  • SHUT UP, JUST SFTU ALREADY!

  • cobalt all the way!

  • dude it honestly isnt that fast i have a 2002 vw jetta vr6 and i put a procharger on it and raced a cobalt ss that was TWIN TURBOED and still whipped his ass i mean it wasnt even competition i just pulled on em and left em in the dust

  • @prowdowners10 right twin turbo .........what year was his car.....and i bet u...just roughly..that ur fullashyt

  • @YellowCamaro85 Check his vids...looks like he drives a Grand Prix...not even a GTP.

However a procharger will pull really hard as they spool up nice and high like a turbo. Still not sure what he's getting at...or why someone would have a TT setup on a Cobalt.

  • @prowdowners10 twin charge is a super and a turbo...

  • @LUDE4LIFE its hysterical that your still commenting on a youtube vid for over 2 years.....

  • @sciullo779 What's even funnier that you realized that he posted this comment 2 years ago- yet you couldn't take back the ignorant remark you made! Now that is ownage, faggot!

  • @CtRacerX his oldest commest was 2 years old, and the newest was around a week ago and he commented quite a bit in between... im confused at what im getting owned at......

  • @sciullo779 Any replys are forwarded to my email. It's hysterical to see that you are not smart enough to have thought of that.

  • @LUDE4LIFE1 have thought of what? nothing you say makes any sense,

  • @Marshmallowrex so why would you do that? torque steer right in the bum. BAM

  • but it's still fwd...

  • ECOTEC is the best

  • I'm sorry, but did I miss the number?

  • nice video, too bad you dont have the camera pointed at the tach that way i could see when it hits full boost, sounds about 3-4000 which isnt bad thats evo/sti/srt4 spool up territory, hows the transient response?? and do you get a lot of wheelspin?? i currently have an evo8 with almost 400 hp, i dont get much wheel spin except in first gear, but thats one thing about fwd, above 350 whp wheelspin becomes an issue, unless ur roll racing.

  • Eh 23.5

  • told my girlfriend awhile ago, if I win the lottery my 2007 Cobalt LT sedan is getting twinturboed...ultimate sleeper \m/

  • okay can someone help me out here

I see that the SS model for the cobalt has just a regular SS and a Supercharged SS? Can you fit a turbo on both?

    THNX

  • @tim34lumnewb 08 and 09 is stock with a Turbo.

  • Unless you forge the engine, that car is not gonna take much more of that. That goes for any assembly production line engine.

  • are there any downfalls on this kit? would you reccomend it?

  • @RicanPito - Street 400whp, Do you have a supercharged or turbocharged Cobalt? If it is a standard engine naturally aspirated, you should consider getting an SS first. Definately going with a Twincharged setup is much better than any other car. To Lude4life1. Your Friend can do all this stuff with SRT's, And Cobalts blah blah. But do you know exactly how much money it takes to make an Ecotec or SRT motor produce 7 second quarters? You could purchase a home for less money.

  • @killerwhale187 it requres a minimum of 150k to pull 7's out of any car

  • @2002j30a1

Big block with forged pistons and strong bottom end + BIG shot of nitrous. That will get you the HP, then you've got 130k to get the rest of the car there.

  • @Jakalwarrior but to keep it running? at 9 and below most people have barely short of a race crew

  • I want a 400whp Cobalt . Unfortunately I will pay out the ass because I can't do the work myself . Any good builders in New England ? I'd settle for 365whp .

  • turbo lag is almost never noticeable.

  • I love how they didn't post numbers...who takes a dyno video then doesn't show what the car made? Hmm must be people with a car and a tiny turbo that spools fast to 23psi and makes no power...

  • @mccaf2250 Well..not sure what that car did..id say over 400whp..but zzp has a few cobalts out there over 500...soo

  • @mccaf2250 Surely it isn't the guy with the same username and two other videos of both 372 and 440 on the rollers! I mean, that tiny turbo that just CAN'T make power and only spools fast. Ya must not have much experience with boosted applications if you think this video sounds like an undersized turbo.

