  • Thats what "game over" sounds like

  • same thing happend to me shatterd piston skirt exaust side

  • awesome video.

  • if he fowled a spark plug the engine would still run on one cylinder. and a sparkplug will not roul from idling to long

  • all the older polaris sleds (97-04) excluding the 800's were awesome. i know a guy that bought a pro rmk and busted a fuckin crank after 10 miles of ridin... HMMM now I know soemone that bought a 2011 M8 Sno pro and has not had to replace on thing on it..and theres about 1200 miles on it...... Not saying polaris is a shitty sled just saying not as good as a cat, u cant beat cat.

  • shitty polaris hahahahah i love that saying go arctic cat

  • polaris is power.

  • sounds to me like a fouled plug...cause you let it idle too long before you took off

  • @reed1014 The video is called Blown Engine because I blew up the engine. As you can see from my other videos I'm on a different sled now.

  • @reed1014

obiviously it was running great right before liek always abviously it was not a fouled plug. and like they always say they run the best right before they burn down.

  • yepp my 98 rmk did the same to day ! second time in 40 miles !

  • did all you people also know that your not suppose to let a sled sit and idel for more then 3 min even if it is 30 below.

  • It was warmed up, it always was warmed up. It was running lean because of a fuck up with the Vari-flow we had recently put on. It had nothing to do with me not warming it up this ride, or any ride before.

  • @Rucky150 sad thing about the engine. are u going to repair it or just buy a new one.

im thinkin about buying a 700 rmk 2005.

  • did you let it warm up when you took off?

i know that didn't have anything to do with the motor going.

    i suspect a clogged carb

  • @YouraN1993R you dont need to let it warm up when its already warmed up....

  • @crazybmxer876

No shit, hence my statement of saying "i know that didn't have anything to do with the motor going"

But I asked because if he started his ride like that everytime with no warmup time, that is going to cause premature wear on the motor.

  • to snowcross231

ahh you jump it, thats why you are not abusing it, thats the shit, jump it!! then its not abusing....

  • Weld a Piston?

  • Well it looks like you were abusing it more than having fun with it. Not an insult, more of a statement, I play with my 07 Phazer the same but I jump it. It looked like you just started it and started giving her, and you killed the engine before it was even lower than I would say 4000RPM. ......

  • @snowcross231 This is not abusing a sled... It had been running for a long period of time. This comment proves to me your knowledge of sleds is lacking quite a bit.

  • @Rucky150 Not really, Not to be cocky. I don't know you, but what I do know that I am quite more experienced with snowmobiles and motorized vehicles than the average guy, I am just stating what I thought from what I saw in the video. It did not show that it had bin running prior to the ride, and how much knowledge you have with sleds. I can only speak for myself but, I am very experienced.

  • @Rucky150 PS; It is a smart thing to do, to wait until the sled is at idle before you shut it off. If that's what you thought proved I didn't know very much.

  • @snowcross231 I don't see where I shut it off at all in the video there chief.

  • @Rucky150 lol

  • @snowcross23 know your facts before you pipe up, it doesnt harm your motor to shut it off at middle rpm, plus the last thing on your mind would be how you just shut of your cat after it blew up

  • @snowcross231

if a snowmobile is not being abused as we call fun then whats the point of sledding?

  • @snowcross231 the thing is... with the newer sleds unless your doing a 120 its going to over heat and blow up anyways... thats why i like the old sleds.. (pre 1970) granted you aint making no land speed records at top speeds of under 40 mph... but it will last longer be a better ride.. where as doing warp factor 9 all you see is a big blur.... i have a 61 skidoo...... i see no point in going 100 on it... i just sit back and enjoy the scenery.. my point is... slow down and enjoy the ride...

  • thats a polaris for ya..my xcr 440 left me stranded in a bad storm with no tow..took me 2 hours to walk home

  • what a nice friend to tow you back.. mine would have said "fuck you, have fun pushing!" haha

  • Wrong mix?

  • man that sucks thats mint tho got a indy 500 with over 7000 miles stil lrips hard

  • @polariskid13 Yea i have a 1993 polaris xlt with 8000 miles on it, and still goes strong too. Polaris Rules!

  • @454apache cant beat some of em

  • what happened to it? did it just burn down a cylinder from running lean on a really cold day?

  • i blew my 98 xcr 440 up in december, sucks cuz it was a fun as hell sled

  • What size of risers are on it?

  • wow does it really fucking matter wat kind of sled you drive!!!!! i mean really if it fucking runs then you should be ok but i have a 1983 yammaha and if you watch my vid of me driving it youll see it looks like crap but who gives a shit and i have a polaris 1999 600 ok as you can see i dont really give a shit of wat i drive! NEITHER SHOULD YOU!!!!!!!

