  • Sooooreallll

  • WWWWWWWWHHHoooaa my god. 1:17 I bet scared the living fuck out of anybody tripping acid in that crowd. They probably were grooving along and heard that come from left field and made a face like this: O.O! And then had a evil trip for the next few hours.

  • as a person whos been knee deep in zeppelin since the early 80,s its really wierd to see page playing that guitar??? wierd!!!! and whats up with the baby demon child voice around 1:20??? WTF was that????

  • @keverman804

That must be the satan from Stairway

  • Way too fast!!!!

  • 1:17 aliens backing vocals

  • I was there too and the sound was pretty bad...the New Barbarians blew em off the stage any way...that was a band Keef Richards got together with Ron Wood when the Stones has split up (again). They were brilliant...

  • Hey I was there and dont remember the sound being as flat as this

  • They really fell apart as a band by this point. Drugs drugs drugs drugs. The only result could only be self destruction.

  • 666 comments O_O

  • Anyone know what jimmy's guitar is?

  • @meshuggahismylife The guitar is a Gibson RD Artist...very groovy guitar, it had Moog electrics...

  • @Merstheman I have the first year a 1977 RD Custom Gibson it is a sweet guitar

  • @Merstheman Paige could make a Wal Mart guitar sing-he'd find something special to do with it.

  • @meshuggahismylife A 1977 Gibson RD Artist. One of my personal favorites as well. I love the thing to death.

  • @meshuggahismylife Jimmy's playing a 1977 Gibson RD Artist. I got that guitar too, it's sooo awesome.

  • @MichaelD8393 it looks like its quite heavy whats it like

  • @fuzzmeister13 actually it's around 7 pounds which is lighter than a Les Paul.

  • It has wieght to it for sure, heavier then my Les Paul but that is weight releved, The RD is a solid chunk of maple

  • @MichaelD8393 I have a Gibson RD Custom 1977 it has Maple body and neck with the active switching I think it is awsome.

  • @MrWadestar oh lucky you. i wish i could get my hands on one of them. i still prefer the artist though cuz of the 25.5 inch scale. just sounds fatter, especially with the bass boost function.

  • omg i have never seen Jimmy with that guitar before...

  • @JustSomeGuyOk same

  • i want jimmy's guitar.

  • it's a great song of the best group ever

  • Hey where the fuck does the pressure lie?

  • Page is like a twig in this footage - I really dont like watching any of this gig - and Plant is clearly on coke - otherwise that pouting is very embarrassing - but still great, cant help but love them

  • @RossVoce well page does use some types of guitars that he's never used before

  • ive never seen page use that guitar. what is it?

  • Sounds to me like a bunch of haters who wish there was a band half as good as Zeppilin today!!!

  • A COUPLE of reasons why this doesnt sound so hot, 1-the audio is really bad and this wasnt mixed right, 2-plant blew out his voice a few years earlier and couldnt hit the high notes anymore, 3-PAGE is totally smacked out and his playing is sloppy as hell !!! but its still great cause its zeppelin!!!!!!! CHEERS!!!

  • @ozzyhead73 finally a man who appreciates zeppelin like i do!

  • Love his hair it looks just like mine!

  • Keith Moon said when Led Zeppelin first formed, "this band is going to go down like a lead zeppelin" So Jimmy changed it from the New Yardbirds, to LED ZEPPELIN. Keith didn't know what the hell he was talking about.

  • @fatstrat6969 no wrong actuualy. jimmy wanted to form a group with keith and john entwistle (bassist for the who) then keith said it would "go down like a lead balloon" jimmy later substituted balloon for zeppelin and so became their name.

  • led zeppelin suck and are like the worst band ever......oh and btw happy opposite day

  • Anyone knows what model does Jimmy use in this song?

  • 1:17 - 1:22 WTF?

  • @keverman804 That's what drugs do kids. lol

  • @keverman804 female backing singers.

  • @MichaelD8393 no they didnt use backing singers

  • @TheArts8 oh so it must be a doubling effect on Robert's voice.

  • @keverman804 lol helium?? or were those backup black ladies singers? lol

  • @keverman804

he is out of his mind..

just hear to the lyrics xD

  • what is plant on my budd said its acid

  • I was there ! thanks for putting this track on

  • Chirst, I haven't seen an RD Artist in years, almost forgot they existed. One of Gibson's biggest mistakes. Just glue a neck on a slab of maple and you're good to go. The active electronics did nothing for the beast, still sounds dead as a brick.

  • @rbilleaud Jimmy Page made it sound alive though.