  • @v8rangerboy You gotta be crazy...my new turbo is a garret 60 trim and that thing sounds like a jet taking off and will net me around 500whp at 25psi. However the whole point of "twin charged" is a smaller turbo spooling a larger turbo so there is NO lag. SOO of course there is one small turbo and then another one to make the hp. I have turbo charged 3 cars with my own hands and I'm currently trying to figure out my own standalone wiring...A mechanical engineering degree helps me figure it out.

  • @mccaf2250 Haha yeah I was being completely sarcastic :P. I simply thought you were implying they had rigged in a tiny turbo with some kind of huge choke problem at top end just to make a convincing video. And yeah, I totally understand twincharging.... currently in the process of mathing up my own two-stage for my car. High-five on the ME... it's treated me well also. :)

  • @v8rangerboy Cool man Goodluck with your setup I gotta go throw my new race bearings in my block and go pick up my head from the machine shop. 2 weeks till I'm done so much work I cant wait!! I do however feel twin charging is inefficient and just using one larger turbo with the proper setup can net better results. That's why most of the 7sec drag cars all have one giant turbo the size of a basketball.

  • @mccaf2250 Yeah, it's all a big trade-off. If I were building something to only race, it would be all turbo. But for a fairly-often street driven and all-around fun car, I think this will work out awesome for responsiveness and results. Time will tell!

  • @v8rangerboy BTW no one on the internet understands sarcasm I was just busting his balls for not putting numbers.

  • omg that was cool.

  • i bet a lot of yuppies think VW came up with this idea first. They'd be dead wrong!

  • Go look up this guy named Jason Whitfield. END OF SHIT TALKING BOUT COBALTS

  • that hit 25psi

  • lol small turbine's equal no lag, its pretty simple

  • Comment removed

  • lol first calm down and breath, you are going to live

second, try spooling 70 or 80mm, thats lag. what you say has no meaning, turbine size has nothing to do with psi potential for a turbo.

    3rd i didn't say it was a small turbine, I said small TURBINE's, that equals 2.

4th gj for your buddy, bad job for you

5th no one said anything about power or powerful except you, because your power tripping.....relax friend of a cool guys car.

bov urself, turbo kit sounds tough though. GJ ZZp Turbo

  • @xxxxdarksidexxxx 70 or 80 mm turbo would never be on a 4 cylinder car so that right there sounds ignorant as hell. This car, with a 57mm turbo only and no blower, would have turbo lag. Im not power tripping, youre bein a dbag listin stupid shit off, and fuck ZZP, youve obviously never dealt with them, they might have some of the best stuff out for cobalts but alot of them are complete dipshits

  • @40roll google is your friend, so go fucking seach for a 70 or 80mm turboed i4 ok its possible.

  • lmfao @ srtracerboy i can discredit you because you cant even spell? i think that could be one reason. dont you??

  • how much was the kit

  • to much. All you girly boys need to stop blowing money on FWD turds.

  • dude i have a 79 corvette pushing 475rwhp so i can put money in any car i want

  • no like u puttin the money

  • Guys i got a question. Since GTPs also can be twincharged. When GTP's SC is taken off and running a decent turbo they often run roughly low 10-12's. How much do twincharges run?

  • also I REALLY Would Love this Setup,

  • y r we talking aout doge when this is a chevy video

  • Kids And Their Arguments.

Dodge Neon Is Called A Neon SRT-4 Just as the Caliber version is called Caliber SRT-4 And The Cobalt is A Cobalt, It is the successor to the Cavalier and The cause of is demise. The Balt Also Is a Redesigned Rebuilt, STRONGER, BETTER, FASTER Version of the Original Cavi Motor. And FYI A Neon SRT-4 Stock does NOT Put 350 to the wheels. It doesnt Even Get 300. Its 257 WHPand advertised as 300 the stock 07 Balt is 200 WHP (Maybe) The new Caliber Gets JUST over 300 WHP

  • @RatzSSSC wouldnt it b FWHP? dont forget though there r 3 stages of the srt-4. stage one puches about 276. whwen u hit stage 3 it pushs just over 300 i think. im not sure.

  • Lol Im Not sure And Yeah I unno Im a Balt guy man lol

And stage Three for a balt? is only like 260 hp....