  • looks like it HAD no trouble liftin the skis haha does anyone know how much hp these put out stock ?

  • their is a true shity polaris

  • Sounds like it could of been a crank seal causing it to run lean and melt down a piston. Same thing happened to my 07 Dragon. Not fun thats forsure.

  • nonono you should of stoped right when u started to bog

  • oooh that sucks that sled was beast!

  • I'm not sure where you're drawing this conclusion. The old sleds like this one were damn near bullet proof. It was user error that caused the engine to go. This sled had almost 6000 hard MILES on it before and would have kept going. Most engines since '04 have been poor. 800 VES had crank issues, the 900 and 700 of '05 and '06 were disasters, and we all know about the 800 disaster of past few years which still isn't fixed from what I hear. That's my 2 cents and I'm a Polaris guy forced to Cat.

  • @Rucky150 my 1999 yamaha phazer has 13000 kms on it and nothing has broke on it

  • @Rucky150 You gotta stay on top of stuff like that man. But yes, cat is making good shit. So is polaris, those are like the 2 BEST brands there is. but if you want reliable. buy neither of those and get a yamaha..

  • @Rucky150 cause cats the fucking shit, i love mine, this devinpoooopzz guy doesnt know shit! and yeah, from what you hear is right, they still havent fixed it, they got recalled again. one of my buddies just got one and had to bring it back

  • @devinpooopzz me personally since ownin a 97 polaris with 7300 miles and cant notice a tiny bit drop in performance(no joke) and hear alot fo probs with new 600s thats why im leary of buyin anew shift rly need one tho the 97 was my dads sled i bought one like his but it was a complete POS they guy bullshitted me so bad so it sucked but hopefully get new one

  • might of been the oil pump that went on it, same thing happened to my ski doo 800 summit X, and i had to get towed by a polaris. lol

  • Everybody shit talks each sled, fuck off each has the pros and cons! not best!

i thought i did the same think last night, but it turned out to be just a huge branck smashed through my belly pan, streight into my primary clutch, between block, and clutch, wedged it,so I couldent pull it over, fuck I though that was it, stuck on the river , at night. After a long tow back to the truck, and then shop, we got it out, 2' or mor thick, 2 1/2 long branch. got it out, and fired right up, what a relief!!

  • cracked pistons? or burn a hole through the top?

  • what all did it take out on it and you shouldve atleast stoped when it started to bog out and not push it

  • Needed a new top end. I was hoping I could limp it to a road.

  • @Rucky150 oo well that not much damage

  • @sledinforlife well u have to keep it runnin or else it'll never go again...anyways ur still fucked. ur engine is still blown even if u go fast or slow...first hand experience..

  • What do you think you're talking about calling polaris a piece of shit. They are the best snowmobiles, four wheelers, and UTV's out there!

  • Not the best snowmobiles, ill give them the other shit..best sled by far has to be Arctic cat or ski-doo wayy more reliable...Cat is prooven the most reliable so fuck off polaris is good but not the best

  • " a shitty polaris getting towed by a ski-doo" dam right

  • they are not shitty there just not the best

  • Well, at least it didn't lock up like mine did and throw me over the bars onto the hood at ~90 mph.

  • sounded like it was running on one piston

  • It sounds like a two-stroke, they all sound like that.

  • i mean that it sounded like it was running on one piston, they are sounding wierd when then only run on one piston.

  • You can blow an engine on any sled if you cold start it and run it hard without warming her up.

  • This was not a cold start. The sleds sat in the yard at the beginning for maybe five minutes after being used for over an hour before. It was warm. Just very lean.

  • what did you end up doing with the polaris?

  • I still have it. It's actually for sale right now.

  • That sucks, you melted a hole in the piston on one side. Done that many many times. It gets old real fast

  • Sounds like you lost compression

  • Really?!! Never woulda guessed... lol

  • polaris=gaylaris=gaypower=bad quality:) for sure!.

  • polais fucking rocks you are just jealous because you can't afford one and you can only afford a peice of shit ski-doo or yamaha or arctic cat(SHIT)

  • haha... can`t afford it lol... i got an arctic cat f8 sno pro, wich was expensive.

iv`e had polaris one time.... and never again!

my mate had a o8 assult 800,,, that blew up a week after he got it...

  • hey watup ummm u sure that u blew the engine cuz i have the same sled... i think its a 97 tho and i got stuck and was reving it and that same thing happend with a bog... and it lost its power fast and died. i couldnt get it started.. wat was wrong with mine was that one of the spark plugs fouled and i changed them and im back in the powder. :D try that and if it doesnt work then yes u blew it.

  • I blew it for sure. We had it apart that day. It's back on the snow now though.

  • cool that i got it on tape