  • @rbilleaud Jimmy, Krist Novoselic, Dave Grohl. If Zeppelin and Nirvana both like them...then i do.

  • @PBANDSNOW To each his own, I guess. I've seen some RD Artists in pawn shops and stuff and they are asking outrageous prices. These pawn shop owners have no idea what something's worth. They see the Gibson nameplate and instantly think they've got a real gem, especially considerng they are no longer in production. I've seen Artists priced at $400 and Sonex's going for $350. I would be hesitant about dropping a C-note on either one of them.

  • Like the way he emphasises the word "grass"

  • i love zepplin think they took too many drugs this gig sounds shit

  • Hmmm i think the lifestyle was catching up with the boys here...Nick Kents "Apathy for the Devil" is a fucking awesome book and he gives you an insight into the demise of Zeppelin...all good things etc

  • Nice Satanic girllie overdub 1:17 onward......

  • that was a strange harmony thing! 1:17

  • Led Zeppelin RULES!!!☺☺☺☺☺

  • I love Jimmy, but have another jolt of Horse, Jimmy

  • Luvin' that RD Artist......always wanted one to go with my Firebird...

  • baffled by the guitar - Gibson Explorer TV? WTF? anyone?

  • @SmileyGarrish Gibson RD Artist made in the late 70s with Moog Electronics.....

  • @SmileyGarrish Gibson RD Artist.

  • @SmileyGarrish gibson rd artist

  • They looked, and sounded like a average "Bar-Band) on a bad night

  • You could tell the change in Robert Plant's voice. The high notes were becoming increasingly difficult to reach.

  • guitar of my dreams thumbs up if you searched gibson rd artsist

  • i love you

  • id have asked for my money back....Shame!...At there best,no-one could touch them

  • zeppelin looked like the aged so many years quickly in 75 they looked in there 20's then in 79 they look 35

  • @furie1 if you experienced what they did (whether by their own fault or by horrid luck) than you would age 10 years as well

  • I'm a major Zep fan, but this preformance is just awful, I don't know whats worse Plant's vocals or drugged up Page's playing, oddly Bonham's playing despite his drinking and drug problems never suffered right to the end

  • @johpor59 your no major zep fan if u think there awful dude and i personally actually like this performance more than the original recording

  • its kinda a very funky verson :) but tis cool

  • My biggest life regret is that I never got to see Led Zep live. The Madison Square Garden show in 1978 must have been fucking amazing ... the videos sure are !! I was only 13 ...but I was going to see them at MSG in 1980, but then the most devastating thing happened. John Bonham died. What a tragic loss to the rock-n-roll world. Rest in Peace JOhn and all the others we lost too soon.

  • 0:38 HOLY SHIT ITS A GIANT JIMMY PAGE BEHIND JIMMY PAGE

  • GRASS!!!

  • @LedWolf7 lol i was thinking the same thing when i heard that, kinda random blurt

  • @TheAlexw87 Hell, Everyone needs.....GRASS!

  • what guitar is that? I see it's a Gibson and kinda looks like a firebird but?

  • @collspec2 it's a Gibson RD artist very nice guitar. well i know cuz i own one as well.

  • Bro, the highest rated comments are about my post and its not even up there anymore... that's bogus

  • RD artist all the way

  • @PBANDSNOW Hell yeah, got me a 77 custom Mahogany

  • @PBANDSNOW all the way across the sky of Knebworth.

  • its not a creepy girl its like little possesed demon girl o.O

    btw Zeppelins are gods

  • @jamazi4 I´m agree

    about the possession too.

  • @valkour22 suck a dick, Zeppelin is the greatest band of all time no matter what anyone says, so they took some stuff that was a bit like other bands stuff, that's music. They were inspired!!!

  • So many mistakes. But they make them sound good. and look good doing it too

  • Absolutely terrific. This concert is quite a bit tighter than the "Song Remains the Same" NYC Madison Square Garden show, though each has its merits. Yeah there is a very early model vocaltracker/harmonizer unit on Robert's vocal microphone; the song from this concert that really amazes me is 'in the evening' which they play quite nicely live. Another amazing thing about them is how they boogie; ...such a much higher standard than today for the writing, in general. Love "In Through".. stuff too

    THANK YOU :)

  • whatever man lolol. they are no better than milli vanilli in my book just a band that stole music without crediting the true owners of the songs and licks they stole. they are nothing more than a cover band cause thats all they did then they claim those songs as their own and got rich. They should be kicked outta the hall of fame because thats an honor for true musicians and not cover artist

  • @valkour22 your a fucking prize cunt

  • @TheZoSo1234

He just broke a string on his Les Paul during Over the Hills and Far Away and he ripped it out of the peg.