  • i have a cobalt ss/tc and the motor last way longer than any srt-4... all my internals are stock and they come forged from the factory...

  • I have a cobalt ss/tc all internals are forged but the pistons are not.

  • dude factory srt4's can hold over 400WHP factory and roll way past 100k miles... theres hundreds of em

  • and wheres your proof of this? not the forged part, of corse there forged some thats just stupid to think there not

  • my turbo spools faster

  • yea but ur still driving a neon

  • yeah, and your still driving a cavalier

  • if he was driving a cavalier.....it wouldn't be called a cobalt....just sayin..

  • and if i was driving a neon it wouldnt be called an srt-4. just sayin, and the cobalt design is REALLY too similar to the 2nd gen neon, so i wouldnt be bitchin about the neon because there a great car

  • yeah except your car IS a neon srt4. the cobalt is just, a cobalt. i never said anything abd about them. all i was saying is that if he drove a cavalier...his car would be called a cavalier, not a cobalt.

  • my car is a dodge srt-4, it was never titled a neon from dodge. im willing to admit my car is on the neon platform, but of corse your not willing to admit the cobalt is just an updated cavi

  • NOTHING is shared between the J and the Cobalt except the drive train.

    Updated Cavalier?

    You sir are an idiot.

  • thats like saying the 2000 and up neons arent neons, there sx 2.0's nothing about them is the same but it is esensialy an updated version of the last. and yes cobalt is cavi's predecessor, and have you seen how much the body design has quite a few 2000+ neon looks. so your saying because fords new taurus sho must not be a Taurus because it doesnt share anything in common with the old Taurus. that is exactly the type of responce id expect from idiots like you

  • Your analogy is remedial at best.

It's NOT like saying the 2nd generation Neon's aren't neons because guess what? They're CALLED Neon's FFS.

A Cobalt is NOT a Cavalier. How hard is that for you to understand.

BTW Ford brought back the Taurus name because the 500 looked and sold like shit. I kinda like the new Taurus.

  • and the ford fact you just brought up is exactly why they freshened up the cavi and renamed it the cobalt

  • there is also a caliber srt-4 it wouldnt be called just an srt-4 dumbass. if youre gonna talk shit on cobalt vids then get outta here and stop watching them.

  • For one neons look like complete shit! The motors dont last for shit when upgraded. My bestfriend has a neon srt-4 his dad is a master mechanic and completely built this neon. this guy knows what he is doing. it made 476hp idk how much tq i forgot. He took it to the strip 5th pass the motor took a shit. idk if it was bad luck or just the shit motor. my point is whatever you do to your little srt-4 you keep talking shit until it blows up.

  • well obviously your friends dad must not be a performance mechanic, just a regular oil changer. and looks are obviously your opinion because there are ALOT of people that wouldnt agree with you. and as far as the motors not lasting long, there are tons of examples of 400hp srt's making it over 130k miles, which is extreamly good for stock engines with almost double the hp, and the srt-4 was just called the "srt-4" when it came out because the caliber wasnt out yet

  • i didnt mean to hoe on every neon its just all the expierences ive seen, to me personally, its not worth my money its just my opinion. i was just pissed that you started hoeing on cobalt's. people really underestimate these cars. my bad srtracerboy but his dad is not the average mechanic lol.

  • @SrtRacerBoy no one cares or believes you

  • oh and i bet your a real reputable source. nobody hasto beleave me, just google "srtforums 500hp" and it should be one of the first ones, 500hp is unreliable but on stock everything 400-450 is going to be pritty safe, so what information exactly do you have to discredit me?

  • thats bullshit.. every possible things went wrong on my evo and my buddies srt just keeps going, he only changed axels

  • hahahaha

  • this twin charged cobalt would eat you. they are very fast but dont last long.

  • How do you know it could last longer then a cobalt engine. I have seen one of my friends go through 4 srt-4 motors in the last 2 years making over 400whp!!! Grab a video of your cars boost gauge.

