Collins is a recluse. He only comes out on very special occasions & only when events are tightly controlled to give him the maximum protection with the least amount of exposure.
If this military veteran of a hero got ambushed it's because he's lousy under fire. All he had to do is tell Sibrel to contact his agent to arrange for an interview. It's not like astronauts never cash in or are prohibited from doing so.
The question is why did he act as badly, if not worse, than Sibrel?

'its funny, all the non-engineering/science types don't believe in the moon landings'
Well the reason for that is very simple: 'enigineering/science types' are being programmed more thoroughly & have a more acute personal investment in believing authority, since otherwise it's bye bye career.
Their 'training' has the effect of largely eradicating all remnants of common sense from their minds and they are particularly exposed to the PRESTIGE of almost infallible authority's,
...whom one just DOES NOT DOUBT. NO CRITICAL ASSESSMENTS ALLOWED. It simply isn't done.
All this is rather funny when the history of science shows and endless stream of corrupt authorities who's work always ended up being debunked anyway. The history of science is the history of lies needing more lies in an endless progression supposedly converging increasingly with truth.
The question is, does one approach truth building on a long sequence of lies?

Anyway: the USSR tracked and confirmed Apollo manned missions to the moon.
Anyway: lunar rock fragments are sometimes fall to Earth, thus we can compare them to Apollo samples; lunar rock is rather different than terrestrial rock owing to different formative processes. Got it?
There's no way to fake a lunar rock--we can't make them here on Earth. And before you say lunar rocks found on Earth could be substituted, that's impossible. A lunar meteorite would show signs of atmospheric heating and terrestrial contamination. Apollo samples were placed in boxes and sealed on the lunar surface to preserve them in a vacuum.
There is not one reputable scientist or engineer who spouts the things you do. Not ONE--why is that? Answer.
...don't doubt the moonlanding. It would be difficult to pay your mortgage otherwise, wouldn't it?
How would you function in an 'engineering/science' type of environment if you KNEW, as countless people with common sense and some processing skills KNOW, that the moonlanding is false?
The only reason you can pull off not looking like a COMPLETELY RIDICULOUS DELUDED ASS is that as many people, you know which side your bread is buttered and that it's safer to stay in line with authority, no matter how ludicrous, insane or toxic the lie.
There is no merit to 'your' position at all but I grant you immediately that the majority is on your side -which is typically considered a strong argument by 'science/engineering' types.
No, truth is independent of "willathepeepul" or, as you put it, "consensus of the majority." Science has shown us time and again that "consensus of the majority" is sometimes wildly inaccurate.
The moon landings are truth and coincidentally "consensus of the majority."
Interestingly, Collins has said that the space program "needs more English majors" because he later felt frustrated that he and other astronauts could not speak eloquently and engagingly to the public about their experiences in orbit and on the moon.
Of course it was fake. Come on people. With 40+ year old technology we should be going in half the time at half the price. Name one piece of technology that, since it's creation, has stopped advancing. TV's? Cell Phones? Automobiles? Computers? No everything gets better and cheaper as time goes on. Except of course the Apollo Missions. Been there done that!
@JGKreations "Name one piece of technology that, since it's creation, has stopped advancing"
Supersonic air travel (which is also 40+ year old technology). Been there done that!
The reason for this SHOULD be obvious. Technology advances because it is developed, invested in. It's invested in because there is MONEY to be made, there's a MARKET that is willing to pay the price that a supplier is willing to sell for. Nobody was going to show a profit going to the moon.
does everybody know the NASA director quite his job 3 days before the moon landing launch? i wonder what military secrets he knew? or was that the reasoning of a small child, you know quite your job, and retirement so all your hard work and credit goes to someone else. i bet jo gogo has the answer.

@datzfast, Asking someone to swear on the Bible is just another way of saying, "I don't believe your personal integrity." The reason most a-nauts didn't fall for Sibrel's command is because they don't respect his lying, bait-and-switch tactic to getting an interview under false pretense. He insulted them!

On your next confrontation, you might want to think about the religious beliefs of these men. Some might think its "Wacky" to swear on something, "The Bible", they don't believe in. I love your approach and your in your face method, but use something different than the bible.
Will are you in contact with Gus Grissoms boy because I think Apollo 1 will were killed in a covert mission 24 hrs before the accident which was a staged event to cover the covert nature of the mission Grissom, Chafee and White were actually sent on.
Will don't you think there's more to this press conference?
Were they told to shut it? I've got on very good authority they were brainwashed on return and Apollo 11 if they actually landed there had been and returned at least a month before the Saturn V was launched.
On good authority? The Easter bunny isn't too reliable and I have no faith in the Tooth Fairy either, so if any of them are your sources, I'd try asking somebody else. Have you considered speaking to your Doctor? Maybe he needs to tweak the dosage of something a little.
