  • You have an amazing tone. I was working on this piece a while ago but sadly didn't get it together. You play it wonderfully! Also I'm reading the comments and holy crap... a mark vi :O

  • 3 people have no heart and appreciation for phil's beautiful tone and playing!

  • This is my jury piece for this semester

  • Amazing tone :D I can only dream of being this awesome! I recorded most of this piece for my allstate tryout last year.. (just curious) I saw from a previous post that you have a winslow as a part of your set up, when did you acquire it? are they even being made now lol

  • Thank you so much. Yes, I have an alto Winslow and a tenor Winslow and got mine within three weeks of ordering. These great ligratures are made right in my state by hand in a small shop by the Winslow brothers. You call the phone number which you can easily find on the web by googling and you'll speak directly with them (they will answer the phone themselves). They were only about $70 a piece and I was stunned at the difference it made compared to my rovner. It's worth the phone call.

  • @saxophoney Hey thanks for the information! :D I ordered from them after seeing oyur comment, and the ligature came today! I tried it and it was great! But one slight change was their price, they are now selling them for $98 well, thanks again :)

  • Ouch. That is a bit of price inflation. They are great, though. When you look at it, you can see that it's quite the perfect design and the difference in performance in quite noticable. Good luck!

  • Holy dear jesus!!! Can anybody tell me the rig that he's using? I'll never achieve that sound, but it'd be a good start...

  • @asedftghujk Thank you for the nice comment. I play a selmer mark vi; selmer s90 mouthpiece and vandoren blue 3.5 reeds. I also use a Winslow ligrature, which really made a difference.

  • @saxophoney OMG, A MARK VI? AND A WINSLOW??, thats insane lol

  • @271310104054 It is a pretty sweet setup.

  • Oh goodness, this is my solo and ensemble piece, it's in two months, haven't practiced at all and I'll never play with such beautiful tone!

  • @architect921 - No. Just alto.

  • Beautiful.

  • @ikurasake - Thank you very much.

  • @ikurasake reggie this my solo ensemble piece

  • How many altissimo notes were there in the movements? I mean don't count, but just like a lot? Or not too much.. And what was the highest? Thanks!

  • None. Don't recall without looking at the score, but all movements are written in the normal range of the saxophone.

  • Is there a place where I can get this piece for Tenor Sax and Piano? Thanks.

  • I'd have to say that this is only availalbe for Alto saxophone.

  • @saxophoney Thanks
