  • He's got some gay ass highlights

  • Nr. 4 must be Nr. 1 because this is not a sky hook :D

  • Where's him on the bucks

  • what a beast.

  • He didn't like celtics !

  • National Basketball Association: Rookie of the Year (1970) Six-time NBA champion (1971, 1980, 1982, 1985, 1987, 1988) Most Valuable Player (1971, 1972, 1974, 1976, 1977, 1980) Sporting News NBA MVP (1971, 1972, 1974, 1976, 1977, 1980) Finals Most Valuable Player (1971, 1985) Sports Illustrated magazine's "Sportsman of the Year" (1985) One of the 50 Greatest Players in NBA History (1996) First player in NBA history to play 20 seasons #7 in SLAM Magazine's Top 50 NBA Players of all time in 2009.
  • I can look at him skyhook-ing all day long man...

  • Kareem/Magic >> Kobe/Shaq/Gasol

  • @Darkstarfoxx Off course

  • Those top 10 plays are from 1985 playoffs there isn't any play from 1971! Just to correct! :D

  • those were all from like the same game? wtf?

  • KAREEM - Best Center Ever

    MJ - GOAT

  • all this kid does is sky hook its so gay its like a highlight of lebron dunks

  • @lummymanpix then go and watch his highlights, troll

  • @lummymanpix Yeap. And no one could stop him. Hence the highest scorer to date. What's gay are these punk ass athletes that don't play fundamentals, high flying, low scoring games and all about me attitude. The NBA sucks today. Kareem was more than a skyhook player. A finesse player that did more than that during his prime with the Bucks. Can you do better? Not.

  • Kareem has probably the most impressive and unstoppable hook shot in the history. Although I do believe Michael Jordan and maybe Kobe are better in a way. But they were different and this is just an opinion.

  • Why isnt Kareem in Hall of fame? can anyone explain that to me?

  • @pouon Kareem is in the Hall Of Fame! He was inducted in 1994!

  • @goggy91 oh thanks i thought it was weird :D

  • @pouon You're probably thinking about how he doesn't have a statue in front of the Staples Center like Magic and Jerry West.

  • @pouon cuz he is a Muslim!! Media hates Islam thats it.

  • compare shaq at 38 to kareem at 38

  • If we could bring back Russell, Wilt, and Kareem in the primes, only one would dominate today -- Kareem. Russell would be a watered down Hakeem, and Wilt would be a watered up Dwight Howard.

Only that magnificent Sky Hook would still dominate in today's game. That's why Kareem is the GOAT.

  • why do people give kobe so much shit man hes fucking a good ass player anyone who says different is just ignorant really...

  • No, it's not 'practically' unstoppable. It is unstoppable. There's not even a close 2nd. Not Elvin's fadeaway, not MJ fadeaway, not Gervin's finger roll. The Kareem Sky Hook is the single best shot in NBA history. And Kareem's the best center who ever played the game.

  • @mreman2 what about wilt chamberlain and bill russell??

  • Great shooter. One of the best of all time for sure!

  • dangg... basketball was soo intense back then. i wish retired players like kareem can play again.

  • The music is so cool it makes those Kareem's skyhooks so powerful!!! HE IS THE BEST CENTER OF ALL TIME!!!

  • @goggy91 I would say Bill Russell is the greatest but Kareem would come an extremely close 2nd. They're both great :)

  • @venuecam Bill Russel played at the time when there wasn't any great players (except Chamberlain) and Kareem played against old school players like Chamberlain and new age players like Olajuwon and crashed them all with the skyhooks! That's what greatness is all about!

  • @goggy91 NO DOUBT !

  • 1980's were the good old days of basketball. Jordan, Bird, Pippen, Kareem, Olajuwon, etc.

  • someone didn't want to do their homework on this compilation, Kareem getting no respect as usual.

  • haha

listen carefully around 1:58 as Kareem makes the hook shot!

  • will the NBA be like this again....cuz i didnt get to see the NBA like this...i was born too late!

