understand the dynamics of high stakes Poker. By checking the turn, Mike is un-leveraging the hand, saying "I c-bet the flop and now I give up, please take the pot away from me on any river". Of course if Teddy misses a flush draw on the river he'll try to bluff it, as his only way to win the pot. A lot of expert players will call down a bet like that with Ace-high. However, Mike did raise preflop so his range is rather polarized with the ace on the board.

  • @HeavyD293 Donking on the river there isn't necessarily a bad play but betting 3x the pot isn't realistic. In any case, Teddy's monster overbet represents the nuts (better than nines full) or air. Mike wouldn't reraise either as he knows it's a -EV play (i.e. he isn't getting called by any hand he's beating).

  • lol all that money and they can't even afford to hire any dealers

  • @pialakin Addicts don't appreciate this, stay safe.

  • @tremda6208

Okay man.. Lets play 1 on 1 my FTP ID = demacu5370 =)

  • PokerStars must have given so many people that 600$ bonus when using the Marketing Code: psp15562 because so many people are talking about it

  • @lesiahallas Putin is right, poker is bad.

  • Just a cold deck here. He was behind on every street

  • This is not a bad beat..This is a cooler

  • @PhantomXII Correct - KGB was ahead the entire hand, from pre-flop to the river.

  • @PhantomXII idd it is

  • Not a bad beat but a very cold deck

  • AND he dealt it himself, sick sick sick

  • Ever heard of bankroll-management, Mike? ^^

  • "Aces Full, Mike"

Fuck you I have pocket nines.

  • @4DCrunch haha thats what i was thinking

  • @4DCrunch I would have messed with Teddy by turning over 1 Nine and then saying "It's good, Teddy" then gone outside and jumped into the river.

  • thats when you leave a little bit of poop on the chair..lol

  • @Lennon4life1968 AHHHAHHAHA

  • matt damon (in a stupid voice) lmao

  • Oh. It's a shitty film. That explains Matt Damon.

This isn't a bad beat. He was beat from the start.

  • Btw, it's kinda retarded to say "I don't believe you have the flush" and then shove. If Matt would have anything worse than a flush, but still has showdown value and doesn't believe the other guy, he would just call. No point in shoving.

I suppose this movie is for those who does not play poker, wich jasonpease allraedy has pointed out .

  • Thats not a bad beat. That's a cooler. What's this movie called?

  • @Boubben rounders.

  • pocket 9s would be killer

  • actually the nuts were quad 9s. aces full were second nuts.

  • cooler not a bad beat

  • It is called a cooler...

  • @opom cooler? losing 30k, all of your bank roll, thats pretty much an absolute zero ice age.

  • overbetting aside, why not just call the 15 if you think you got the best hand? if you lose your still up 3k.

if you raise the only hand that calls is the hand that beats you.

  • slowroll, stringbet, splashing the pot, now i know where all the players in germany have their table manners from

  • Great movie but the betting in this hand is a little far fetched. Mike's flop overbet of $2,000 into a pot of $1,750 (it looks like Mike raised $500 and pushed out 8 blacks, meaning they're playing 150/300) is a little unusual but believable.

However, Teddy's $15,000 donk bet on the river into a pot of around $5,750 is just retarded. Yes, players do that, but not players as skilled as KGB. I guess that was the best way to get it all in considering the audience is primarily not poker players.

  • @jasonpease Teddy might have figured Damon for a flush, that he made on the river, and therefore he'd call a huge bet like that.

  • he could of had pocket 9.

  • @kworld0 Rounders

  • Visit the blog for hacks>>>>> texaspokerhack.blogspot . com

  • Wouldn't be a bad beat if John Malkovich lost here?

  • Who ever thinks this is a badbeat is wrong. I would consider it a cold deck.

  • its different type of bad beat, for example if you hit quads and lose to a royal flush, for example aa vs kj and kj hits a roylal vs quads aces, thats is considered a bad beat even tho kj has the NUTS

  • is this a movie or somethig?

  • @vladkpone Yes, it's called Rounders with matt damon and edward norton

  • it's not bad beat

  • that was such an rookie mistake!... but i had the Quad 9, i would be laughing my ass off :D

  • i hate matt damon

  • pretty mandatory river c/r by teddy imo

  • who the fuck would put a video up claiming Matt Damon Loses high stakes poker and it's the fucking movie......fucking idiot.

