@lummymanpix Yeap. And no one could stop him. Hence the highest scorer to date. What's gay are these punk ass athletes that don't play fundamentals, high flying, low scoring games and all about me attitude. The NBA sucks today. Kareem was more than a skyhook player. A finesse player that did more than that during his prime with the Bucks. Can you do better? Not.
Kareem has probably the most impressive and unstoppable hook shot in the history. Although I do believe Michael Jordan and maybe Kobe are better in a way. But they were different and this is just an opinion.
If we could bring back Russell, Wilt, and Kareem in the primes, only one would dominate today -- Kareem. Russell would be a watered down Hakeem, and Wilt would be a watered up Dwight Howard.
Only that magnificent Sky Hook would still dominate in today's game. That's why Kareem is the GOAT.
No, it's not 'practically' unstoppable. It is unstoppable. There's not even a close 2nd. Not Elvin's fadeaway, not MJ fadeaway, not Gervin's finger roll. The Kareem Sky Hook is the single best shot in NBA history. And Kareem's the best center who ever played the game.
@venuecam Bill Russel played at the time when there wasn't any great players (except Chamberlain) and Kareem played against old school players like Chamberlain and new age players like Olajuwon and crashed them all with the skyhooks! That's what greatness is all about!

#1 is the perfect example of why theres nothin better than winning a championship on your rival own court. Cause after that, they have nothing but respect for you, thats why they were quiet. But a legend. Kareem all day.
@BURRhypopo he was 38 years old when he won finals MVP, All time leader in points, among the leaders in rebounds, 6 NBA titles, 6 MVP's, 10 all NBA first teams, 5 all NBA second teams, 11 time all defensive team (5 1st, 6 2nd), his 72 season is the best single season all time for a center (34-16-4, no clue how many blocks but averaged 3.5-4 when they started keeping track) surest 2 points in basketball, won finals mvps 14 years apart
@Fernandocatan well one of those is correct. but what i saw was: #10 regular block, #9 an intercepted pass, #8 8pts from record, #7 6pts from record, #6 2pts from record, #5 ties record, #4 beats record, #3 one handed shot, #2 fastbreak postup and skyhook, #1 skyhook.... the skyhook obviously is a good shot, but how is the rest supposed to tell me how good he is. from research he played 1560 games with 38k pts. compared to, for eg MJ, who had 1072 games with 32k pts. educate me please :S

Kareem won 6 MVP, there must be a reason for that!

3 more highlights should be added to this video....1. Kareem breaking the scoring record....2. Kareem hitting his one and only 3-point shot....3. Kareem's most amazing hook--a 20-footer in Portland.
@jjhdouble Ahh....another Celtic fan still in denial about a few nights ago....BOOHOO for you!! Celtics were only better than the Lakers in the 60s. Wilt and Kareem had better stats than Russell and Parish and in the 80s, the Lakers almost always beat the Celts in the regular season and beat the Celts 2 out of 3 in the Finals. Plus from '89-2007 the Celtics were nothing and many of those years they SUCKED BAD!! All during those years, the Lakers just kept winning and winning and winning

@thesix107 yiep its a lost art, the next center or PF thats over 7ft and gets the skyhook to perfection like jabbar did, is gonna be a lethal weapon, but looks like its not gonna happen anytime soon
Hey guys, have anyone tried the nba training program for dunking and shooting? Even players like Kobe, Ray Allen and Agent Zero have used it before. If you don’t know what I’m talking about, take a look at snipurl[dot]com/nbatraining
They should specify that these were his top plays from the '85 Finals, not of his all-time playoff career. Otherwise, you'd have to put his stuff from Milwaukee (including the Game 6 double OT game winner in 1974).

@natarts892000 He didn't even copy it. The fade away style that MJ shoots has been done years before Jordan started applying it. And he applied it because he no longer had that quick first step after coming out of his first retirement.
@BethanNia489 Kobe didn't steal anything from MJ. The fade away was way before MJ even put a basketball in his hands. The Pistons, the Bad Boys that was giving MJ and the Bulls an ass spanking had a center that was known for his unstoppable fade away, years before Jordan adopted the shot to replace his lost quick first step.

