  • Now this...is music!

  • very nice song....

  • I'm only 15, and i LOVE this song! Sunday Night Golden Oldies party, you ROCK!

  • This is what music should be like! I was born in the 80's and this is a million times better than the auto tuned stuff that is released today!

  • I wasnt born in 60's in was born in the 70's and this movie didnt bring me to this song. I lived it and recall to this day at the Marine Ball in DC all of us singing to the girls we were dating at the time. The good memories!! Semper Fi

  • One of my mns favz and its one of my favz

  • 7 people weren't held, thrilled or kissed

  • my early days as a fireman , the pub opposite the fire station , and the ladies that tucked us into bed , now just terrific memories .

  • Boy does this bring back memories.... Thumbs Up...

  • i wasnt a soldier in 65,but this song hit me right between they eyes nevertheless. esp the line were say they never stood in dark alone with her...chills!!!

  • OMG , The memories will never die as long as this song is still being sung!!!!

  • A long ago romance. My girlfriend would sing "Till" by the Angels to me. I would sing "Hold me, thrill me, Kiss me to her." A Heaven made romance.

  • JUST BEAUTIFUL

    I SO LOVE THIS SONG!

  • True but yet we didn't have the stress we have today with politicans and their crap, caalifa21239. I'd much rather have things simpler than have live in what we have to endure with some of the things we do now.

  • Oh why did these days have to go away? Life was so simple back then but yet we didn't have much to worry about.

  • @ladyhklberry Except for ww2 and incurable disease...

  • @califa213239 Yeah it is a good thing war and incurables diseases are a thing of the past now and just knowing that the traditional family is still intact and everyone knows who their neighbors are makes it all alright again. But seriously now folks doesn't just having cellphones, computers, I -pods and cable TV make losing all that simple life just so worth it? At least now everyone knows where we all are and what we all are thinking

  • @Appleholic1 That's the thing about it, though. Technology makes us able to communicate even more so, so an average person in Japan gets bombed today, everyone would know about it within seconds instead of having to wait to hear from the government as we did back then. We were so isolated which is why it was so simple.

  • Too many memories of my husband that now is in heaven. .. . miss him

  • @DEdancer07 Sorry to hear that, may he R.I.P xx

  • I ALWAYS LOVED THIS SONG!

  • Yes, NcLG...4U!

  • awwwwwh<3 (:

  • Dang! What an awesome song!

  • Reminds me of walking at night around our little town,no sound at all but this song in my head. So many years ago. So sad those days are gone.

  • this song reminds me of my mom, dancing around the house and singing this song...always think of her when i hear..Miss you and love you mom..

  • Good movie :)

  • Reminds me of when my Father used to hold me as a young child and walk around the house. :)

  • BEAUTIFUL!!!! I was a wedding reception DJ and I always packed the dancefloor

with this song-this is one of those ultimate slow dance songs!!! Hearing it just makes you want to wrap your arms around that special someone and sway on the dance floor!

  • @2009Denisem ...Wow it took me 10 months to catch up to you on this one. I was listening to this "jewel" on another channel, and I went in one day and it was pulled...So I ended up here. What an "ELEGANT" song and look at all those "THUMBS" ups... You are just a "ROCK STAR" in your own rights... We eventually just end up on them same song..."BECAUSE" ....We were teens during the greatest era of music ever... The 60"s and 70"s...I am glad we were there.. RickzzSands....AKA...Mr. Las Vegas

  • One of the best love songs of all time!!!!! Thanks for the posting!!! Mike

  • my favorite song growing up :) well, this & "Hit the Road Jack"; I used to make my mother play this song over and over again when i was little, and i still absolutely love this song at 24

  • -.- These are the songs that actually have emotion. I'm 16. I listen to all of these songs because they make sense. not that SHIT that they call music. My generation makes me sick...

  • i wish i could have lived in this time where this music was more popular and i wouldnt be critisized its hard being 17 and listening to this music at my age

  • @Xxwhitelightning Thats because you have taste and class which a lot of your peers don't :) Enjoy any type of music you want.

  • 2009Denisem perfectly worded. I am in 100% agreement with you.

  • O YES!

This song was and still is one of the GREATEST songs and this VIDEO is GREAT!!

    Love it,

    WOW!!

    I love this Song!!

    Cynthia

  • This song was in mel gibsons We Were Soldiers, song and composed by Mel Carter.

    Coincidence?

  • This song will play at our wedding.

  • @mrtoughpants You couldn't have picked a better song I've been dancing to this song for forty years and it makes me fall in love every time. congradulation's on your up and coming wedding.

  • One of the BEST< BEST slow dancing songs out here!!!

    Love it

  • I remember dancing slow dancing to this in high school. A big guy was holding me, and the heat between us was unforgettable. They just don't make music like that any more.

  • @wolfmanjude but.....your name is Wolf man Jew......wtf!?

  • Many Saturday nites at the drive in, listening to this.. lol

  • One of the best songs ever.