  • Malkovitch nailed the Russian accent perfectly

  • i've lost 6k in my life playing poker and i'm only 22. Luck like this follows me around, i never win a flip, if i hit trips someone got a flush. My two pair on the flop always beaten by an overpair rivering two pair. I know none of you believe me beacuse you live in the world where u belive it's all skill and watch Doyle and gus on high stakes poker and think there skillful. Truth is you either run good or d'ont. I QUIT!!!!!!!!

  • @buster560 I guess you play online? then you must be on a rigged site, go to the casino!

  • @buster560 I think you should quit while you are still ahead. Roulette might be the right game for you, bet 6k on red! LOL

  • @Russin073

Just as anything involiving the game, theres much more to it than that.

K I might answer your question, maybe i shouldnt say this here but I would say you register with this working bonus code UTUBEBONUS. if ya register with it at their site fulltiltpoker(。)net FTP will double your 1st deposit.and provide you access to VIP tournies Mhm like free money for their new players,

  • That wasnt bad beat, Matt was "just" unlucky

  • aces full was the nuts beside pocket 9's

  • thats not a bad beat if pocket aces lost then it would be...

  • how to get poker rakeback com

  • @88mestari88

    U 2, kid !

If we would sit on 1 table I would take ur last cent.

btw: I´ll give u ur thumb down back ...

  • you lost $20k play money?

  • yes, i did, and i´m still crying, boohhoohoo ... ;)

  • @88mestari88

    ur absolutely right !

but who am i to talk, i lost 20k over the last week, partly because of decisions like not to fold with hds like that ... i guess I´ll never be a Doyle Brunson or Daniel Negreanu, but i luv this game ...

  • @88mestari88

of course, brother, no sane player would have folded any of their hands.

but still: none of them held the nuts on river ... (9s) and the pocket aces were such a slim chance to have happened to kgb, if i were matt, i´d probably bet my cats life on his cards ...

  • thats not a defiintion of bad beat... maybe bad luck but not bad beat

  • what movie is this?

  • rounders

  • Comment removed

  • well that's not going to happen too often to be worried about.. + proper BRM is needed for success.

  • 50$ free Poker money : w w w. freepokermoney. eu. tt

  • that isnt a bad beat

  • holy shit that sucks

  • cold deck yes, bad beat no!

  • btw: on flop both new that the nuts would be pocket 9s and neither of them believed that the other had it.

so let´s talk about 2nd nuts on flop, now ... ;-)

  • nobody can have 4 nines when two is on board and damon has one in hand... so maybe kgb could put him on quads but not damon putting kgb on quads...

  • @Chiefpokeaho

right, i was drunk when i wrote last comment ;)

from KGB´s point of view, on TURN Matt could have had the nuts (nines).

the way Matt betted before and after, this would have been even quite possible, i think.

  • pocket 9s are impossible smarty pants, matt damon has one in his hand ruling out the possibility, KGB has the absolute nuts

  • @gary91

from KGB´s point of view, Matt could have had quad 9s, but kgb bet anyway. that´s why i said maybe KGB manipulated the game.

  • @gary91 matt damon could have had pocket 9s.. it is possible.

  • Correct me if I am wrong, but I believe that trip aces are the nuts on the flop in this situation. KGB was sitting on pocket aces and hit his set on the flop. He had it all the way, no bad beat here.

  • @Disney312

    Of course you´re right.

In Germany we call this situation "bad luck", "miss-reading a hand" or "KGB the basterd manipulated the game"

  • you are correct,this not 1,...have a gr8 Christmas.

  • @Disney312 it`s cold deck not bad beat

  • @Disney312 Yes I agree with that. However, I guess it dpends on what you define as a "bad beat". If a "bad beat" is when you get very unlucky cards dealt, then this is a bad beat. Damon got INCREDIBLY unlucky to have that full house against a stonger full house, with a flush on the board. However, as you say, KGB was in with the best of it.

  • you're absolutely right. A bad beat is when the best hand gets cracked on the river by say, in this situation, a third 9 on board, giving McD quads on 5th street. KGB had him beaten the whole way.

Heck even Mike McD later on in the movie admits that it wasn't a bad beat and that he wasn't unlucky.

  • @Disney312 NO a set of aces on that flop are not the nuts! It is the best hand on the flop but not the nuts. Because Matt could have flopped set of 9s and turned quads or rivered a quads. Nuts would be if he hit Quad Aces with that hand. HE was a heavy favorite and had it all the way.