Well, Kobe is amazing and O'neal too, but Jabbar is better than O'neal and MAgic is more valuable than Kobe. I mean Jabbar would dominate O'neal with the eyes blinded and Magic letting him the ball, Kobe would keep ball ewith him and he would shot 46%.
@naruto121897 its not even a contest. 5 titles to 3, Magic and Kareem both top 5 all time. Shaq is barely top 10 if that and Kobe isn't at the Duncan/Wilt level yet
haha common after seeing that 1 million times couldnt anyone defend that? of course u would have to be just as tall as him, maybe a black yao ming might of defended it? cuz common, just cheat and make him do something else
Everybody remembers Kareem with the Lakers in his older year 40+ and he was still good.
I caught the tail end of his prime arond `77 `78 `79. He would dominate every night at both ends and do it in a way that was understated. It was like everybody expected it.
He would get a quiest 32 points 14 rebounds and block 4 or 5 shots like it was nothing.
Kareem was good and was also a great martial arts student for Bruce Lee, which is very respectful, but Michael Jordan is the best player ever in the game
Kareerm was so good, they(NCAA) banned the dunk after his 1st varsity year at UCLA. And he came after Russell and Chamberlain, giants in their own time. With all due respect to His Airness, what have they banned because of his greatness? And yes MJ was greater than great, but Kareem didn't need 7 years to win a ring and his 6 MVP's is still the most in the HISTORY of NBA.
No one has been able to shoot a hook like that before or after Kareem. The guy wouldn't even be facing the basket and he could shoot it with the accuracy of a jump shot. I'm from Wisconsin and was in high school when the Bucks drafted him. He obtained most of his fame in L.A., but he led the Bucks to the NBS crown in his 2nd year as a pro. Bucks were in only their 3rd year of existence.
KAREEM IS ARABIC WORD MEANS GIVENESS UNSELFISH, AND IT MATCH Kareem Abdul-Jabbar TO THE TEETH, HE USED TO ALWAYS SHARE THE BALL AND HE IS A TEAM PLAYER (THE CAPTAIN). I'M SO GLAD HE STIL WITH THE LOS ANGELES LAKERS ASSOCIATION HE IS JUST GREAT PERSON FROM ANY WAY YOU LOOK AT HIM, HE JUST HAVE TO SMILE MORE OFTEN HE IS ALWAYS SERIOUS BUT HE IS THE BEST WE ALL LOVE HIM. YOU SEE I'M THE BIGGEST LAKERS FAN EVER WALK THIS EARTH AND THAT'S ALL WHAT I BELIEVEIN GOLD AND PURPLE. GO LAKERS ALL HTE WAY!!!
Kareem Abdul-Jabbar is the Pele of basketball, the Ali of basketball, the Woods of basketball, the Schumacher of basketbal, the Superman of basketbal!!!
He was the greatest of all time.......Chamberlain had no 3 second rule in the early years and no 7 footers playing against him, so he had free reign.......Kareem could dominate in today's game because of that unstoppable shot, Chamberlain couldn't.
There plays are from the 1985 World Championship series. The #1 play is the last shot by Kareem in that series in which the Lakers finally beat the Celtics.

Dont get him mad though or he`ll drop 40 on you.

where is the 1974 nba finals game 6 skyhook, when he was in the bucks?

That was clutch.

Kareem was good and was also a great martial arts student for Bruce Lee, which is very respectful, but Michael Jordan is the best player ever in the game
IceRice3000 2 years ago

Bucks were in only their 3rd year of existence.

hey for everyone who thinks hes the best player ever....your right! omg 31 thounsand somthing points, dude thats insanity, hes a freakin beast!
turkeysandwhich1 3 years ago 6
He was the greatest of all time.......Chamberlain had no 3 second rule in the early years and no 7 footers playing against him, so he had free reign.......Kareem could dominate in today's game because of that unstoppable shot, Chamberlain couldn't.
tomorrow21 3 years ago 3
Kareem is the best player ever in my opinion. He had the combination of talent and brains. His hookshot was unstoppable.

There plays are from the 1985 World Championship series. The #1 play is the last shot by Kareem in that series in which the Lakers finally beat the Celtics.