  • because its a fact that the srt engine can hold 400 fine and cobalts just dont last long like that and as for your "friend" he should learn to tune his car better unless your friend has a 600hp beast then i can understand it breaking stock internals. and as for the guage ill see if i can tomorrow

  • My friend has been racing SRT-4's for years. He knows what he is doing with them. The cobalt ss turbo is the fastest FWD production car in north america. It makes a stock SRT-4 look silly on the track. The turbo ecotec motor is also the fastest fwd in the world at 7.15 over 200mph. Don't preach about what the cobalt engine can do when the DODGE products are so far behind the competition in the pro series it's not even funny. You have no idea, and are so biased you think your car issuperior

  • calm down. its only the fastest by a little bit, and it sure doesnt get to that speed the fastest and it does have way better areodynamics to help it get there, and the one that ran the world record didnt have one trace of ecotec under the hood.

  • @LUDE4LIFE1 see that the fastest cobalt is sponsored by red bull running 7's and the fastest srt4 is not sponsored by a company like that and ran 7's i don't see how it's that far behind

  • @nickv11763 The DCR SRT-4 that ran 7's was sponsored by Mopar.

  • @LUDE4LIFE1 dude look at the bodies of the cars if the cobalt didn't have the word's "COBALT" on the front you wouldn't even know it was a cobalt

  • @nickv11763 I see what your saying, but both cars are pro compact, and both are running in the same class. The Red Bull is just almost a second faster in the 1/4!!!!

  • @LUDE4LIFE1 and the reason being is the aerodynamic light weight body, the only thing cobalt about that car is the block atleast you can tell they the other is a srt4 with a body kit, huge wing, and wheelie bars, the cobalt isn't even the body it started with

  • @LUDE4LIFE1 dont sleep on the csrt4s my dude

  • @LUDE4LIFE1 also dodge is going under because theyre the only ones going cheaper and cheaper in quality (especially on interiors) while gm is constantly stepping up their game, and ford really went up a level with cars like the taurus... buick in particular really increased build quality, also ecotec engines took some awards from WARDS AUTOWORLD as in top 10 engines worldwide

  • @rcrocker02 true shit right there! my moms 2008 durango is a BIG P.O.S the damn navigation keeps going black, no radio, no more movie. P.O.S! then we turn off car and restart and it works good... until it happens again!

P.S. DONT BUY A DODGE DURANGO! THEY SUCK!

  • @LUDE4LIFE1 scion tc has the record at 6.87 if i am right

  • @2002j30a1 Yes that is the new record. My original post was over a year ago.

  • @LUDE4LIFE1 DSM is still the 4 cyclinder king.

  • @turbodsm7 RWD yes. FWD no. It's still the overall fastest though, so you are correct. Never said anything towards Brent Rau's Eclipse not being the fastest, so your comment is useless.

  • @LUDE4LIFE1 I did not mention FWD or RWD or Brent's car. I was just simply stating that the 4g63 is still the 4 cylinder king and has been since 1990. You would think after the stopping of production of the 4g that the others would catch up. They haven't. And considering that Chevrolet went to Mitsubishi to help them design the ECOTEC motor it would be better? Nope. So as useless as the comment may be, I am merely bragging.

  • @turbodsm7 I am pretty certain it was either Opel or Honda that helped out GM with the Ecotec?

  • @LUDE4LIFE1 They had a team of 230 engineers designing that engine. Opel was involved. But the block was modeled after the 4g

  • @turbodsm7 Interesting. I will have to look more into this. I have honestly never heard of Mitsubishi having any involment with the Ecotec engine.

  • @LUDE4LIFE1 I forget where I read it, If I could find it I would link it. Ecotec is a strong motor no doubt I just have a undying passion for the 4g63.

  • @turbodsm7 Same here. They hold boost like champs. I am looking to get out of the Honda scene and grab myself either a z06 or EVO once I finish school.

  • @LUDE4LIFE1 it might be the fastest FWD car in the world, but DSM is STILL holding the record for fastest 4cyl in the WORLD. Damn those Gm engineer's cant even beat 20 year on technology..... SAD

  • @bottlefedtsi Not anymore. And what are talking about 20 year old technology lol. Do you think the technology used to run those DSM's down the 1/4 is 20 year old technology? lol, SAD that you think that way. The technology used is from today!! There is nothing stock in a 6 second Eclipse except for the the bare block and head! If your statement was true then they would have been running 6's 20 years ago!!!