  • every1 gotta stop comparing kareem and jordan, there two differnt players, differnt generation, and differnt positions....you dont see pple comparin dwight howard and dwanye wade

  • FORGET JORDAN. THINK MAGIC, KAREEM, COOP, SCOTT,& WORTHY

  • best laker ever

  • Cot damn, why is Robert Parish the victim in like 7 of those.

  • Gasol plays like Kareem... Both can run the floor and hit super hot hook shots

  • could their shorts be any shorter?

  • nr. 10 - block

    nr. 9 - hustle play

nr. 8 - rebound and sky hook

    nr. 7 - sky hook

    nr. 6 dunk

    nr. 5 - sky hook

    nr. 4 - fadeaway

    nr. 3 - sky hook

nr. 2 - fastbreak that ended with a sky hook

nr. 1 - clutch sky hook

  • kareem shoots hook like ray allen shoots his jumpers

  • im surprised non of these centers today have tried to master the sky hook the move is virtually ungaurdable

  • kobe and gasol? you mean Mike and scottie* lol

  • I dont see shaq doing that at age 38, Kareem is the GOAT

  • im going to work my mass of try to master that hook i

  • Top 5 of all time:

    Jordan

    Johnson

    Abdul-Jabbar

    Bird

    Shaq

  • @friedddo i agree with most of it

    Mike

    Kareem*

    Magic

    Bill Russell

    Wilt

  • #1 is the perfect example of why theres nothin better than winning a championship on your rival own court. Cause after that, they have nothing but respect for you, thats why they were quiet. But a legend. Kareem all day.

  • this is when he was 38, imagine him in his prime

  • poor D. Howard can't even hit a hookshoot.

  • whats the trumpet orchestra music at the end i obviously recognize it but anyone know what it is

  • Kreeam was fucking amazing who does those shots so acurately no one.

  • Man KAJ just made that sky hook an I Win button lol

  • All against Boston haha

  • so like... 6 or 7 of those highlights were him about to break the record.

i need more proof this guy was the best player in nba sorry :S

  • @BURRhypopo what a nubbins.

  • @BURRhypopo the NCAA banned the dunk bc of him. and he broke the all time SCORING RECORD in the PLAYOFFS and for a career. that isnt good enough?

  • @BURRhypopo he was 38 years old when he won finals MVP, All time leader in points, among the leaders in rebounds, 6 NBA titles, 6 MVP's, 10 all NBA first teams, 5 all NBA second teams, 11 time all defensive team (5 1st, 6 2nd), his 72 season is the best single season all time for a center (34-16-4, no clue how many blocks but averaged 3.5-4 when they started keeping track) surest 2 points in basketball, won finals mvps 14 years apart

  • @BURRhypopo

    How old are you?

If you are young, I understand that you know a little about Kareem. If you are 40 or older, I think you know too little about Basketball.

  • @Fernandocatan well one of those is correct. but what i saw was: #10 regular block, #9 an intercepted pass, #8 8pts from record, #7 6pts from record, #6 2pts from record, #5 ties record, #4 beats record, #3 one handed shot, #2 fastbreak postup and skyhook, #1 skyhook.... the skyhook obviously is a good shot, but how is the rest supposed to tell me how good he is. from research he played 1560 games with 38k pts. compared to, for eg MJ, who had 1072 games with 32k pts. educate me please :S

  • @BURRhypopo

    :-)

MJ had an average of about 30 points per game, Kareem 24.6. But this does not mean that MJ is better than Kareem.

Kareem won 6 MVP, there must be a reason for that!

    Ciao

    Fer

PS If I could choose my favourite starting five, I would have both Kareem and MJ. The other three players would probably be Larry Bird, Magic and Barkley.

  • Kareem still had the most unstoppable shot in NBA history. The best Center off all time in my opinion.

  • 3 more highlights should be added to this video....1. Kareem breaking the scoring record....2. Kareem hitting his one and only 3-point shot....3. Kareem's most amazing hook--a 20-footer in Portland.

