The reason no-one is calling for an end to this parade is that this isn't a parade. It is not an organised event. It does not occur in an area where a large number of residents don't want it. It has little political significance. This disorder erupted due the large number of drinking students in one area. Very few students look upon St Patrick's day as anything other than an excuse to drink a lot of alcohol.

I think the video says more about the dangers of drunkeness and the belief that you should be able to do as you please without restraint, if these young people are our future I could well despair, but there again you learn by your mistakes and being young is the best time to make them while there is still time to learn. Perhaps if they have any decency in them, when they earn their degree and are in gainful employment they will look back on the incident and blush, I know Saint Patrick would.
