I think all we need to do is too look to the Bible and Jesus and deal with that reality instead of debating everything. This guy wants to sell his truth and is no different than any of the others doing so what ever there truth's may be. There is only one absolute truth scripture, Read and pray people for yourselves.
Thank God for American Vision/Gary DeMar. I knew what I was being taught about Revelation was wrong but I didn't have the answer either. Revelation and Matthew especially read with such clarity now but in America and especially growing up in the Bible Belt, the Jack van Impe stuff is all all you are going to find.
@DeathRattleSnakes I studied under NT scholar G. K. Beale, whose book John's Use of the Old Testament in Revelation and full blown Revelation commentary really helped me jettison Dispensationalism completely. The plagues in Revelation mirror those in Exodus. Buist Fanning of Dallas Seminary is a Progressive Dispensationalist working on a new Revelation commentary for Zondervan. I'm curious to see how he nuances his interpretation and defends it using the original Greek.
The vision in Daniel 8 begins with the description of Alexander the Great defeating Darius III at the river Granicus after Passover of 334BC. Is it a coincidence that there are exactly 2300 Passovers between 334 BC and 1967 when Israel captured Jerusalem? I highly doubt it, and I've been perplexed lately, with my fellow Christians who can't see the connection, especially Adventists who begin the count at 457 BC. What historical event happened in 1844? The false notion of Rev 10 "..time no longer
@scourge39 I too have made this observation and I believe it is a good one! Whenever I study the Bible with people, most don't even know that most things in Revelation come DIRECTLY from the OT! It especially upsets them when I show them the OT reference and it is very clear that it is not literal in the OT, so it can't be in Revelation either!
GOOD GARY, TELL THEM AS IT IS!! GOD BLESS YOU!

The problem seems to be a lack of understanding on the part of Dispensationalists concerning how John uses the Old Testament in Revelation.