  • @2009Denisem .. Oh my gosh.. I can't believe it.. Here we are again..Even though your comment is 8 months old, we just seem to end up in the same place.. Wow is this the most beautiful.. "LUSH" song ever?? Man this song just "ROCKS" my world, and is a "HEART" melter.. How in the world do you top this...And yet as we navigate through all the oldies on you-tube it's just like a "TREASURE" hunt, and the "GOLDEN" oldies just keep us coming back for more..."WOW" look @ all those thumbs up.. good job

  • I could play this song over and over and never get sick of it!

  • #246 greatest songs of the 60s

  • music isn't the same.. smh i loveeee this song!

  • Does this bring back tha memories in vietnam

  • Played at a high school prom somewhere, summer 1965, just before all the boys went to Vietnam...sad

  • @LDD86 ALL the boy's

  • Thanks to Never let me go...!

  • Boy do I remember this song/year!

  • @memicca, and no one wants to read about how you think you are cool because you say you speak for yourself and others on things that have no importance at all. Get over yourself and get a life mate, it's just a comment.

  • @gotskittles1 Seriously, no one cares how old you are. We all realize that music like this is "classic", and a lot of younger people don't listen to it or appreciate it. However, It's not really impressive if you're "young" and do. It just means that you have taste. I,like other people, are seriously getting sick of reading comments, saying things like, "oldies r awesome i may be 13 but they rock" or what have you. No one think's you're "cool" because of it. Kudos for having taste though.

  • @gotskittles1 You must be a Hopeless Romantic.....Perfect!

  • @gotskittles1 I believe you're 13, oldies dont "rock"

how can you offend oldies music like that

  • This reminds me of my first love. We're no longer together, but I used to sing this to her over twenty years ago. Memories are all I have now....I miss being young...

  • ... y continuando con el soul sinfonico!!! "abrazame, estrechame y besame"

  • god this is great , so are the memories .

  • Heard this in "we were soldiers" amazing scene and brings the song to a great light

  • @thatsaucy me 2

  • love this song !

  • Wonderful singing!!!

    Dick

  • we were soldiers

  • @gods0creation123 Exactly what I was thinking. Great movie.

  • I totally agree with everyone on this page. We really need to get back to this type of songwriting. Total class!!

  • By the Love of God what happened to these good songs. Might have been born in a different generation but what a great master piece

  • one question......why was't i born in the 50's? am stuck listening to gabbage full of naked ppl

  • @3232obaayaa27 agreed.

  • if you love this listen also to:.....to be loved by jackie wilson....same vibe, same feel....

  • @2009Denisem well as long as nobody mentions the word *whispers* R-E-M-I-X we'll be safe... justin bieber hears all

  • No two ways about it, Mel Carter OWNS this song! I have loved his voice and this song forever and feel all "tingly" every time I hear it. Definitely have to hit the replay button. Thanks OrchidsNights.

  • Mel does by far the best version of this song.

  • @2009Denisem it's just too bad we'll never get this kind of talent back

  • I am with my new love... she just left a few hours ago, and THIS tune does it :-)

  • <3

Im 14 but I still LOVE this song.

  • Thanks for a great post, those old memories of really getting close to that special someone while slow dancing back in the day and in the movie with Mel Gibson, "We Were Soilders" as the soilders danced their last night away before going to VietNam, very touching, 2 thumps up.

  • @2009Denisem thanks, you took words from my lips.

  • Alwats a great song.

  • @gotskittles1 thats great youngin, but keep it to yourself, people judge like crazy dont push your beliefs

  • oldies rock... all that gaga n bieber shit shudnt b mentioned in the same breath as the REAL artistes

  • No song line is better than " But they never stood in the dark with you, love."

  • we are a lucky generation in so far as we can sit at our computers night after night and listen to music of such quality.

  • @roundhouserecords.......no shit!!! LoL

  • my cousin Charles Ray sang this at my Uncle Farbus' wedding in 1968..Uncle was mad because he wanted a Sinatra tune....

  • OLD is pure GOLD

  • love this song! He was fantastic on the Doo Wop show on PBS

  • Another beautiful song :). Thanks for posting

  • @RoundHouseRecords It died that's what happened.

  • @BIGBOIJARRED808 it didnt just die, it was made into a zombie with the garbage we see and hear today, with garbage like "gangster rap", and maybe songs with angry or dirty or disrespectful messages. i dont know whether to be amazed or disgusted at what some call "art"

  • @2009Denisem ~ You just said it all!!!!!

  • Why can't music be like this anymore? Even if the lyrics aren't the happiest, all oldies songs always make you feel happy

What the hell happened to music these days???

  • The music of the 50's and 60's will last forever, unlike today's music, which really isn't music at all, just vulgar suggestive words, that you won't be hearing in 50 years. I miss the golden age of music. My car radio is locked on channel 5 sirus/xm the 50's channel.

  • LOVELY !!!!!!!!!!!

  • My aunt used to walk around singing this, and my grandfather would say, "I wish somebody would go ahead and kiss her so she'd shut up!" (smile)
