Just put a couple or 1 piston on a box and make it go fall then use the pistons to make it go back up (High gravity) when it falls (low gravity) and thats all you do.
@LegendTube1 all you have to do is make a big box put stuff in it and move it to the top of your level... then you have to make a bunch of launch pads (trampolines powered by pistons) and then when you put it on play-mode when the platform is going up gravity is heavier and when it is going down the gravity is much lighter :D
Nice gameplay idea. Already seen in "Space Station 424".
You could make it even more confusing by adding some more twists. Add 4-directional gravity changes by placing a piece of dark matter, adding a horizontal piston which leads to a piece of metal. Add a vertical piston that connects the piece of metal another piece of metal straight above it. Place the main playing area in front of the second piece of metal and connect them using a wobble bolt.
I thought of something similar, had trouble getting the pistons to move quick enough and with enough power to simulate gravity - just made it feel like the room was moving to the side. Maybe if I went back and fiddled with it some more I could get it working right.
As for Space Station 424, I've never heard of it. I made this level back in the days of the beta, so I'm not sure which level came first.
Yeah, I can see the problem. Maybe if you synchronize the two pistons so that the left/right movement is only present while the whole level is moving downwards (objects and players are floating, no ground friction), you could intensify the effect.
I'm pretty sure your level was first; I don't think space station 424 has been made back in the Beta days (this was a great time btw^^).
I thought about making some gravitational puzzles. Could be really interesting.
Be careful, as it's really easy for things to mess up, including getting the main room stuck. I suggest using small grids to line up glass guiders as close to the room as you can
Yup, you got it. However, the "reverse" of gravity is really just slamming into the top of the room, haha. Adding jets to increase the reversed gravity is a really good idea though, I might go for it. Usually the force of bouncing off the top creates enough downward momentum to make it seem like gravity is reversed, though.
the box was falling when it was low/no gravity and going up when it was heavyer than normal. if it were anti grav for too long, I think the sackboy would die of falling.
I LOVE FARTS!!!

how to did u make to heavy gravity did u use pistons??

Apparently MM had to take a 'gravity slider' out of the final version of the game, but they said it could easily be added in a future update :)

Heehee, I know how you did this: it's simple physics.
No Gravity: Falling objects seem to have no gravity relative to a falling container they are in.
Heavy Gravity: Going up! Weight is increased when travelling upwards at a constant velocity to maintain force balance!
Reverse: Box accelerates downwards at speed! Weight is transferred to an upward velocity relative to the box because of momentum and inertia!

can u make it in a way that the zero gravity affect will last much loner to we can mess around in that enviroment longer ? THX
Fancylock 3 years ago
Sorry, the way I did it makes it only last a short time. As far as I know, there's no other way to "alter" the gravity.

Yep, it's been published. Dunno which page it's on, but it can be found at the north pole on the planet. I'd suggest searching for it.

Yup dude just played it awesome level.

how do you make it so that when you die. you automaticley go to the scoreboard?
littlebigprominence 3 years ago
I put the entrance on a floor made of dissolve material. After the player starts the game, the checkpoint falls to where the scoreboard is.
NewbDragoon 3 years ago
i saw how he did it
he made the whole stage a 'cube' or something
then he attached Rockets to the bottom, so that the emphasis of gravity is the 'cube' being pushed into the air then faling....
kinda like being in an airplane while its falling to the earth, feels like zero gravity
koikeiya 3 years ago
look its amazing

Awesome!
How on earth is this done? O_o
stix45 3 years ago
My guess is that they make the whole level move either up or down really fast.