  • @TheZoSo1234 dont matter what they play cause they stole it anyways!

  • @TheZoSo1234 i think they played achilles last stand right before this song and during the song he broke one of the strings on his les paul, there's a video of it on here somewhere

  • drnapls2 SUCKS!!!!!

  • @NavarroAnthology AGREED

  • @drnapls2 So does your mother, I found out last night.

  • @TheDoomPig And your mother like to take it in the ass by a big black dude.

  • @drnapls2 Now, now...just because we don't let unenlightened cretins into the mystical inner circle is no reason to cop an atitude. Run along junior and go do your homework

  • @drnapls2

so 90% of all rock band in all world sucks also, because they all want to be like led zepelin

    now stop saying bullshit ¬¬

  • @saraivao612 And Led Zeppelin suxx cause about every freaking song they did they stole from other artist, mainly the early blues and people Jimmy seen as a session man early in his career. I use to like this band then researched them and was like omg they ripped off everyone.Biggest ripoff act of all time

  • @valkour22 Most bands rip off other bands, mainly because they're influenced by them. Look up any band, and I'm sure they do a cover of, or "rip off" their influences in some way, shape, or form. What Zeppelin was trying to do was bring the traditional blues style from the depths of the forgotten category, and out into the world in their own style. I mean... can you do any better? If so, I'd like to see it.

  • @saraivao612 just type in Led Zeppelin plagiarism and you will see just a bit of how these thieves stole other real musicians songs and claimed they were theirs. Sorriest excuse ever for a band THEY TOTALLY SUXXED

  • @valkour22 get a life troll, just cause you think one thing, doesn't your going to make the whole world not appreciate Led Zep, so f**k off

  • @FcBarcaman1193 hey dumbass type led zeppelin plagiarism and see what they copied! ur such a fanboy u can see these guys are totally rip off artist and u still defend them? That just shows me how fing stupid u are and how u dont understand a thing. if u think led zeppelin is anymore than a cover band than u sir are as dumb as DOG SHIT

  • @valkour22 see look here big boi, the most they got from other artists was lyrics, for example whole lotta love, nobodies fault but mine, bring it on home ? THEY WERE ALL REWORKED. every song they "stole" has either been given credit to their original writers and have been re-written instrumentally , stfu troll :p

  • @FcBarcaman1193 your stupid ,they stole the guitar patterns. Type led zeppelin plagiarism if u dont believe it. they have been sued more than any other band in history for stealing material and they end up paying the original artist off. And Jimmy Page is one of the sloppiest guitarist ever, cant help ur a zep fanboy but they suxx dude and stole just about every piece of material they ever played.

  • @valkour22 AND c'mon man.. you can't deny that they were always a super tight band and had incredibly talented musicians in the band. i think you're hating too extremely. even bands I don't like, I at least try to find something good in what their doing, and see why so many other ppl like them. if zeppelin is one of the most popular band and deff. one of the best, you gotta step bak for a sec and say alright, i respect what you've accomplished even tho im no tinto ur music. other bands copied to

  • @valkour22 So get a life , and stop criticizing a the best damn band , besides what kind of crap do you listen to TROLL ?

  • @FcBarcaman1193 Their biggest song is stairway to heaven and everyone knows they stole that from SPIRIT'S song TAURUS WHICH WAS RECORDED IN 68!!! If u cant tell that from the recordings then u dont know a guitar from a drum!!!! Ignorant people should be quite!!!

  • @valkour22 That's not the best Zeppelin song, and that being ignorant if you think that's THE BEST Zeppelin song, and they didn't steal it, the only smilarity between Taurus and Stairway is LITERALLY the beginning, really and Zeplein have been sued ? it's the other way around, Zeppelin don't only have Stairway i can name SOOO MANNY song that are awesome and are in the same level are stairway, and again if you think they suck, then WHY THE HELL ARE YOU WATCHING THIS troll ?

  • @valkour22 and how do I know your a troll ? Cause if you hate Zeppelin so much , they why the FUCK are you watching a Zep video, We can all obviously tell you don't get out much

  • @valkour22 dude.. listen man. It doesn't matter what they took from other bands. They were really inspired by other music and took those riffs or songs and amped them up, and made them into something that was unheard of at that time. Their songs are amazing and you can still call Zeppelin songs "Zeppelin songs" b/c they made everything their own. just the way Page played and his feeling and knowledge was an amazing feet ofr his time. Zeppelin DID come up with a lot of their own stuff.

