Did you see the nutrition bring to life that old bean, from that garbage peice. 7:23 Just to let you know, "junk food" is only an expression, not to be taken literally. Junk food are a lot of little peices cooked quickly, common with Chinese dishes.
Batter(flour and water), Oil and salt are common junk food ingredients, mixed with fruit peices, potatoe and sea food.
I wouldn't say so. Different appeal for a different audience. Looney Tunes were more of an all-ages fare, whereas South Park and Family Guy are an extension in the direction of explicitly adult-oriented cartoons a la The Simpsons or Beavis & Butthead whose humour is generally less slapstick and more scripted and situational, i.e. less anvils, more curse words and pop-culture references.
@bcakapinky Well factor in I was only about 6 or so when I saw this originally. Plus creepily moving characters. And an ax wielding clone trying to kill Bugs Bunny.
BTW; Thank you for this. Haven't had a chance to see the unedited version of this in a long time, and I didn't want to buy that DVD just for this one cartoon.
Why do people say this is creepy? This is very tame compared to other cartoons of the time. The entire Ren and Stimpy series was probably more screwed up than this. Invader Zim probably had more questionable themes.
I watched this short a few minutes ago on CN, and years earlier, and, this moment being my third time watching it, I am STILL kept awake by the ending with porky!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Wow, I just stumbled on this by accident. I'd completely forgotten this one, and it freaked me out when I was a kid. And I'd also forgotten about June Bugs. This whole video brought back some memories.
@sharklord I must disagree. Foghorn Leghorn takes that title. At least Bugs only does what he does because someone else is after him and has already started something with the intent to kill him, just as this cartoon says.
This cartoon was actually a satirical response to what was going on in the world of Cartoons. The Pseudo-Elmer Fudd showed that Cartoons were coming repetitive and annoying. Pseudo-Sam expressed how Cartoons were becoming "child friendlier" with kind speaking and less "real" danger. As for Pseudo-Daffy, he represented Animation; the "errors" with his body animation expressed the oversights of many animators with their nontraditional methods and his mouth at 6:45 exampled inconsistent styles.
@NannersBobo Everyone listen to this guy, he's completely right. Other things of note: 9:02 - Miscolored pupils, obviously intentional AND after the black hole the intentionally reused/mistimed animation. There's a lot of other stuff in here if you're attentive but I can't write it all down!
@NannersBobo I agree. I find it interesting that the more 'Family Friendly (puke!) and 'Child Friendly' (Barffff!) they get, the more unsettling they are. the old violent ones are less creepy. The sacharrine of modern kids entertainment is perhaps one of the reasons why we live in an age of school shootings etc when, ironically kids that watched mid-20th ct cartoons and grew up in that time never heard of such things despite all the violence in comics and cartoons.
F**king hell. I can't watch this cartoon. I just dropped by to say that I only saw it once as a child and was convinced it was some sort of hideous nightmare I had. It scared me far beyond any reasonable level, ESPECIALLY the ending with Porky. I can't have been the only one who felt this way.
I can honestly say that I did not get freaked out by the pale stereo types. However, one thing that did freak me out as a kid is when Bug's clone tries to kill him with the ax.
It was like
Real Bugs: Yes
Fake Bugs: What's up Doc? (slices the ax)
Me: JESUS!
Real bugs: (runs and screams)..........You know something folks this is the scariest part of the picture.
lol xD when it ended in the middle i was like wtf?! thats it?! and then Bugs Comes out and says: You didnt think i would ended that way? Did Cha? :D oh man I miss Loony Toons :)
I used to watching things like An American Werewolf in London and A Nightmare on Elm Street when I was a kid, and I was fine with those. Yet this cartoon really freaked the hell out of me!
I'm in my twenties now and it *still* unsettles me to watch it!
The part with the creepy Bugs Bunny doll coming out of the carrot has stuck with me ever since I was a kid. Now I'm 22 and I couldn't rest until I found the cartoon with that scene again.
If only the 2011 Looney Tunes Show was JUST LIKE THIS or ALMOST SIMILAR. I swear to God, the 2011 version it so disastrous, I shedded a tear when I saw the premiere!
@Nanabobo It would appear so! Seeing as none of the characters are the same as they were in the original series. Bugs is less of a slapstick, Daffy is more stuck up (i know its a shock) And Yosemite sam is paler than in the original cartoons. Elmer Fudd hasnt even shown up. They got rid of him.
