No Zan? THANK YOU, SEGA!!! I hated that stupid robot, I hate SOR3, they turned a beat 'em up game into Terminator, that was ridiculous. Just like Final Fight 4 Streetwise with those monsters... Why don't they just keep the game realistic? SEGA OUGHT TO REBOOT SOR, make it 2.5D like Final Fight 4 was, with more violence, mafia manipulation, corrupted police, forget that Zan ever existed, make Skate a few years older (what kind of cops in real life would let a child fight bandits?), etc.

Sega needs to get back to making these games. They have no idea how many people would buy a new streets of rage with obviously much better graphics more moves, new ideas mixed with the traditional to keep it classic. They could make 3d tag team supers and back to 2d when back to normal.

heh the bouncer and final fight the revenge on ps2 were odd for story and fighting both ended way to quickly it was easier when all you had was text and more arcade like gameplay that you could just pop it in and play one or two players but if sega redid it they might go overboard like you said and probably do cut senes too long like final fantasy games

I agree kids are mostly familiar with combo game's Like the New Tekken and Mortal Kombat 9? I was hooked on games like Final Fight, Streets Of Rage Series, Time Killer, The Original Street Fighter 2, Mortal Kombat 1-2, Killer Instinct! This looks really good, very gritty. I love the backdrop and the nod to Bare Knuckle along with the SOR1 phoneboxes and signs. The lifebars on the apple and poultry were good too and the costume colours. Good job.

well utubessuxyourcock "Beats of Rage" engine is a homebrew engine, meaning it was made by dedicated fans and home coders - and in fact allowed any 2D sprites and backgrounds to be added to the game code. I customed some King of Fighters 97-2000 sprites of King/Kyo/Iori. I saw others versions where Golden Axe characters were running around, as well Xmen/MSH back in the day.

What the hell are you talking about? The graphics are very sharp, on the dreamcast comparing to the original DOS/OpenBOR version, and on a TV in general. This is a homebrew. What did you expect? Someone went through the trouble of porting this?! Why?! It would have been alot less time consuming to just buy the game. If you were going to mess with the SOR3 and even change the name they should have at least altered the enemies or something. The homebrew isn't "based" on the game, it IS the game with a little change to the background here and there.

@X7393 As much as I really want a streets of rage 4, I could really see it getting screwed up very easily by sega adding a whole new set of game mechanics and pretty much changing the game, if they made a new one, I think it should be similar to "The Bouncer" that ps2 put out years ago cause kids today are really missing out on the old school beat em ups that we'd beat in 2-3 hours but were replayed thousands of times afterwards

I'm a huge fan of streets of rage 2 for the genesis and i even bought it on my 360 and have beat it numerous times with my buddy. But this just looks like a rip off of the streets of rage name... i mean this is for Sega dreamcast. The background for the whole level was the same... not even the genesis repeated the background that much never mind the saturn.
