Have you tried compiling chromeium (Chrome) in linux. I dont to do a major update to GCC from 4.1.* to 4.2.* as it's still marked unstable and is the life of my system; being I run a source based distro.
im using it more and more i might do a second review on it its really great its fast lightweight and an overall great browser and im running it on home premium also
With multi processes with separating tasks, It is not as glorious as you think, shutting down a plugin can will also kill it for all sessions and so on. Measuring total memory usage chrome is too intensive.
chrome is very resource intensive it invokes a process per browser session unlike FF or even IE and even invokes a new process for flash and other programs, with enough sessions and plugins, your processes are littered with chrome.exe
I was not impressed with Chrome. Its not as fast as Firefox, there is no search bar, and it aims itself at web 2.0 apps, but i could see no benefit from using Chrome for web 2.0 apps over IE or ff
