I was devastated when they did not make any more seasons of Green Wing, but now when I look back its probably much better, than having series 6 and being bored by the characters. Saying that, I would love to see this ensemble in a different show.

I can't agree. Possibly, taken out of context it can be pretty obvious but this isn't suppossed to be subtle-it captures the character of Guy Secretan, he is desperate for Caroline to return his advances but arses it up through him as a person, completely over the top. If dealing with another character then it could have been done less obviously but you really need to understand the context.

Plus it's bloody funny, a man serenading with the most unattractive singing voice trying so hard.
