  • One thing that seperates Dimebag from a lot of famous guitar players is that he treats people like they are friends. Not many metal guitarists do videos like this.

  • man, all he wanted to do was play guitar. you can see it in him that was his favorite thing to do!

  • Wow! Man I'd do anything to be able to play that, or a tab... Wish I could Learn it./:

  • @hetfield2x4 Your right, it is the original Whammy. I have a Whammy 2 thats red also, but doesnt have that sticker his has on it. Never seen a black one...

  • @diabolicD1 there weren't red Whammy 2's, only black as far as I know (and they're kind of rare). You may have the Whammy 4, which is the one thats currently available.

  • @ChaosTheoryTHESHRED Washbourn (Dont know of the spellin lol)

  • @ChaosTheoryTHESHRED Man this is The Washburn Stealth, his favourite model in the last years of Pantera and first times of Damageplan before switching to the false crappy Dean$.

  • this is evidence, that he wasn't always a badass mean riff laying demon, he had fucking soul :D can i get an amen?

  • This tone is like syrup, smooth and dense at the same time. i´m gay.

  • we miss you dude!!!!!!!

  • hey, sorry for asking.

    but what means, getcha pull???

    please tell me

  • @xDimebladex

"getcha pull' means to get ur pull of the guitar string and make that trademark dimebag fucking darrell squeal

  • @HellzAngel713 thanks a lot

  • @HellzAngel713 I thought it was referring to the Extra Sustain treble push/pull pot on his original RG100es.

  • @xDimebladex It's also an old gambling term

  • 2 more goddamn days,

thumbs up if you'd take a bullet for him

  • @Synyst3rg4t3 6 years :(

  • My favorite Dime Washburn and then the Dime 3ST

  • yeah he was ALWAYS down to earth. met him twice. Pantera signing in 1996, and at the rainbow room in 2004. rip dimebag.

    pure talent. metal/blues genere.

  • sweet sound, trying to figure out what that pull off maneuver after the bend at 0:49 sounded sweet.

  • @docjor He used the Floyd Rose whammy bar to produce that effect...Just like a vibratto , but instead of using his fingers , he uses the Floyd Rose

  • I love this! what is this called? is it from a song?

  • @163Burkey gary moore- still got the blues ;p

  • Silky fuckin smooth babe. Gritty full moon howl. FUck yea. Getcha fuckin pull...

  • He makes Gary Moore proud !

  • Fuckin A !!! Getcha Pulll!!!!

  • anyone know the name of what he is playing at 0.40 - 0.57?

  • @joellhj123 its in the title its his version of still got the blues.. by gary moore

  • Fucking brilliant.

  • did anyone else hear a hint of The Sleep at the start there?!?!?!?!

  • @sony040 From what I cant hear instead of bending up on the 12th fret on the B and hitting 12 on E, he goes up to fifteen on E while having 12th bent up to the 14th fret on the B. All of this is in assumption that you can play guitar.

  • @sony040

yeea like a tiny bit from the solo

  • 0:12 ...thats what she said. RIP DIME

  • I bet he still got a blues up there.

  • i cant wait to get my zakk overdrive pedal

  • Dude I fucking cried! He can make that motherfucker sing!!! Rock in Paradise!

  • Aguante Dimebag y x supuesto, Pablo mi amor!!!

  • u know What? im getting a zakk overdrive pedal =]

  • DIME RULES!

  • dude he's supportin zakk's shit thats sick

  • Very hard to mention, but Dimebag Darrell sits at top with Gary Moore looking up at him.

  • Dimebag's pedalboard: Distortion pedal, other distortion pedal, another distorion pedal.. lol he is awesome. (Btw he uses a zakk wylde pedal).

Dimebag is such a awesome guitarist, I love him so much.

  • @HolyGK

Do you know what else he used?

