  • What do think about chon hair being remove by electrolysis?

  • @melly90xx

Electrolysis is the only way to go. As I state in my video "Electrolysis is the ONLY permanent form of hair removal"

  • NIce Video I'm looking into becoming a technician to offer electrolysis from home. You look like a lovely person, you have a very warm energy :)

  • Theres a video of a girl like you, but her video says that if you have dark hair on light skin laser is better. And even though i am brown, my hair is black?

    SO what do you reccomend.

  • Thank you vert much. I know you said laser isnt perminent, but, i wa slooking up prices and it was WAY cheaper, even after adding up how many time you need to go back.

As a 17 year old, who has a very hairy belly, and i am 6'2. How many session of 30min would it take you to funny clean my entire belly hair. Mind you it cover the whole belly, not passing over to the back, and not going over the chest.

How many sessions estimate would it take you?

  • I have a question. I have been debating Laser vs Electrolysis. Now I am a Borwn person and i was doing research and i heard laser could hurt my pigment.

I want to know if Electrolysis is better for me?

  • @oogyboogysnoogy

Besides the fact that I say in my video "laser is NOT permanent hair removal" your right it can hurt your skin as it attacks pigment. On the other hand electrolysis will work and shouldn't hurt your skin. If your hair is curly you may need to have galvanic or blend method of electrolysis, just ask the electrologist what method they use.

  • Hey, I am a 14 yr old girl with dark long arm hair. I was wondering if there is a age limit for electrolysis? Also, how can you find the right, good-trained electrologist in my area? I live in Maryland and I don't know where to go to for? Do i have to pay for the interview? thanx.

  • Question:does ALL the hair come back on your face after laser hair removal or does just SOME of it come back?? Just wanted to make sure about that. Thanks. I have DARK hair by the way. Thanks again.

  • After 10 or 12 treatments your hair will start coming back about 6-12 months later but you should have about 20% of your hair permanently gone and 80% will return. It will also make electrolysis more difficult after the hair returns.

  • Can you use at home electolysis kits? What do you need to look for? which ones are most effective? Thanks.

  • Home electrolysis are a waste of money. They are not strong enough and you need to be trained. You ca n damage your skin. Just remember the old saying "if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is"!!!

  • nicely presented xxxx Jim

  • So basically If I just forget about removing my facial hair with laser and just go straight with electrolysis, will my hair be permanently removed for life at the same time being less painful than laser removal????

  • No, it will take longer to have your hair removed with electrolysis. Electrolysis is less painful but there is a lot more of it. when you have your hair removed by laser it will start growing back in 6-12 months. once your hair is removed by electrolysis it is gone permanently.

  • 2 other questions...

    1. Is electrolysis able to remove blonde hair or does it only target dark pigment like laser?

    2. Can electrolysis remove hair over tattooed areas without removing the actual ink like laser?

  • 1. electrolysis works on all hair colors

    2. electrolysis won't affect tattoos

  • Thank Julia, I'll see what I'll find, God Bless! ^_-

  • Hi Julia, I had a question. Does electrolysis hurt a lot after you've done sessions of laser hair removal? I live in an area that where electrolysis is not available but laser is. I'll probably be moving more up north to a place where they specialize in electrolysis. I would like to know how painful it can be after numerous sessions of laser. By the way , what is "standard electrolysis"? is it the same as regular electroylsis?

  • Electrolysis doesn't hurt more after laser but it makes the electrologists job harder. I've never used the term standard electrolysis though I believe a person using that term is probably referring to galvanic electrolysis which hurts a lot more than thermolysis which I do, ti's also a lot slower. Unless your hair grows very curly your better off with thermolysis.

  • This was a very informative video, nice to actually hear it from a professional.

The only real downside I see with electrolysis is the sheer cost of getting large areas of body hair removed.

I've heard it can be several thousand just to do someone's calves. Is this correct?

  • Your right, it does get expensive. What I recommend to my transgender patients is to remove their facial hair with electrolysis and have the body hair done with laser. The reason is that because body hair is much thinner and weaker laser is more effective. After about 10-15 sessions, you may get 50 long term to permanent hair removal and on the legs from that point get an epilator and use it once every week or 2 and the legs will look fine.

  • Ah, good advice.

    Thanks for answering my question.

    :)

  • wonderful video, I am about to make a decision and this has helped me...ELECTROLYSIS.

  • Julia,

Could you get in touch to discuss a consultation? Thanks. Cheryl

  • Is electrolosys very painful for facial hair removal compared to laser hair removal???

