Pat Boone covered Tutti Fruiti. For some REALLY DUMB reason it was that the white general public wouldn't listen to the music by Black singers. HOW STUPID was that.

Hank Ballard help solve this problem by traveling around the south and visiting white station disk jockeys and convincing them to play black music after midnight when the bosses were asleep.

I belong to the New England Doo-Wop Society based in Chicopee Mass.We have concerts every 3 months. A couple of weeks ago we had Vito and the Salutations. On June 6 Kenny Vance and the Planotones will be there and in the fall Jimmy Gallagher and the Passions. In the past we have had the Teenagers,Earls,Cleftones,Chim­es,Five Discs,Norman Fox and the Rob Roys,and the Tokens.