  • @Bookstop1337 he doesn't use a distortion pedal, he's always used the distortion and reverb from the Randall/ Krankenstein amp; the ZW overdrive is for sustain and clarity ("dimed" to 12, obviously). Dime also used a Digitech Whammy, a prototype octave whammy from Digitech, wah pedals from both Dunlop and Digitech as well as Dean or Washburn guitars.

  • @SantomPh

That's crazy..I have a marshall and even with the onboard gain cranked it's nowhere near Dime's tone.

  • @Bookstop1337 the Randall or signature Krankenstein amps he used in his career had enough onboard distortion for him to use. The Dime Distortion pedal is an emulator of his sound for those of us who don't have Randall or Krank amps to abuse. Dime also followed Eddie Van Halen's approach to volume (all the way baby) and also used Eddie's MXR Flanger model to beef up his sound. Lower tunings also helped somewhat- Rex Brown in Pantera also made Dime sound harder, backing him up with killer bass.

  • @SantomPh

Have you ever had a chance to use Randall/Krankenstein amps or even Dime's Distortion pedal?

  • @Bookstop1337 Guitar World Magazine had a review of the Krankenstein and the Dime Distortion a while back, I can't recall the issues. A video review is on the CD-ROM accompanying the magazine- or just look for it here on U Toob!

  • @SantomPh

    Thanks dude, much appreciated.

  • @SantomPh Dude he used all the volume up? wow xD why is that man?i mean to get more sustain or something? :)

  • @MetalyourMom well, he drove the amp really hard; his sound engineer makes sure it doesn't overpower the rest of the band. He plays at full volume to make it distort as much as possible; his overdrive is to control just how much. Full volume usually kills sustain, which is why Dime used the MXR pedals and the trademark Krankenstein amps. Not sure if he had a Randall sig though.

  • @Bookstop1337 man... no marshall onboard distortion can match dimebag sound. you SHOULD know that. If you want to play loud and heavy, you need more gain . Marshall does not have enough in any amps!

  • @Bookstop1337 Marshall amps are nowhere near the best amp for gain

  • Dimebag's pedalboard: Distortion pedal, other distortion pedal, another distorion pedal.. lol he is awesome. (Btw he uses a zakk wylde pedal).

Dimebag is such a awesome guitarist, I love him so much.

  • dimebag playing a gary moore song???? crazy

  • does he use jazz 3?

  • I love the sound and tone Dime had with Reverb!

  • Dime .. R.I.P man ..

  • i got the same fuckin wah!

  • zakk, an dime, etc etc, all the greats hand it down to gary moore, cos he is the original 'huge riff' daddy!!!

  • @HookerWithAPenis92 i thougt it was tony iommi

  • @MasterGodfather97 Yeah man my bad- Iommi was the huge riffs thats for sure, but gary moore is one of the earliest rippers out there, and especially so bluesy, just makes him stand right out!

  • RIP DIMEBAG DARREL

  • what a tone!! infuckincredible!

  • I love those shoes...hahaha

  • 0:05 - Thats what she said

  • @spazmicjosh LMFAO

  • 0:11 - That's what she said.

  • Holy shit - I've never heard this thick of a sound from Darrell.

Kinda sounds like Randy Rhoads' Marshall benched 300.

    Unfuckingbelievable.

    And 0:11 - That's what she said.

  • Yea and its coming from solid state randalls haha

  • plus he added a few distorition pedals along with an eq pedal

  • What?

  • @ToneChaser4Life

Excellent spot with the 'That's what she said.''

    Nice work.

  • Comment removed

  • oh shit ,my bad, that pedal on the end that is a blackish grey is not a volume pedal. its a wha wha-octavea pedal its a proto from dunlop. i suppose only a few people have it because I cant find it on the net for sale.

  • Idk I suppose its personal preference too. I have both a crybaby and whammy pedal but I do put the Whammy first in the pedal chain then the crybaby and other pedals. to me it makes less noise it might not be the same for u though, all rigs are diff.