  • @LUDE4LIFE1 LOL shows how much you know... Brent Rau STILL has the record for fastest 4cyl in the world. 6.97 at 198.. learn your shit..... as far as technology is concerned. you say they still use the head casting from a DSM WHICH IS 20 YEARS OLD. the head on the Evo is FAR superior then that head design used on Brent Rau's car. KTHXBYE

  • @bottlefedtsi Chris Rado's car holds the record now! Learn your shit, lol. Casting has nothing to do with being 20 year old technology lol. Everything the head is built with, and how it is ported etc, IS NEW TECHNOLOGY. Again nothing on Brent Rau's car is 20 year technology you moron. The head on any EVO is nothing compared to the one on Brent Rau's car, or else they would be making more power and running faster times lol. You sound foolish.

  • @bottlefedtsi If you want to talk about the head used on 4 cylinder cars, well it's pretty said how poorly the 4G heads flow. Pretty said how that 20 year old technology at the time was making less HP than stock N/A Honda motors. Pretty sad how it takes 30psi on some setups to crack 450whp lol. There is a company in Europe going for 2000HP on a 4G motor with parts made from titanium. Again NOTHING that is 20 year old technology lol.

  • @LUDE4LIFE1 show me a dyno of any 4cyl breaking 2000 hp, titanium has nothing to do with it

  • @sciullo779 Of course it doesn't make any sense to you! If you read my comment thoroughly you would have taken note of where I said "GOING FOR", as in they have not achieved those numbers yet. They have already reached around 1,500whp on a completely different setup! Look up Extreme Tuners which is in Athens Greece.

  • your friends a tool if he blew up 4 engines and kept it on with the same build?

  • My friend also has over 250 passes at the track.

  • art's do not last longer than a cobalt... they have tranny issues.. they'll be lucky to see 70,000 out of a dodge tranny.... my neighbor has a stock neon with 50,000 miles and the tranny wont go out of 2ng gear.. (automatic)

  • an automatic neon transmission cant be compaired to the srt transmission, the srt tranny's dont have any issues and i know 3 people with srt's with over 100k on them with no tranny issues, mine being one of them. in 2005 dodge went back to using brass parts in there transmissions and the 2005 had some issues because of it (shift forks, and syncro issues) WOAH your NEIGHBOR, let me guess its an 50 year old woman, that could be any car if an idiot that never, and what year is this "neighbors" car

  • next door neighbor to be exact its a 2003... 4 cylinder stock model... piece of shit...

  • true supercobalt06 but, with our lil m62's we can usually get high 200's or just above 300's, unless you swap out for the tvs. ppl should be want more the 350 on fwd cars anyways,

  • I dont belive in twin charging. If you cant get enough outa one turbo or supercharger then u need a bigger charger. Goin twin is a waste of time and money.

  • Then you don't understand twincharging.

  • Win.

  • lol!

  • Yes!! You don't understand twincharging.

  • With twin-charging you get zero-lag response from the supercharger at low revs and non-parasitic high eficiency from the turbo at high revs, and if you want a huge turbo for the high end it's even better since the supercharger primes the big turbo to help spool-up, since they're usually installed in series.

  • The supercharger comes stock with the car, there is no additional cost. Just less turbo lag :P

  • power doesn't mean shit if u can't get it to the pavement. hope that kit comes with a differential and some 235 rubber. ridiculously fast spool though

  • haha im going to say no there is no traction in second gear unless maybe, there are drag radials. I have a srt4 with stg2, some ported stuff and i dont have traction in second gear. Im around 300whp id guess and this kit is way above me id guess

  • yeah i raced a stage 3 srt4 in my friends 90 supra that runs a 12.7 and i roasted it.

  • do you get any traction in second gear?

  • hardly any in 3rd

  • do you get any traction in second gear?

  • uhhh.... (drool) i want

  • Good gosh that sounds amazing.

  • awesome :D!!!!
