Why is everyone putting a picture of Lambda vs Bern on this song. I remember this song as "Battler avenging Lambda". That was an epic scene which truly struck me right in the heart. "Take it back"
Anyway, my take is that all of Higurashi takes place in a story that Rika is telling someone (in keeping with the PoMo themes in Umineko). The logic error is that it's real-Rika telling the story, so she has to have survived to tell it, meaning that she has to figure out just how she survived.
Thanks for uploading this awesome BGM, but it actually plays when Battler fights Bernkastel, not when Lambadelta fights here. Now I can finally understand why they gave him worldend as his theme in the fighting game, it makes no sense before watching this fight.
@eugulaid well it depends. Auau is the most powerful witch in terms of power. but she's limited in who she can use her power on.. so it was basically agreed that lambda, who could do anything with certainty, was the most powerful witch, as she looked like she had no limits. but then bern came along and beat lambda, so bern became the most powerful witch.
also Auau likes to hibernate... so she's not really in the running. but if it was a fight between Auau vs anyone else, Auau would win.
@Viuki97 Exactly, I Tried explaining that Lamdadelta was on Takano miyo's side, and Bernkastel on Rika Furude's side, As Lambdadelta won, Bernkastel won too, you can see that at the end of Kai. As for Bernkastel, Isn't Frederica the witch part of Rika furude? Also for AuAu, ( Lol Poor Featherine ) I Bet those horns are for her memory, Oh I Mean Featherine IS The most powerful witch ( I Need to stop cussing Lambda ) As this is much Much MUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCH Read work,
@StarStareful Lamdadelta is NOT Takano, Lambdadelta only helped Takano in her wish to become a god however they are in no way related otherwise (The name and appearance is a red herring) Bernkastel is the manifestation of all the dead Rikas and her despair of her never escaping June 1983 so your right about that
@alfred4king Bernkastel is Rika herself, after she escaped from Hinamizawa, though she lost her humanity after all those years of inprisonment in that game. Confirmed in episode 6 of the VN...
@codyc67 In the first novels we learn that bern made a miraculous win against Lambda
In ep6 we learn that she was a piece, trapped in a logic error due to a master witch who lost her will and reason to continue the game, and was left in the blind trying to find a way out. She did, but broke a bit in the process.
In the "???" Aurora calls bern her "longest serving miko" and bern says she is responsible for her becoming cruel.
Then we have Higurashi and all the between likenesses.
@PMilk151 meh, ryu said a lot of it was just him messing around tho, dont forget, in ep 3's tea party bern tells lambda she'll reveal the culprit of higurasi and lambda goes "no dont! i havent finished reading it yeeeeeeeet"
tho then again, lambda was being fairly playful in all of that, lying about stuff she doesnt know. clda just been soley for the reference. imo i think ryu doesnt care bout their backgrounds that much, else he'd give it some continuity.
@digitalpiggy193 Well yeah, Higurashi doesn't play any role in Umineko... the referances are there just to add spice and depth (ie theorycrafting). It's highly plausible he never even bothered to think of a solid tie between the 2, since there is no need for it anyway.
In any case, my theory is what I think is the most straightforward explanation.
@PMilk151 My theory is that the game against Bern and Auaurora isn't Higurashi.
...butinsteadthatErikaisRika. With no absolute basis behind the theory, just the humor that Bern would've probably cracked Erika easily with that one long game. And I believe it'd take HELL+ to turn Bernkastel that cruel.
Dying is release; Bern would be begging for it. Rika died a trillion times. Etc. Not very solid at all, but humorous. (Besides. Higurashi didn't look like a logic error, to me.)
It is mentioned that once, Aurora's mind-device-thingie was damaged and she had a drastic personality change. Hanyuu's device IS damaged in Higurashi. So Aurora was forced to retire from that game, and the game lost it's purpose. A game with no purpose is another form of logic error. Since Aurora was retired, the pieces were trapped trying to fix it, but with no knowledge what was happening. The rest I've already said.
The logic error was that Rika dies in some of the iterations of higurashi, and yet the rest of the town doesn't go crazy and/or die, yet this was established in the "rules" of the game later on. That's my theory anyway.
@Namimi1 I was always under the impression that the logic error was the fact Hanyuu was convinced they could just wait it out and a happy ending would come. The rules of the game though stated that was impossible, but she still believed and pursued it as a strategy to win the game, thus causing a logic error. Again, just a thought.
@alfred4king If you've read the final arc of higurashi sound novel, it should be obvious that Takano's boss who she talks to on the phone is lambda, she acts exactly like lambda! but no, no one believed me until it was confirmed that she's not Takano.
@xGodJoshuax Both of you are wrong Lambdadelta just decide "hey takano ill help you out to become good ahahahaha" and Brenkastel and Fredirica are parts of Rika Fredirica still has hope that rika can acheive a happy ending and a mircle while bernkastle Belives there is no such thing as a miricle despite her being the witch of miricles (sorry for not spelling correectly but i russhed this)
@sma77chan No, you're wrong. Higurashi was a game between Featherinne and Lambdadelta, where Featherinne created a Logic Error and Frederica fixed it.
@BernkastelSan But the other BGM appears on the EP8 Music Box first. And the Music Box lists the songs in the order they appear in the game.
Also, there is a Japanese Umineko wiki which is more of a collection of data about the overall visual novel. There's one particular page which lists what BGMs play during each chapter, and the general scene the songs cover. Sure, it's in Japanese, but it's nothing a little knowledge of the language can't handle.
@BernkastelSan You didn't have to say that last thing. Now I don't know if I'll enjoy it as much, especially now knowing that I may have inadvertently hurt you through my rigorous efforts to prove a point that harbors no reward to such an extent that you had to call me a word that can be interpreted as any and all kinds of severity. In other words, I am sad, and I'm sad that you might be sad. ;_;
@BernkastelSan Lastly, I have the VN itself for reference. Lastendconductor begins together with Battler's smackdown on Bern. That definitely takes place after the end of Lambda's battle with Bern.

Guys, Stop trolling,
Satoshi is Voiced by the same Voice actor as Kanon.
Rika and Bernkastel are the same person, So goes it for Takano (34) For Lambdadelta (34).
Oh Some spoiler, Featherine is like Hanyuu, But she isn't~
Frederika IS NOT RIKA OR BERNKASTEL, FREDERIKA IS BERNKASTEL D:
FREDIRIKA BERNKASTEL :3

@StarStareful Tehee :p
SPOILER
Takano and Lambdadelta aren't the same person ^^
Lambdadelta helped Takano in the past, but she has nothing to do with her (except her name)
Rika and Bernkastel aren't really the SAME person. Bernkastel is the representation of endless deads and desespair that Rika feeled.
(So ... In a way, Bern =~ Rika)
For Auau, she's not Hanyuu, it's right. But she is the most powerful witch (I think ?) and Hanyuu is a powerful god :D
