Kone was founded in Finland. Kone means machine, and it's neither pronounced Cone, Conay or Koh-nay. It's funny to see you guys discussing this when you don't have any clue.
It's "Konne". And yes, that is the correct pronunciation. Still not convinced? Call my colleagues at the office, Esbo, Finland and see how they answer the phone.
It's disappointing to see that they still haven't fixed that floor. Otherwise, beautiful motel/hotel and elevator! Kone's are always great except that they have to follow Schindler and make the indicator ahead of itself.
Don't know if you're doing it on purpose, but it's pronounced "Cone", as in "Ice cream cone", not "Co-nay". I know, since I calibrate stuff for them once in awhile (transducers).
TEEHEE!!! EPIC FAIL FLOORING!!! My high school I will be going to next year has floor that has popped up from the floor like that. Bubbles all around the place. This summer the floor is getting replaced.
Who film with you?

So anyway... i prefer videos of the actual machinery in action, not ...
a) Listening to someone talk when what they say just IS NOT interesting
b) Getting motion sick from watching a video recorded in one shot, only with lots of unnecessary movements
c)wWtching you press buttons on videos is about as exciting as this video will ever get
d) Ecodick elevators are the most uninteresting piece of machinery I've ever seen, and fuck the environment :S

No, you are wrong. dieselducy is sayinf it right. it is pronouced KONAY. Lok it up before you start correcting people.
suzzex 2 years ago
Okay, I did "lok" it up, like you said. :)
I'll be damned. The Kone people we do work fo,r call it "Cone", so that's what we stuck with over at work. Thanks for the info!
georgef551 2 years ago
No problem. Careless mistake. I made it too as a matter of fact!
suzzex 2 years ago
There's a slash over the "e" which makes be pronounced as "a", hence the "Konay" pronunciation.
NEXPAR 2 years ago
WRONG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! There was a vid on KONE's website and it was pronounced KONAY!
Ih8escalators 2 years ago
Too late. Someone beat you to it. :)
georgef551 2 years ago
So who the hell are you telling that it's wrong?
NEXPAR 2 years ago
"Koh-nay" is the correct pronunciation since it's Finnish
cubsrule2040 2 years ago
You've been beaten by several.
I thought it was a french word?
Proving ONCE AGAIN, Wiki is not a trust-worthy source....
georgef551 2 years ago
yeah, but KONE is based in Finland, not France
cubsrule2040 2 years ago
So, is KONE, the word, French, or Finnish?
Damn Wiki.....
georgef551 2 years ago
Finnish, like I said. How many times should i answer this question!?
cubsrule2040 2 years ago
Even KONE's website says they're based in Finland.
cubsrule2040 2 years ago
Wow. The thought of actually going to THEIR site would've been on my mind, but guess what?
(DUH!)

Joonatanp99 2 years ago
Well it has no English version (only for the brand)..... for the brand there is only ko-nay. KONE is Finnish for Machine (I think)
