If you notice, as good as all the other soloists are, they all tend to OVERplay and completely lose the groove, Carlos included. The only one who works the living shit out of that groove in his solo is Gatemouth! SMDH!

@Gatesgirl79: I'm not sure why I crack you up but, happy to be of service. I wish that some of the younger kids who respond to the music of their time could give Gatemouth a listen. Unfortunately there is little corporate profit in marketing him. Those of us who have been lucky enough to have been enriched by his music however...wow! He's a bit like T-Bone Walker but (I think) a lot more fun. Kinda like what music is all about.

Gatemouth is a wonder. He makes the other guitar player sound depressingly like a pathetic wannabe. Real groove and great time, intelligent economy of phrasing and a total mastery of the medium vs dumb technique and really lousy time. I presume the other guy is good at some other music than blues cause this is not cool.

Funny, the highest ratest comment has nothing to do with music. The guy is playing the shit out of his instrument. Anyone who saw Gate live knows that his band was a musician's playground. Buddy tries to hide under his hat and Carlos tries to hide behind his chewing gum but they just can't manage to pull it off. When a man as good as Mr Brown is at the top of his game he must have been hard to live with on stage :-)