  • That is hard to answer. Each jolt of laser is more painful but a laser session is shorter than each electrolysis session. In all it will be way less pain if you start off with electrolysis because if you do laser you will still have to do electrolysis after the hair removed by laser grows back. Remember LASER IS NOT PERMANENT YOUR HAIR WILL GROW BACK, ELECTROLYSIS IS PERMANENT!!!

  • i've got hair on my back and i've got 8 sessions of laser done on my back and i didn't got much result. what is the best thing 2 do?? thanks a lot

  • Laser is usually more efficient on body hair than on facial hair but if it didn't work at all the only thing you can do is electrolysis. As I said in my video, electrolysis is the only permanent form of hair removal!

  • Really helpful. Thank you! I am looking to permanently removed only my underarm hair, but it is just good to know everything before going in for any treatment!

  • After sifting through hundreds upon hundred of stupid expertvillage videos, I find one that actually answers my question... and I'm not even a tranny. Good info

  • Thanks for the nice comment

  • Is it better to do hormoes first and laser hair removal afterwards cause the hair will continue to grow over the yrs after the laser in areas where its never grown before for someone in ages 18 - 30 . That would mean they would have to get laser every few yrs when hair appears in new areas, right? So isnt doing hormones first better.

  • hello doctor, plz am in a massive need for ur help

When i was 15 i've been diagnosed with PCOS with all its symptoms. And 2 yrs ago i had 8 laser sessions to remove my facial hair, actually it just got worse the hairs became way more thicker that i cant deal with it anymore. Mirically this year my menstrual cycle became very regular and the ovarian cysts mostly vanished :) but the hairs r still the same.. what do u recommend me to do plz to atleast get my old thin facial hairs back?

    thx a bunch

  • HI, though I may be an expert on hair removal, I'm not a doctor. If your hormones are in balance, you should be able to have your hair gone forever by Electrolysis. As you have seen laser is not the answer.

  • thx a bunch u just cheered me up :D i really hope it gives me a permanent result.. how many sessions will that take plz ? ofcourse it depends on the thickness of the hairs but can u give me a range..

  • and one more ques.. what about the hairs that were thin by nature and due to laser became dark n thicker?? as i heard unactive follicles become active, can the vice versa happen with electrolysis ??

  • No, once the hair are gone by electrolysis, they're gone for good.

As for how many session, I'm sorry but without seeing you I couldn't even guess how many sessions, there are so many factors to how long it will take.

  • thxxx,,, ure the best :D

  • Good points am a qualified electrologist and far too often have customers who have lost alot off money on laser!

  • hello no because a probe is inserted into an active hair root.

  • I have a question I am a guy have a lot of hair and tomorrow I am going to go for a consultation in Oklahoma because they have a deal you buy one you get one free. I do not want to invest my money in something that will not work. Can you help here?

  • Sorry I took so long to get back to you. Buy one get one free sounds like your talking about laser, if so I hope you didn't go for it because as I say in my video, laser is not permanent.

  • I have a question about redness with electrolysis. I've had weekly 2 hour sessions for the last 6 weeks and I have redness all under my chin where i had a heavy beard. the redness doesn't go away. There is swelling at first but that goes away in a few days. Is this normal? Will the redness eventually go away? Is it possible to have overtreatment? She sets the machine pretty high and it can be pretty painful. If i stopped for a few weeks maybe that would give it more time to recover?

  • It is normal to have redness and yes it will go away. It really shouldn't really take more than a couple of days for the redness to go away. You may want to ask your electrologist to turn the machine down a little, it should still work.

  • Thanks, it's just that its been really red for weeks and it swells SO much its like i have a huge goiter or something. but as long as its not something more serious and it eventually goes away, its o.k. The plus side is, most of the hair is gone! That feels so good! o.k., thanks again for all the info!

  • This is very confusing to me, because I've had 2 or 3 one hour long sessions of electolysis on my face (upper lip and under bottom lip) and didn't see much improvement. But now I just fininished 10 sessions of laser on my entire beard area and I've seen a considerable improvement on my upper lip and chin. The rest of my face is almost hair-free. I'm a trans woman - continued

  • Electrolysis is very slow but it's permanent. laser may be fast but within a year your hair will start growing back. Everyone who doesn't listen ends up coming back and saying "you were right my hair grew back" Because laser works so fast people want to believe it will work, but it won't and I hate to have to tell you this but it will make your electrolysis in the future harder to do.

  • That's pretty devastating to hear, but I guess it's better to find out now that spend more money on laser.

  • There is medication he or she can put you on. You can in the mean time take a supplement, Saw Palmetto, this is a supplement you can buy at a drugstore or vitamin shop. Saw Palmetto is known to block DHT which is a form testosterone which makes hair grow. It will help but is not as good as what the doctor will prescribe.