  • @madshy

Semantics. fine, it is the best hand on the flop, not the nuts. Either way, I said that KGB had it all the way. My only point is that Damon's character didn't suffer a bad beat here.

  • @Disney312 its a fuking cold deck all the money had to go to the middle

  • @Disney312

It's not really a bad beat but it is when you hit a full house and still lose...

  • @Disney312 its a bad beat not a suckout. a suckout is what u mean, when the lead in the hand changes as the play continues.

  • @Disney312 not a bad beat. just bad luck

  • what is the film called??

  • Rounders

  • this film is fucking amazing. if you havent seen it, buy it, enjoy it. easy

  • This is not a bad beat.KGB had the best hand all the way.

  • SLOOOOOWROLLLL

  • he got cold decked when HE was dealing.. thats so sad.. if i was dealing, i would have the aces n he would have the 9's full :D

  • u know when damon pushed all in wasnt it needed for him to flip over his cars so the guy can see what he has and then realise that his hand was beaten when kgb flips over his aces after he calls??? coz we see damons hand but no1 else did, like coz he had a good hand, didnt just push all in wif bullshit...had a fullhouse....anyone?

  • When KGB calls he is pretty much certain he has the best hand as the only thing that could beat him would be pocket 9s.

When KGB flips over his cards, if Damon had had two more 9s in his hand, he would've flipped them to show that he had won the pot. By not showing your cards or throwing them away (or here sitting in shock) you're basically saying that you can't beat what's shown. So to answer your question no it's not needed, KGB can just assume he has won when Damon doesn't show his cards.

  • nope, matt is on the button sitting at a later position than kgb and therefore has the right to muck his hand..

  • Damon was supposed to show his cards, since he was called, but nothing stops the other player from showing first if he wants. As it turned out, it was enough to see KGB's hand, because his aces full of nines was the "nuts" - the highest possible game with that board. There was no hand Damon could have that would win or tie. Of course, he could have shown that he wasn't being stupid in his bet, but it looks like everyone assumed Damon had the lower full house anyway.

  • pocket 9's was the nuts duh

  • dnt think so. 2 nines on table, 1 nine i damons hand. howcome another 99 on the hand? :DDD

  • because no one knew what damon had in his hand you fucking idiot his cards were face down..pocket nines the nuts in that hand.

  • we actually can see cards of matt. 9 in his hand and 2 nines - one on flop and one on turn. moron:DDD

  • load of crap fabio pocket 9's is the nutz

  • quad 9's

  • @fabiogaucho77

    Pocket 9's....

  • OLOLO

    dumb ass

  • thats not a bad beat, he was always behind

  • That always sucks.

Few nights ag ago i had AQ, flop comes AQQ. Safe money. Checks back at my opponent from the button. Turn is K. River is blank.

We both go all in and he shows over the kings. Hallelujah.

  • what u trying to say?

  • "Matt Damon....."

    LOL

  • "Matt Damon" Team America - World Police

  • matt damon just got his butt owned....

  • WTF are u guys talking about its a movie

  • this is the movie that ignited the online poker revolution

  • This movie didnt sparkt he online revolution. Chris Moneymaker's win at the WSOP is what started that.

  • Nope, Chris M. win at WSOP accelerated the online signing for Poker Stars and other websites, but the highest signup increase, %-wise, was in the next 1-2 years after the release of Rounders. Somebody did a study on that and one of the graphs clearly showed the impact of Rounders' release.

  • coolers are fun

  • also, that guys got the worst russian accent ive ever heard...

  • Haha KGB, he's fucking amazing. The accent makes me laugh hard.

  • lol it makes poker seem so criminal...

  • They should have wait, he could have had quad nines... Considering kgb didnt know his hand

  • matt please practice some bankroll management... is this real?

  • are you serious...lol is this real...wtf....LOLOLOLOL

  • a movie

  • Watch the fucking movie first, "pokerpro".

  • how KGB was so sure that he won, if Matt had the 99 for quads?

  • Damn KGB played that like a pro he definitly deserves a bracelet for that one

  • never knew jason bourne was into poker ^^

    jk

  • wow, i lost a game the exact same way a few days ago

  • rounders is probably my favorite movie ever, but for sure just a cooler. never would have happened to worm.

  • lmao definitly not

  • That wasn't a bad beat, just unlucky.

  • THis aint bad beat....if you got trip 8 on flop and your opponent with pocket Aces went all in on the turn and you called, and he freakin gets an Ace on the river giving him trip aces, thats a fuckin bad beat....man makes me so angry! >:(
