You seem to be getting a lot of heat, but I think this is well made and I don't see it as shipp-y at all! The love for a sibling or other family member goes deep and this song is totally appropriate. Thank you for making it and sharing it!
I love the part where Eomer finds her on the Pellenor fields. The desperation in his eyes is just beautiful acting. I always crie at that part, especially when you hear him scream.
Great video! I love it.
I like it that you have Faramir in the video too!
@cheesejoose I think it's perfect for them, poor Éomer was very distraught when he found his sister on the battlefield. What's so wrong with saying you'd be devastated if you lost your sister? I know I'd be beside myself if I lost my little brother.
@Missy9415 ...Yes, responding in a reasonable way to your unfounded assumptions means he/she needs to chill the hell out. Honestly, get off your high horse and be civil.
I love their brother/sister relationship, and I love how they may not make it obvious that they love each other, you really can tell that they do. And the scene from 2:50 to 3:00 was one of the hardest scenes from the movie. I wish I had an older brother that loved me like that. Great video.
That is a great scene. Eomer is such a battle tested and hardened character but the sight of his sister lying on the battlefield causes such anguish he loses all composure in his sorrow. Well done Carl Urban.
I'm having same thoughts, though I know some of them. Were some of the scenes when they are talking together (like 1:55) in RotK? RotK is the one I'm least familiar with...could tell you every part of the other two lol...
@xxBoRoMeRxx And? No part of the video implied a sexual relationship and the song is about familial love. And don't throw cheap insults around. It just exposes you as a uncult manchild.
This particular scene, Eomer is actually no where near her. He's gone, after having been exiled. This scene is right after Theodred's funeral, where young Eothain and Freda arrive on Garulf and Gandalf sees them. Gandalf counsels King Theoden to face Sauron and Saruman's forces head on, which Theoden refuses. And here, Eowyn says something like "The wildmen are burning as they go, food, cot and tree..." or whatever... something like that. : )
That deleted scene is in the Extended Edition... can't find it on YouTube, but I'll try to summarize it for you. : )
After Eowyn encourages Merry to go get his blade sharpen at the "smitty", Eomer is basically telling Eowyn that Merry would not stand and fight in a battle, that he would flee once the horror and screams and blood take over, and that war is the province of men.
Hi. I just thought I'd let you know, i just uploaded that scene onto my account - its probably the one i'm most disappointed about peter jackson deleting. it was only about 15 seconds longer, but incredibly powerful.
Did you know what happen to the scenes/stills that did not appear in the special editions:
1)Eowyn holding Merry in her arms during battle; 2)Galadriel holding Arwen as she is dying and 3) Eowyn lifting a dagger as orcs go inside the cave in the 2 towers.
Hey! umm... not sure I understand what you're saying/asking. Are you saying that those scenes exist somewhere and that they're not on the EE? Or are you asking me why they're not on the EE? Cuz of the three you described, I never saw any of them.
Sorry, forgot the question mark. I have the EE versions also. But if u were like me & bought the 1st Fellowship dvd you saw an advance of the 2 towers. One of those scenes had an orc approaching & I believe it's Eowyn on the other side of a wall waiting to strike(9:51-9:54 of behind the scenes TT segment). A friend of mine had TT dvd with an advance of ROTK & there was a slightly longer farwell scene between Merry & Pippin. The other scenes I saw when Jackson commented of the peril of the quest
If I should think what they did with that scene; Is that they made it, but never used it because its not relevant enough, and timepressure...To bad accually ...
I think there were other scenes in the movie that went a little long (Arwen reminescing for example). But as character development or dramatic impact some of the scenes cut would've been a sight to see. Oh well, hope they at least put it on deleted scenes if they ever come out on Blu-ray.
Can someonne tell me the where the clip at 02:50 til 03:02 something is from? When Eomer finds Eowyn lying hurt on the ground? Haven't seen this part before! Please answer
i think it's my favorite scene in the entire trilogy because it's the only one that shows how much they love each other, emotion is so not either of their styles
I was so touched when I first watched 'The Return of the King' when Eomer finds Eoweyn on the battlefield. His cry, and his expression of deep dispare really moved me. Sometimes we are so sterile regarding our emotions, or downplay their intensity. Thanks for making such a great video!
I love the scene, when he lifts her up from the ground, crying and thinking she's dead. I can hardly imagine that there should be anything more precious than the love of two siblings. I myself really would die if I lost my brother!

YESS finally someone made an Eowyn/Eomer music video. Eowyn belongs with Eomer, without a doubt. Eomer's reaction when he thought his sister was dead proves it. Yeah, I know you're going to say, "but they're siblings," but the fact that they are brother and sister only makes their romantic relationship even more special and powerful. Kudos!
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
it is too strong of a bond to not be true love; I am not *sexualizing* it, I just think the bond they have is so deep, yes it is strong and beautiful, so much emotion, that it would make sense if they fell in love. If you think about it for a second there is not a real moral reason for brothers and sisters to fall in love; loving does not hurt anyone so it shouldn't be zeen as wrong
I think tolkien knew the hearts of Eowyn and Eomer a little more than you. Hence Eomer wedding Lothiriel. And Faramir and Eowyn's love is amazing, I don't see why anyone should resort to incestuous pairings? And if you can't see the moral reasons on why it's wrong then that's baffling and I hope you don't have siblings.
Yeah, you're kind of missing the point. Their family relationship kind of foils Faramir's, where even two brothers cannot openly express affection for each other. Denethor is cold, but they are passionate, loving each other and their country fiercely.
She cried for her brother and her father also. But being the doted-on princess, seeing her dead was a fear of the whole family. She was the one spot of purity they hoped to save from war. And given her passion they knew she'd want to fight.
I can also see no sexual aspect in this. Their love is pure, but not romantic. It is innocent and mature. There are other kinds of love than sexual relationships... I think there are a lot of people who don't understand that! You don't need a lover in your life to happy and content!!
this was ment as a comment to "heismyoxygen"... again didn't work... as always... dont't know why it never work when I try to reply to a comment ^^..??
Ehh.. I don't mind the whole brother and sister thing. Quite frankly, I say fuck the "moral reasons", love is love. But this relationship seems like a typical brother-sister bond to me. ;P