  • Celtics r still better

  • @jjhdouble Ahh....another Celtic fan still in denial about a few nights ago....BOOHOO for you!! Celtics were only better than the Lakers in the 60s. Wilt and Kareem had better stats than Russell and Parish and in the 80s, the Lakers almost always beat the Celts in the regular season and beat the Celts 2 out of 3 in the Finals. Plus from '89-2007 the Celtics were nothing and many of those years they SUCKED BAD!! All during those years, the Lakers just kept winning and winning and winning

  • @mct1967 Russell is the 2nd best Center of all time. Stats can't tell the whole story because they didn't keep track of blocks

  • fuckin guy is so tall no one can block him

  • probably the cheapest move in all of sports history

  • @TheSoccershaman

You mean the best move in sports history

  • i am surprised and kinda jealous. cuz i'm a center, i can make a hook shot near the hoop but this guy can do it almost at the three point line!

  • who is better kareem abdul and hakeem

  • if you will compare abdul jabbar to michael jordan!! better not, bcoz jordan can dunk face to face any of players in nba!! and kareem was not

  • god, no clue he was a center, such a beatiful shot for a center. Wow, just wow

  • you almost pity him on the court at that age, but how can you pity him when he constantly hits skyhooks like no one else in the game?

  • nummer zwei ist ja mal das gammligste ego-gezocke aller zeiten! fünf gegen zwei und der nimmt nen schweren wurf! HAHAHAHAHA

  • Kareem...best center ever...period!

  • And on top of that...a great person, a great leader and always had a quiet respect for every opponent. One of the classiest atheletes ever. Was and still is one of my personal heroes.

  • this is cool!

  • I just realized nobody does skyhook anymore I AM FRICKIN OLLDDDD!!

  • @thesix107 yiep its a lost art, the next center or PF thats over 7ft and gets the skyhook to perfection like jabbar did, is gonna be a lethal weapon, but looks like its not gonna happen anytime soon

  • What a nasty Sky Hook!!!

  • Who is better Magic, Bird or Jordan? Alcindor, the master said.

  • sky hook is trademark jabbar

  • I Think kobe is way cooler for watching him Playing lol

  • They should specify that these were his top plays from the '85 Finals, not of his all-time playoff career. Otherwise, you'd have to put his stuff from Milwaukee (including the Game 6 double OT game winner in 1974).

  • Amazing giant men!

  • That sky hook is practically impossible to stop, just like Kobe's fadeaway jumper....LAKERS RULE now and then!!!!

  • @ACelloFella

    lol kareem is so big..

    yeaa u are right .. 100% agree

  • kobe's fadeaway jumper?! ... oh u mean the one he stole from MJ

  • Look closely. They have two different style jumpers, and I am sure that you are not telling me fadeaway jumpers only started with MJ.

  • @BethanNia489 it was only one slot in the MJ arsenal, if he focused on that, he would not have done nearly as well

  • @BethanNia489 you can steal shots from people???

  • @BethanNia489 I GOT NEWS FOR YOU ! THAT SHOT HAS BEEN AROUND LONGER THAN MJ ! CHECK ELGIN BAYLOR AND DR. J !

  • @BethanNia489 I GOT NEWS FOR YOU ! THAT SHOT HAS BEEN AROUND LONGER THAN MJ ! CHECK ELGIN BAYLOR AND DR. J ! AS A MATTER OF FACT, EVEN NORM NIXON USED THAT SHOT ROUTINELY BEFORE JORDAN CAME ALONG !

  • Ok no one add any more thumbs ups theres exactly 23 and that is supafly

  • @BethanNia489

If you want to go that far, then Jordan stole dunks from Dr.J

  • @prodiggy13 i'll go further for him. Jordan stole superstar status from Mikan. a Laker.

  • @BethanNia489 What do you mean steal? Do you want him to come up with a brand new shot or something?

  • @BethanNia489...has anyone else been able to do it as effective since Jordan? no, i don't think so...stop hating...

  • @conni70 Shit. A better question should be. Can we leave MJ off an irrelevant topic because this isn't about MJ, the same guy that won titles when the other teams were shit teams, only after they finally got past the ass spanking that the Pistons gave them. The other MJ aka Magic is the best player. When MJ can play all three position in his rookie year, MVP and championship, holler at me. That's a player. Kareem couldn't be stopped today.

  • @BethanNia489 kobe didn't stole MJ's fadeaway jumper. He just copied it. MJ still has it.

