  • THX !

  • Really nice voicings!! They sound great!!

  • Great!!!...

  • What exactly do you mean by block chords? My knowledge of chord theory and construction is fairly intermediate but I've never heard that term before.

  • Second that, please explain to us n00bs ;-)

  • block chords generally refer to when you keep the same hand shape and move it around the neck of the guitar. Bar Chords can be considered "Block Chords"

  • Ah, gotcha. Thanks. =D

  • Oh. I've always learned to call them "chord shapes" instead of block chords, because the shape stays the same no matter where you move it on the neck.

  • Block chords means the notes of the chord are played together, as opposed to broken chords (or arpeggios) where the notes are played one after another in rising/falling patterns. Doesn't matter whether you keep the same shape or use different voicings (or inversions) of each chord. Bar chords, like any other chord, can be blocked or arpeggiated.

  • Really? That's all? Huh. I never would have thought that there was a specific term to describe simply playing a chord, lawl.

  • Thanks a lot! This makes comping on this tune much more interesting.

  • Who are you?

  • please do this for tons of songs. Jobim songs.

  • hey, thanks a lot.

    The girl from Impanema . . .

For me, the guitar represents a formidable opponent. I enjoy the keyboards much more. Anyway, what do you say about you?

    What's your current situation?
