I had this on a cruise ship and asked the waiter if he could get me the recipe. He was glad to do it. He said that they give out the recipe all of the time. BUT when I got it, the recipe made lots more cake then I wanted. I remember it called for 700 eggs. That's 66 1/2 pounds of eggs. Needless to say, I stuck it in a drawer somewhere and forgot about it. But it was wonderful. I ate it for five days on the ship.

@MrGrevy You can scale any recipe but that doesn't mean it'll work. Cooking is an art. Change it around if you will. Add to it take away but baking is a science. It's unwise to change any baking recipe that counts on the coagulation and the rising process of eggs to flour. When a cake recipe calls for twelve eggs and you want to half it, half the recipe may need 7 eggs instead of six to or 3 cups of sugar instead of two to get same results as the original recipe. Thanks but I'll use this one.
