  • Blame was just too good for her. End of story

  • I was there, and if you didn't see it for yourself you would not believe she got beat, because basically she didn't. She was in her true form and I believe Mike held her up too long for the theatrics of the race. She was pulling from the word go and wanted to race her heart out. In my heart she won this and to me she will always remain the greatest horse I have ever seen in person, ever. She has the heart and soul of a true champion, and so will her baby, God bless her,and her staff, Michele.

  • @8mmoore1 Her 2010 BCC was the proof of greatness any person should need to qualify her as the great that she is, was and ever will be. She proved it TWENTY times. She passed ever single horse she ever faced save for one by a little head. A charging nose. She TOYED with fields. She ran her HEART out SEVERAL times to make the wire. She maneuvered and swung 6 wide. But, every single time, she got the wire, save for one charging nose.

  • The mare was definitely gaining on Blame at every stride....Zenyatta is a 10-12 furlong horse...a throwback to the great routers that ran back then when great horses were judge on how well they can compete at 10-12 furlongs....

Now we have fake horses that cannot even run 10 furlongs....overrated and overhyped Rachel and Havre....two horses that cannot win any 10 furlong race of any kind....

  • They raced once Blame won, deal with it Zenyatta fans. You talk about how much ground she made up in the stretch, she also ran that much slower during the first part of the race Blame had to squeeze through a wall of horses, it wasnt easy to do, trust me i was standing 50 ft from it when it happened. No im not claiming Blame is better, but that day he was.

  • That overrated nag didn't pass Blame.

  • @greyhoundsylvester This coming from a greyhound racing fan?? HAHAHAHAH THanks for the cool story, bro.

  • @greyhoundsylvester Blame should have come back for a 2011 campaign to win HOY. You know, just like Zenyatta did when she was shafted in 2009.

  • Re-Match bitches!!! She got held up at the beggining of the stretch, mike made a little mistake of keeping her on the rail.... That short period of time she spent on the rail, then going to the outside was plenty for her to have in the last 5 seconds, she would of had it. I think zenyatta could kick blames ass even after retirement, in style...

  • @psychojoker131 HAHAHAH There wasn't a horse running that could beat Zenyatta in her days. Plenty of opportunity for everyone in the community to bring their horses to her in order to test them. Let one thing be str8, Zenyatta was the queen of racing at her time, others come to HER. Not the other way around. Her connections had that luxury of knowing that she could beat any horse out there. No point in stressing her with travel and all the chances that involves with injury. She was a RARE GEM

  • This is Blame's FAVORITE DIRT COURSE and BLAME barely held off a supposedly "SYNTHETIC" horse the first time she ran on this dirt course and IDIOTS HERE BELEIVE BLAME IS A BETTER HORSE???

    BWAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHA

  • Even when she was 14-15 lengths back that is a amazing strech run!

  • Dude, her and blame blew the field away in the homestretch....HHAAHHAA. Hilarious that people think she was a nag. What a joke these people are.....unreal.

  • I didn't know that Zenyatta and Blame were related...

  • @mshobohorse almost all racehorses are related nowadays

  • Zenyatta always Gallops out like that she always uses her racing gear which is relaxing until asked,, she started relaxing as usual.. She thought she won..

  • ugh so close girlfriend

  • at 0:19 Zenyatta got her nose in front of Blame. but even so, the whole gallop out argument is flawed because Mike Smith stood up in the stirrups after the finish. For all we know, Zenyatta could have blown by him and opened up by 5 lengths had Smith kept riding her all the way through.

  • @Peachycanyon

I absolutely agree with you. robfla needs to re-watch the video

  • @Peachycanyon

It was actually just head to head, she never got by him. Is it that hard to swallow?

  • @queenluciaa she got her head in front after the wire, but like I said the whole gallop out argument doesn't mean anything because horses typically stop running after they cross the wire anyway. I've long since accepted the result of the Classic as I have accepted that Zenyatta was by far the greatest racehorse I'd ever seen. For me, that's pretty easy to swallow.

  • @Peachycanyon

I was there the day Ghostzapper threw back a Dubai World Cup winner, and a Derby & Preakness winner with ease. Threw out multiple track records, and sky high beyer speed figures. That horse was Horse of the Decade without a doubt. I know you've met Zenyatta in person, so your very biased towards her. As I am to Rachel Alexandra and Ghostzapper. A wise person once said -"The greatest racehorse of alltime, is your favorite horse. The horse that kept you wanting for more."