  • @natarts892000 He didn't even copy it. The fade away style that MJ shoots has been done years before Jordan started applying it. And he applied it because he no longer had that quick first step after coming out of his first retirement.

  • @BethanNia489 Kobe didn't steal anything from MJ. The fade away was way before MJ even put a basketball in his hands. The Pistons, the Bad Boys that was giving MJ and the Bulls an ass spanking had a center that was known for his unstoppable fade away, years before Jordan adopted the shot to replace his lost quick first step.

  • @ACelloFella

you should be ashamed of yourself, that is Michael Jordan fade-away jumper.

  • u are comparing good players like kobe bryant and shaq with one of the best 5 players within the history of NBA.. c'mon! use ur common sense!

  • oh my god.....fuckin funny man....good old Kareem....his number 9 play is....lol...him deflecting a ball and hustling.....kinda says alot...

  • at the end of number three listen closely somebody shouts "Fuck!"

  • Kareem would destroy O'neal with the hook, though i don't know if he could stop O'neal becasue Shaq is way stronger than him, but Kareem is taller and that's the worst thing for players like O'neal without shoothing range, If you keep Shaq 5 meters from the basket he would missed 90% of the shots, Jabbar could scor from the 3 point line.

  • How do you know Shaq is stronger? One thing I have learned in life is to never underestimate people.

  • Becasue i have all the history of the NBA uploaded to my channel?

  • That still doesn't prove anything. And making statements in the form of a question is a strange western phenomenon in communication.

  • Yeah, i'm not american and i like to digrees over actual facts and not just to post the opossite sentece in the way of a hater with no other intention than always argue about any thing putted out anywhere.

  • you're missing the point, shaq won't be 5 meters from the basket

  • No Bucks plays?

  • what two-man team was better at their time? kobe with shaq or magic with kareem. i say magic and kareem

  • Magic and Kareem were greater. Not only because they won 5 titles but because they really had no ego problems between them.

Magic just wanted to win and so did Kareem. They didnt care who got the credit as long as they won.

Though Kareem did get shortchanged in the media as far as recognition.

  • Well, Kobe is amazing and O'neal too, but Jabbar is better than O'neal and MAgic is more valuable than Kobe. I mean Jabbar would dominate O'neal with the eyes blinded and Magic letting him the ball, Kobe would keep ball ewith him and he would shot 46%.

  • @naruto121897 its not even a contest. 5 titles to 3, Magic and Kareem both top 5 all time. Shaq is barely top 10 if that and Kobe isn't at the Duncan/Wilt level yet

  • @halokid26 agreed! Magic and Kareem, one of the greatest duos in history!

  • In the 60's it was poor Lakers

  • Poor Celtics they allways lose to the Lakers.

  • not true i hat the celtics since im a laker fan but they have a 9-2 record against my lakers sadly in finals :(

  • are you serious?

  • jabbar goes well for the hook shot I guess.

  • haha common after seeing that 1 million times couldnt anyone defend that? of course u would have to be just as tall as him, maybe a black yao ming might of defended it? cuz common, just cheat and make him do something else

  • My all-time favorite basketball player!

  • Everybody remembers Kareem with the Lakers in his older year 40+ and he was still good.

I caught the tail end of his prime arond `77 `78 `79. He would dominate every night at both ends and do it in a way that was understated. It was like everybody expected it.

He would get a quiest 32 points 14 rebounds and block 4 or 5 shots like it was nothing.

Dont get him mad though or he`ll drop 40 on you.

  • ... It's just the same play every number....

... but they look good anyway....

  • kareem=greatest hook shot ever

  • Kareem Abdul-Jabbar is a living legend!

No one has been able to shoot a hook like that before or after Kareem!

  • @jimmieskaggs magic had a good baby hook

  • where is the 1974 nba finals game 6 skyhook, when he was in the bucks?

  • That was clutch.

  • Kareem was good and was also a great martial arts student for Bruce Lee, which is very respectful, but Michael Jordan is the best player ever in the game

  • Kareerm was so good, they(NCAA) banned the dunk after his 1st varsity year at UCLA. And he came after Russell and Chamberlain, giants in their own time. With all due respect to His Airness, what have they banned because of his greatness? And yes MJ was greater than great, but Kareem didn't need 7 years to win a ring and his 6 MVP's is still the most in the HISTORY of NBA.