  • on his pedal board he has no compressor but hes using a rack compressor and a rack EQ. are u talking about his volume pedal or his wha being in a weird position? and the whammy is the first thing on the board just because if u put it at the beginning of the chain thats how u can reduce the most noise. even on the little whammy manual it asks u put it first to reduce hum and noise

  • oh thx a lot! i can't understand why the crybaby wah is not first of all..

  • take a look at his pedalboard...there's no compressor and the wah wah pedal is in a unusual position....he put the whammy digitech first of all.....could someone explain me these settings?! :/

  • ke el pendejo ke asesino a Dime se lo kojan los putos demonios en el infiernooooooo!!! Hail Dime

  • what mxr pedal is that? is that just zack wildes mxr distortion or omething else??

  • yes it is.......

  • it's the zakk wylde signiture zw44 mxr overdrive....i want one XD

  • Everybody wAnts Too

  • RIP DIME

  • what song is he playing? it sounds similar to what he played on dime vision

  • Still got the blues by Gary moore, he loved that song

  • cheers man i had no idea

  • its the same song

  • i want 1 of those straps

  • Happy Birthday Dimebag! RIP

  • I've noticed that when he plays on stage or behind the scenes he's flawless every time. That's talent.R.I.P. Brother!

  • ya i thought so

  • i think people miss him cuz such a talent was lost..?

  • @microsoftsucksass ...an understatement of massive proportions.

  • @microsoftsucksass and because he had a heart of gold

  • @microsoftsucksass not only that. i've never met him, but he seemed like a down to earth kinda guy.. he wasnt some stuck up sell out... i would die if it would bring him back so the world could enjoy him again

  • @microsoftsucksass

Also because he was one of the nicest people in rock.

  • i wonder wat kind of pick gauge dime used like medium or heavy R.I.P. Dime Never forgotten Brother

  • im guessing heavy- allthough proberbly used medium every now and again

  • heavy

  • .88 dunlop tortex style, but custom graphics for whatever band he was in

  • wtf he uses zakk overdive:p

  • i knever knew dime used a zakk overdrive

  • Why the hell not its a great overdrive?

  • i didnt mean nothing negative about it, i just didnt know he used one. but for the price its not quite worth it because you can get a Boss SD-1 new for $39.99. i dunno, whatever floats your boat. oh yea, and i did a side by side comparison, the only difference was only noticeable when you play it through the clean channel.

  • There's a difference between overdrive pedals and distortion pedals overdrive is what u want to add a little bite to your amps distortion like a tube screamer .. if try to add a distortion pedal to a amps distortion it just make alot of noise...

  • i know this...

  • he looks a bit lyk vinnie in this vid

  • dude of course man these guys are brothers xDDDD i bet both of them without a beard would even look more like each other^^

  • he was playing floods in the 80's

  • i know its gary moore stil got the blues but next time u listen to floods and i reckon that this is where he got the inspiration

  • i dont think anyone loves dime as much as me. i have covered my room in posters constantly listen to pantera and view these vids like 12 times a day lol i never met him but i miss him and the way he plays this gary moore song is very sad sounding its such ashame he was killed comment me if you love dime to!

  • Perhaps you should get a guitar -.-

  • were like twins the only reson my room isnt covered with dime is cuz i share it i didnot get to meet him either

  • you should probably get his biography, set to come out in 3 days. I've had my copy reserved since November 2007

  • I don't know about biggest, but a really great one for sure. I love Dime, he changed the way I do almost everything. I got his Washburn sig model (Better than any Razorback, it's a real shame they're out of production) and play it all the time. I learn lots of Pantera tunes. My band perform 'Cowboys' and Walk at every show we do. Keep on Rockin everybody.

  • dude i dont know why i miss him so much , like you, i never met him, is that fanatism?

  • What song is 45:00 - 55:00 ? It's not still got the blues.

  • improv?

  • The name kinda says it all m8

  • whats that ?
