Top ranking! Inner london violence is my favorite Bad Manners song. Keyboards are what I love best about the Jamaican sound. It is so cool to watch someones hands while they play reggae and ska.
Thanks for the compliment! Yes, the VK-7 sounds superb, I love it. The only problem with it is lugging it around, for a 'portable' organ it weighs a ton, but it is built like a tank!
wow dude i just noticed i play it wrong.. please make a tutorial im like very anctious to leanr it cuz my band wants to cover this song but we cant and i cant get it by ear.. please make a lil quick tutorial.. by the way i love parrots haha they look funky... please dude.. i beg you..
please i know most of it because of watcing your vid over and over but i need the fast solo part please tutorial on that please dude please!!! im just 14 and im in a ska band and i wanna cover this song... please
Hi, thanks for your interest! I'm pretty sure the way I play that solo isn't the same as the original but anyway, the first part (which I think IS the same as the original) is just the three notes of the Cm and F chords played individually (so G > Eb > C 4 times then A> F > C 4 times) then the rest of it is basically improvisation using the notes of the blues scale in Cm...
Use only these notes for the blues scale: C, Eb, F, F#, G, Bb. It takes some practice but try going up and down those scales fast, that's basically what I do in this solo, it's similiar to the notes in some songs by The Stranglers. Hope this helps, let me know if you want any further help. Good luck!
dude!!!!!!!!!!!!!!<3 i love your ska playng skills!! !i can pnly play pro stuff but i love ska more than what i play.. by the way the video of my piano playng isnt how i good i am currently...sooo dude please make a tutorial please dude!
Just wondering... during the verse when you're striking the chords with your right hand how do you create that ska rhythm? Do you strike the notes in the chord at the same time? or do you hit one note then strike the rest? For example, on Cm do you strike C first then Eb and G at the same time? That's what I'm having a tough time with...
Thanks for your comment. On this song, I hit all three notes in the chord at the same time although doing them separately works quite well for some songs. It took me ages to get the ska rhythm right, the trick is to play the chords very quickly with the right hand and on the offbeat, I'll try and explain, L is left hand and R is right hand and 0 is don't play anything:
LRLR0RLR
The pause creates the distinctive rhythm and as I said, hold the L hand notes down slightly longer than the R hand
Hi there, the drawbar registration I used is 929292909 although it also sounds good with the 1' drawbar pushed in all the way. No percussion, but I used a little bit of overdrive and the onboard 'Leslie'
Amazing keywork! The VK7 sounds great! Hope you up load more Bad Manners songs, preferably "Just A feeling"! Also if you do, could you post the chords? Massive respect!
would love to learn this! would a tutorial be possible?

¡forme las cuerdas que usted quiere jugarlas y dar una palmada abajo en la posición respecto al golpe!

could you send me the music sheets on that it was awsome
zibe2006 3 years ago
I haven't been able to find any sheet music for this song as it's fairly obscure.
Here is my version of how to play it:
Intro:
chords (right hand) Cm F
bass (left hand) Eb D C F# F
note: the left hand is only single notes.
Verses/chorus (same chords and bassline), play with a ska rhythm
Right hand chords: Cm and F
I can't remember the bassline as I'm not in front of the organ but you can get away with repeating the intro bassline
Should get you started.

thanks for that i appriciate it but watching you play again has made me realise i am a long way off your level
