OMG! This is like one of my favorite songs from the 80's! I remember when this song came out on the radio, the DJ would never and I mean never say who the singer was so I recorded it off the radio on a cassette and kept it for years. Then one day I finally found it here on youtube by typing in the chorus. You could imagine my relief to finally know who it was and now it is on my ipod and I cant get enough of it just like in '85. One of the best songs of the 80's here! I just love it! :-D

At the end of the song when you hear him sing.....the left hold it tight....turn the volume down really low and you can hear their daughter wailing. Read that on George's bio on their website!! Are they married again....saw pictures of him wearing a wedding band but nothing about him getting remarried.

@shmuli9 I was living living in the Southeast US at the time and it got a fair amount of airplay. I too bought the 45 and it still baffles me that this wasn't a much bigger hit nationwide -- it only reached #39 on the Billboard Hot 100.

@ab348 Definitely 1985.....Boy Meets Girl's first album which is this one....their self entitled album was 1985 which was before their Reel Life album which was 1988. George Merrill's hair was also short in this video and long in Waiting for a Star to Fall!!

Yes, it hit No. 39 on April 6, 1985, according to my Billboard book -- so it barely cracked the top 40. It should have been a bigger hit. Great song!
