what are those lances made of?

They are made with cardboard tubes from roles of carpet and #3 soccer balls duct taped to the end. I think we cut them to around 8'. The soccers balls really help absorb alot of the impact! Your ribs dont really start hurting until the 4th or 5th joust. Give it a try.
