I felt like lookin at some old school wrasslin and i came here. So why is it that i watched this ENTIRE 25 year old clip, laughing cursing, and getting into the entire 8 minutes, when i can't even watch 30 seconds of today's "sports entertainment" ?

15 years past his prime the guy looked better than many guys today, and he may want to be remembered for his in ring ability but he had some serious mic skills.
I'm glad Sammartino never returned to wrestling in any fashion. If he had his way, wrestling wouldn't be any fun. Wrestlers would have no entrances. Babyfaces and heels would never interact except in the ring. It would be one reigning champion for YEARS ON END. I really fail to see how business was good during his time, and I can only come to the conclusion that it's because they didn't know how much it would improve later on.

It's amazing the way Vince has absolutely erased Bruno from the memories of wrestling fans. The man was champion for 11 years, and it's like it never happened. Bruno was one of the biggest stars in wrestling history (he ruled the 60's, 70's and early 80's, especially in the northeast), and Vince has just painted over him.

Hogan and Flair were wrestling's last multiple year world champions. Hogan's first WWE/WWF title reign lasted 4 years. Ric Flair had one title reign that lasted 2 years. I think it was his second or third reign. As much as I wanted Goldberg to be among that elite group his WCW title reign didn't last that long.

Many wrestling fans do not appreciate the fact that you cannot let the FOOLS in the so called "creative department" spoon feed stuff to a wrestler unless you want it to in fact come out as what it is PABLUM. A great wrestler has to project something of himself both in the ring persona and interview/promo-that is true whether the wrestler is a great "worker" or even a "shooter" or maybe not quite so skilled.

It's amazing the way Vince has absolutely erased Bruno from the memories of wrestling fans. The man was champion for 11 years, and it's like it never happened. Bruno was one of the biggest stars in wrestling history (he ruled the 60's, 70's and early 80's, especially in the northeast), and Vince has just painted over him.

But he's never done the same for the man who helped his father get his organization launched, Bruno Sammartino. Bruno may have only held the title twice but in his two title reigns he held it longer than anybody else in WWE/WWF history. The reason many are speculating the Rock and Austin came back was because of money.

@Chrisdrumz HHH's longest title reign was 9 months and that was back in the 1990s. His other title reigns together only lasted months, not years. Hogan and Flair were wrestling's last multiple year world champions. Hogan's first WWE/WWF title reign lasted 4 years. Ric Flair had one title reign that lasted 2 years. I think it was his second or third reign. As much as I wanted Goldberg to be among that elite group his WCW title reign didn't last that long.

Bruno naturaly was bigher then piper and in height proportion he was the same size of hogan in his prime and this was a 50+ year old bruno imagine 20 years before if him and hogan would have been the same hight brouno would have been bigger then hogan.With that in mind bruno was a natural power with noe HGH or steriods in his system.

It's amazing, Bruno retired in 1981 and here in 1985 he's still getting a big crowd reaction. That's why Vince Jr. brought him back, because the attendance in the civic centers was starting to slip during the Hogan era.