  • Fair point, fair point.

  • Michael Jordan never had Kareem's hook shot

  • @juicystrawsoccer Kareem never had Michael' fadeaway...

  • @Skilllzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

So what?? Did MJ have Kareem's sky hook???

  • @juicystrawsoccer

    Jordan wasn't a center.

  • @juicystrawsoccer and kareem never had michael's................anything else

  • @juicystrawsoccer No one will ever have!

  • No one has been able to shoot a hook like that before or after Kareem. The guy wouldn't even be facing the basket and he could shoot it with the accuracy of a jump shot. I'm from Wisconsin and was in high school when the Bucks drafted him. He obtained most of his fame in L.A., but he led the Bucks to the NBS crown in his 2nd year as a pro. Bucks were in only their 3rd year of existence.

  • Make that "NBA". Sorry.

  • the best ever.... what an icon

  • Mr.Sky hook

  • @AllEyesOn08

I agree with you. He is the best player all time.

    Kareem (6x NBA Champion).

    Kareem (6x NBA MVP).

    Kareem (19x NBA All-Star).

  • I'm baffled when I think no one since has used the Skyhook like he did. It was unstoppable

  • KAREEM IS ARABIC WORD MEANS GIVENESS UNSELFISH, AND IT MATCH Kareem Abdul-Jabbar TO THE TEETH, HE USED TO ALWAYS SHARE THE BALL AND HE IS A TEAM PLAYER (THE CAPTAIN). I'M SO GLAD HE STIL WITH THE LOS ANGELES LAKERS ASSOCIATION HE IS JUST GREAT PERSON FROM ANY WAY YOU LOOK AT HIM, HE JUST HAVE TO SMILE MORE OFTEN HE IS ALWAYS SERIOUS BUT HE IS THE BEST WE ALL LOVE HIM. YOU SEE I'M THE BIGGEST LAKERS FAN EVER WALK THIS EARTH AND THAT'S ALL WHAT I BELIEVEIN GOLD AND PURPLE. GO LAKERS ALL HTE WAY!!!

  • so glad he's muslim

  • Kareem Abdul-Jabbar is the Pele of basketball, the Ali of basketball, the Woods of basketball, the Schumacher of basketbal, the Superman of basketbal!!!

  • hey for everyone who thinks hes the best player ever....your right! omg 31 thounsand somthing points, dude thats insanity, hes a freakin beast!

  • He was the greatest of all time.......Chamberlain had no 3 second rule in the early years and no 7 footers playing against him, so he had free reign.......Kareem could dominate in today's game because of that unstoppable shot, Chamberlain couldn't.

  • Kareem is the best player ever in my opinion. He had the combination of talent and brains. His hookshot was unstoppable.

  • his skai h00k!

  • what a smooth shot

  • I think Kareem is the best player ov all time.

  • @AllEyesOnMe08 yeah men

  • @AllEyesOnMe08 I respect him a lot but Wilt Chamberlain muffed him a lot.

  • #2 gives me goosebumps. My opinion is biased, of course, but to me, the best player ever.

  • wlay lani

  • he is a legend

  • Kareem and chamberlain were the top 2 Basket Ball players with the Funky Feel in those times...

  • he's amazing!

  • He is one of the greatest centers... Ever!

  • Kaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrreeeeeemmmmmm

He is the best Basketball Player of the World

  • whats with all the shots when hes breaking wests scoring record, like 9,8,7,6,5 were all just layups in the same game :S

    pretty crappy top ten

it should have been "kareem abdul-jabbars top ten playoff moments"

  • SKYHOOKS not layups Skyhooks. He was famous for them.

  • yer but comeon he did hundreds of them in his career and probly about 70 better plays than most of these plays

plus i know more about nba than you so SHUTUP!

  • the michael bay-esque music is a little annoying.

  • There plays are from the 1985 World Championship series. The #1 play is the last shot by Kareem in that series in which the Lakers finally beat the Celtics.
