Didn't the regular cable, back in the day, carry both video and audio too? What's the damn difference? Sometimes I think this is all just another scam fooling us all. Just cause 'scientists' say "now this cable can transfer more data" or whatever. Now get it and pay the new bill.
Hmm so I'll connect my Xbox 360 via the hdmi port, then my dvd player via component video, and finally my PS2 via the composite AV cable. Cool it helps a lot.
Yes, VGA is analogue as it was designed for CRT monitors. That's why LCD often have DVI instead or as well. With VGA the signal has to be converted into analogue by the graphics card then back to digital in the monitor. DVI doesn't need conversion so will give a better quality picture. Unfortunately, very few HDTVs have DVI which is probably why he left it out. Also, since computers are starting to get HDMI outputs it doesn't make sense for them to start adding DVI as it is video only.
Hey Brad, thx for doing this awesome instruction video. Got a few questions I would like to pose to you. First, you said one can connect the HDMI cable from a HD receiver to a HDTV. What is a HD receiver?
