These are the ladies of my youth. Their voices carried me through 2 tours in
Viet-Nam. I have been an avid fan of both ever since. I lost over 400 friends back then and sent many to their God but still hold onto the sound of these two gals.
I could not end a night without it. Thank you Judy and Joan!!!!
Brings back so many memories of the Dylan/Baez collaboration and love affair all those years ago. Now THAT was a power couple!! Judy Collins remains a diamond.
Judy has always been, to me, very sexy. She's still physically gorgeous and still has a great voice that melts men like me. Joan has lost her spectacular voice, unfortunately, as there was a time when I would have said Joan had a better voice. It's too bad - no disrespect meant - that Judy was not allowed to sing this song solo. However, thank you, Joan, for writing such a beautiful song; it was Bob's loss to not have you.
Oh... They sound wonderful. How nice to see these two amazing singers performing together! I agree, they get better with age - just like good wine. Thank you for posting this.
I was surprised how great they sounded. I think judy was great. think it would of been a great performance if joan wasnt holding down sheet music and they were just into it singing. But its all good.
Awesome - love the comaradarie and respect that Joan and Judy have for one another - this is so obvious - the hugs at the end of the song were so beautiful. D & R with Joan and Judy is now available on Joan's latest CD Paradise - love it.
@Proculled Oh you lucky thing - I've been a fan of Joan's for nearly 50 years and have yet to see her in concert, I live in Australia. Judy's CD's is wonderful each song is wonderful, however D & R with Joan is the greatest of course - I get goosebumps every time I listen to them - I believe Judy recorded her part in NY and Joan somewhere in a studio in SF and it came together beautifully.
it's a pity it was not Joan Baez who were playing that guitar. I love 12strings, and that was a too easy way to play it. However, that performance is wonderful. Not perfect, but wonderful.
Touchant...
there's on the tube a video in which she... doesn't... it's marvellous, she was laughing for that and asking public for help.. I'm not speaking about _this_ performance, we can't know about it, and however she was singing with another artist.
They only get better with age. Thanks for posting this recent video of these ladies. I couldn't believe how much fun I had seeing Joan Baez the last time, only a few years ago. In 1968 at UCLA she was much more political. It was during the war of course and tensions ran high. She still hates war, but knows how to kick up her heels a little more.

Why is Joan looking at the words as if she never saw the song before. She wrote the dang thing.... it WAS a beautiful song. Their voices are not aging well
You are out of your mind. Both of them over seventy and you are judging the quality of their voices from an outdoor amateur video. I dont know about Baez, but I have seen Collins in concert very recently and her voice has not aged a day in fifty years.
@flierumph Joan is reading the scribbled notes as to who was to sing which words/lines as they had not practiced together prior to the performance...and yes it is a beautiful song.
@flierumph Hello, I think I may have responded to either you or someone else before. If you notice the weather in very windy/rainy and the papers were flapping everywhere - the reason why both of them are looking at the "words" is that only just prior (like minutes) before their performance of this song they had to work out who sang what parts, and that's what they were looking at - whose turn it was and when to sing together.
@SaskiaCornell and cont'd As for your opinion of their voices not aging well, you are being very judgmental, of course you are entitled to your opinion, however I totally disagree with you. Do you really want Joan and Judy to still have the voices of 20+ year olds at their ages - Joan is 69, Judy I'm not sure. Bless them for singing their hearts out for us.
@flierumph You have got to be kidding me. They both sound lovely. Keep in mind, this is an amateur video made with a camcorder or camera. Their voices sound amazing still. Go have a listen to someone like Marianne Faithfull or Joni Mitchell (love them, but THEIR voices have not aged well!) and then come back and listen to these beautiful ladies again. They sound great.
Watch! At the very beginning, just before they start singing, when the crowd recognizes the tune and starts cheering, Judy says to Joan, "I told you so." LOL

Judy Blue Eyes still can nail it. And Ms. Baez has more left than most people ever had. A great duet.
