China: Unusual & Interesting Food

Every culture has its own unique points. We find eating dogs and cats unacceptable ( as dogs and cats are carnivores ) but many may find eating chicken not so pleasant. For chicken eat anything that crawls , as they are non-vegetarians. As to dogs and cats being grown as pets , you can also make chickens, cows,cocks and hens pets . - indeed they are grown as part of households in many homes both in the east and the west till the moment the are butchered.

As a Chinese person, I find Chinese food appealing and appetizing.

These "Strange" foods you see aren't part of our diet. We find it weird too just not as weird as foreigners.

People all over the world eat strange obscure things.

Don't hate on culture.

@DaAsianPowah Please don't misunderstand me. I love Chinese food. Whether or not I choose to eat some of it is an entirely different subject. There are many foods in America that I feel the same way about. I'm just trying to show people who don't travel and share these experiences what is out there. @travelswithsheila Thank You. Finally someone who understands. I mean, Eaten dogs are raised like Chickens and Cows. Look at the slaughter rate in America without mentioning all the abuse they receive. if you would argue that a dog is man's best friend, why can't it be a cow or a chicken?

Wow! Everything is 'delicious' for u, I would be very carefull about that statement as Chinese is know to eat anything, u probably eat some body waste as the places look pretty dirty. Lol! Their food is disgusting, and they torture not only animals but their own people, can u say 'human and animal rights violations'.They are scum, but who cares right? As long u stuff ur face...

@changrider Let's just talk food here. Our local guides were scrupulous about checking the cleanliness, sanitation, etc. of whatever restaurants aka little and big holes in the wall we ate in. They also know that we don't eat rats, dogs, cats and many other beasties. This video shows some of the more unusual (to us foods). Almost everything we ate was delicious. Very true. We usually have a guide and give instructions - no snake, dog or cat - but have met many individual travelers who do have menu characters with. Great suggestion.

That is vile too with no health and safety regulations either, no recycling going on, check their dumpsters while they claim to use recycled material they don't actually recycled themselves and of course, gawd knows what nasty crunchy cockroaches/ants/mice you might find in one of their hamburgers so NO THANKS to that either, don't prejudge me.... I dont eat crap food,homecooking, be your own health and safety regulator!!!!! Get a life