  • @queenluciaa Ghostzapper was good and maybe even great, but the only race where he faced true quality was the Breeder's Cup Classic and even then only a few horses were notable. Had they thrown any speed at all at him that day and Zenyatta was in the race I'd take her in a second. I don't deny the bias, but that's not why I think she's the greatest. Lava Man was my favorite horse for years, but I didn't think he was anywhere near the greatest in the country.

  • @Peachycanyon

Lava Man was the best horse in California since Tiznow. But I agree with you, Zenyatta is a lot better than him. But Ghostzapper was a machine. His beyer's where second to none, and he did face a lot of legitimate competition. He beat eventual HOTY and BCC winner Saint Liam, Roses In May, Funny Cide, Pleasently Perfect, etc. That BCC field might have been one of the greatest ever. Even though thats not saying much considering its only been running a little over 2 Decades.

  • @Peachycanyon

He beat 2 BCC winners, Azeri the HOTY, a world cup winner, a derby and preakness winner, G1 winner Perfect Drift. In Zenyatta's case, she would have hated the Lone Star track worse than Churchill. Very sandy. She would have given a good effort in that race, but Ghostzapper was wired that day. He lead the whole race, and pulled away as if he was racing a couple of claimers.

  • @queenluciaa - Perfectly said. To think Zenyatta was a lick better then Ghostzapper is just utter nonsense....IMO. His final race he was throwing up crazy fractions, and did it all in hand......Zapper was the best horse since The Bid.

  • @queenluciaa - In America that is.

  • @Peachycanyon The "never passes in the gallup out" was such a garbage argument. Like you say, horses stop running and you could see she stops her all out bid after they pass. Blame doesn't. Anyone who thinks Blame is a better horse than Zenyatta needs their head examined. Perfect example was his JCGC run where he basically gives up running after Haynesfield. He was a good horse on his favorite track. Zenyatta was nearly 20 something lengths back at one point in this race.

  • @Kostly Agreed. The more I watch the race the more convinced I am that Zenyatta was by far the best horse in the race. With every stride she was eating away at Blame's lead and if Mike Smith hadn't stood up in the stirrups after the wire she would have blown by him. But she didn't need to win to prove her greatness. Coming from as far back as she did and coming so close to victory will be remembered in the same light as Man O' War overcoming what he did to nearly beat Upset.

  • @Peachycanyon More like her great grand father Native Dancer at the Derby. Same race different era is all. look it up it will look like a Zenyatta race in black and white.

  • @Race62hud and I'm sure there were a few of lunatics back then who actually believed Dark Star was better. I guess things haven't changed much since then. There'll always be someone who just doesn't understand greatness.

  • @Peachycanyon ahh thank you for remembering MOW! it seems almost no one acknowleges his greatness anymore and its all about secretariat

  • @Peachycanyon Excellent comment!

  • @Kostly - That is nonsense IMO. there were 4 LEGIT 10 furlong horses in that race. They finished 1-2-3-4. The rest of the field was stumbling home. So no kidding she passed 11 horses in the lane. As for the JCGC, that was BLames first run at 10 furlongs, and EVERYONE with a lick of horse experience knows that Haynesfield had a tactiaclly brilliant run from his jock, and threw up slow fractions, and was able to steal the race. Do you know tactics at all???. Blame won Get over it.

  • @TicinoParadise BWAHAHAHAH A tactical run in the JCGC?? HAHAHAHAH Haynesfield was all out from the get go and if you watched the race, you'd know that haynesfield had NOTHING left with an eighth to go. Absolutely gassed. Where was the superhorse, Blame? HAHAHAHAH Some 4 lengths behind....

  • @TicinoParadise

    Is that you Jason Shandler?

  • @DBJKAJ Not nearly pompous enough to be him.

  • @TicinoParadise With a clean trip Zenyatta beats Blame easy. Sure Blame won, but what did that prove? Nothing. Zenyatta is widely considered to be an all time great. Blame is an answer to a trivia question. Zenyatta wins. Get over it

  • @Kostly u must have been watching a different race then everyone else, why don'y u guys try to get another camera angle maybe u can find one coming out of BLAMES ass so u can still see that zenyatta lost race she was behind him the whole race. The only time she will ever be in front of BLAME is when he is fuck'n the shit out of her in the breeding shed. HaHa. sore losers.

  • @Zuraloser I'm glad Blame fans have guys like you representing them. It further reassures us Zenyatta fans that we're debating a bunch of morons.

  • @Peachycanyon Moron u guys think blame fans r morons, he won the fucking race a year ago, and u stupid-asses r still debating it like there's something u can change about it. let it go, he didn't steal the race he was just simply the better horse on that particular day.

  • @Kostly and she got boxed in coming round the 2nd turn. if mike let her go to the outside as usual i think she may have won, as she would not have to waste time weaving between every one