  • I have the same exact model (RD Artist natural color)

  • plant had to be pumped full of drugs well ahead of time, sheesh

  • What Gibson Is That?

  • @bry3051 Gibson RD Artist

  • @bry3051 I have the exact same model RD Artist natural finish. It has a 23 frets scale (instead of a standard 20, more similar to a Fender), the fingerboard is in ebony, fast and precise, the body is well balanced but heavy and the sound is a killer one (on top of the 2 humb, you have an active circuit and a compressor all incorporated). The model was not a commercial success and was discountinued in 1980 after little over 2 years of production

  • @pierofocaccia AWW I Want one badly. Do you know where they still sell`em?

  • @MrJakelucky94

why bring him up? this is zeppelin. so stop talking about him your just as bad as his fans.

  • thats a sick ass guitar!

  • if you look at the set list of when they played at knebworth, you think "holy shit!!!! what an amazing concert!! if only i was there."

  • Wow Jimmy page playing a Gibson RD Artist, cool guitar. I love the necks on those guitars.

  • why does he need more than one guitar (I mean for songs like Hot Dog and Misty Mountain Hop)

  • Thanks for posting it...good memories there and rare footage you won't find on dvd....the sad part of this events is that they played two concerts in Knebworth in 1979...celebrating 11 years of work as a band...they do rehearsals and there where soundcheck the first night...and then when they show up and start playing, the monitors and pa system for John Paul Jones just fail during the first two songs...what a shame...you can noticed during the song...sometimes you hear the piano sometimes not.

  • lovvvvvvvvvvvvvveeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee iiiiiiiiiiiiiiittttttttttttttttttttttttttt

  • does anybody know what kind of guitar Jimmy is playing? is it just a gibson firebird with a custom headstock?

  • @Bryksawguitar @Bryksawguitar

It is a Gibson RD Artist guitar from 70ies

  • @ezerlab

    thank you

  • best version of this song

  • gem rocks

  • But I like the creepy little girls voice at 1:17

  • @Verenlestrange so do i

  • @Verenlestrange i'd say the creepy girls voice is some vocoder-autotune post-production attempt to correct an appallingly bad rendition of the line, musta been pretty bad as other imperfect but heartfelt lines are left in.

but i'd like to think it just 'appeared' on the audio track.... anyone there to corroborate?

  • @Verenlestrange That girl from The Ring!!!!

  • Exorcist girl?

    xDD

  • @Verenlestrange Its just an octave effect on his voice

  • @Verenlestrange

it sounds like micky mouse lolz !

  • Poor John Paul Jones had to keep turning up his monitor when Page came in. LOL JPJ always got shat on....

  • i love it all, voice and all, fucking rock baby

  • what the 1:17

  • that sounds like a demon lol

  • Listen to 00:40 and 01:21 of Ten Years After - Baby Won't You Let Me Rock N' Roll You on Youtube.... similar riff.

  • check out the smile in his eye at 4:28, i believe that's the litmus for a good show.

  • Comment removed

  • What guitar is it?

  • @mhudzik Gibson RD

  • LOL wtf is with that creepy little girls voice at 1:17?

  • @bacala777 It is a octaver effect..make you voice sound a octave high an a octave low note at the same time with your "real" voice

  • @bacala777 it's the harmonizer.

  • @bacala777 That's the crappy special effect they used in the 1979-1980 tours.

  • @bacala777 Yeah Robert had some kind of vocal effects pedal, if you can find the version of "Hot Dog" from Knebworth it is really overdone on that. The band sounds good on the song but the vocal effects sink it.

  • @DasGoldenBoy - Hot Dog wasn't completely terrible, but in spots that vocal effect really did have a negative effect, I admit - like the first chorus. I think they were trying to achieve the vocal sound on the studio version, with Robert's high track added in to complement the normal track. Needless to say they failed. Lol

  • @bacala777 that was my mom

  • @bacala777 thats called an Eventide Harmonizer.. used WRONG!!!!!!! aweful... if you wanna hear it used right .. try Todd Rundgren.. a real artist..

  • @fperdomo Robert Plant's not a real artist?

  • @bacala777 its a pitch shifter or a octiver

  • @holyass242 ... it's an Eventide Harmonizer.

  • @bacala777 Didn't you know - that's the voices of the 13 fucking FAGGOTS who disliked this song.

  • @beautifulsarah100 Do you smoke crack?

  • guitar sounds really nice, wonder why gibson discontinued it.