  • Thanks so much for the advice!

  • What you have is a condition called Hirsutism. Whether Electrolysis will work depends on if your hair is vellus hair or terminal hair. Electrolysis only works on terminal hair. If you r hair is terminal hair, electrolysis will work but if your testosterone levels are too high, there are other follicles that will become activated. the solution would be to have your hair removed by electrolysis and go to an endocrinologist and have your hormones balanced.

  • I'm a biological female but I have a lot of facial hair. I have to shave twice a day. I've been shaving, tweezing and using nair for like 10 years and it just keeps getting worse. If I have too much testosterone or whatever is giving me hair will that make the electrolysis not permanent? Will it grow back anyway because of some condition I have? How many treatments usually until finished? I have very sensitive skin, is there a risk for scarring? thanks so much for the informative video!

  • FFS testosterone >:O so anoyin -.-

  • ? I don't understand the comment?

  • never mind, its just me moaning about stuff : /

  • I love your accent.

  • That's why I make these videos, to help people to make the right decision and not waste their money on laser.

  • if i have light brown skin will it work on me? :o

  • Why Does It have To Be So Damn Difficult. It's Depressing, I've Had Laser And I Feel Like My Life Is Over Because It Didn't Work. I'm Disgusted

  • Hi, I'm a 25 years old woman. I have thin but very dark hair. How long will it take to remove the hair on my face, armpits, arms and legs? and how much will it cost?

    Thanks for the great video!

  • That's hard to say, I would need to know how much hair you have. Most of my patients are having their face cleared and a full face of hair takes approximately 200 hours at a cost of $65 per hour.

  • There is many kinds of Laser, do they all have the same effects?

Also, there is the Pulse light...

    Is it good/better than laser?

I wonder how much sessions of electrolysis would it take to do the whole face... *kinda worrying*

    ty very much for answering!

  • some lasers are better than others at the time of treatment but none of them are permanent including IPL (pulse light).

As far as how many treatments of electrolysis it will take, that depends on how long the treatments are. I've done 1/2 hour treatments and I've done 4 hour treatments. It also depends on how much hair you have to start. It can take 100 hours and it can take 300 hours. Important thing is after electrolysis is done it's gone for good!

  • oh I see! Does female hormones helps to reduce /body/ hairs?

I know it doesn't change a thing for the face, though.

    thanks again ^^

  • Some people believe it does but I think it just slows down the growth but doesn't reduce the reduce the amount of hair.

  • if you did lazer on your face, when the hair gros back will it be permanately thinner or the same thik stubble?

Or thin at first but thik once you shaved it?

  • At first it will grow back thinner but after a while the hair papilla will repair itself and the hair will go back to the thickness it originally was.

  • I know this isnt related to the topic but by taking female hormones will your breats grow large enough to not need implants? even if you happen to be 30 or 35yrs old age?

  • That would be hard to say. Everyone is different and grows differently. it also depends on what you feel is large enough. statistics say that after 30 you might get an A or small B cup.

  • What about electrolysis etc around the Genitalia for transwomen? if you could please message me about it or something let me know ^^"

  • I know this isnt related to the topic but by taking female hormones will your breats grow large enough to not need implants?

  • It depends on your age and how big is large enough for you. If you haven't finished puberty, the chances are your breasts will grow considerably.

  • I'm glad to hear your having good progress. May I suggest trying to have your electrologist start working on clearing a specific area, like your upper lip for a while, I think you will find your results will be even .

  • I have red hair, so laser is pretty much useless to me. I've been getting electrolysis over the last couple of years at a slow pace. One hour per week.

Instead of clearing out one section at a time, my doctor has been jumping around clearing them out at random, to basically thin out the beard.

Of course I still have a beard, but at this point it's extemely thinned out. Enough where there's no shadow and my razors last alot longer.

  • Great chat on Dihydrotestosterone (DHT)! That I found to be highly important hon! Keep educting the community!~hugs~ Ar'lene

  • I thought electolysis Was the same as laser. . .

    guess not. . .

well this was definitely an informative video! : )

wow, I didn't realize there were unactive hair follicles that could come active even after electrolysis. . .but after you mention it I find it makes TOTAL sense. I just hadn't thought about it before.

  • electrolosis WORKED for me.......but like everything on EARTH it just takes TIME.......=)......your the BESTEST JULIA

  • Thanks,

I'm glad you had good results

  • i have not encountered permanence with either... areas cleared more than once over have returned fully first with elctrolysis, then laser. i tried 3 electrolysists and one laser practitioner... what now?

  • Laser has to legally be advertised as "permanent hair reduction." That statement is not incorrect.

  • Your right, Isn't that what I said?
