  • I agree with toniwoo7. but i also agree with what some of the others are saying too. never be ashamed of what you believe and where you may have come from originally because the majority of americans originally came from other countries with different beliefs as well.

  • Your vid is popular on Maputo

  • Thank you so very much ladies...I cried not just for 9-11 but for what we are going through now...This means so much to those of us who love America and want her to be the great country she once was again....May the Lord Bless each of you to the fullest....Love ya

  • i think that america should know, at first it was our english & dutch brothers that began this country. later our irish & scottish that filled its ranks. later out african american brother allowed their contributition. late on, our orential & muslim brothers joined our ranks. from europe to japan, we are a melting pot again. we are what the world doesnt want.. we proudly say we are americans old & new. we may be muts in the eyes of the world, but i say we are the best

  • @314Draven Hoora, another person that beleaves out odd motto ," Of Many, ONE"

    Keep believin brother!

  • Oh South America!

  • I'm incredibly upset that I have to watch this and see a no-talent garbage hack like Nicki Minaj on the same screen. (And Willow Smith is only a step above her). They don't deserve to be in the same galaxy as the talent of these women.

  • @ilikepepsi3883

i agree with you...they ruined everything *sigh*

  • Wow this totched mw

  • rip ww2

  • OMG! Grateful, thankful. Our hearts were broken/fractured, like the Tower's. That song, heard it & for the first time, allowed me to CRY. The WORLD got hurt that day.

Was humming that in a store, thought I was alone. Got the biggest hug from the clerk. The "LOOK" we shared. That song the Celtic Woman sang, will forever be with us.

Thank you, Thank you, from America!

  • Lynn is amazing, and definitely one of the most beautiful women I've ever seen!

  • lynn's voice & smile are amazing

  • I have some difficulty to understand these (wonderful) celtic women... :(

  • the girl at the beginnng looks like Chole's sister

  • You know, this song always makes all teary-eyed and insanely patriotic... I've always been a huge fan of Celtic Woman, and this may be one of there most beautiful songs yet (and I'm not just saying that because I'm American).

    This song is just...

    Beautiful.

  • I dedicate this song to all the men and women who lost their lives in WW2 and to everyone who has lost their life or their loved ones.

  • Beautyful Just Beautyful!

  • they were singing this song so do the America repent in everything they have done wrongly to the nation... hehehehee joks joks.... : )

  • Oh God! PERFECT SONG'

  • @RingBearer1992

I'm from USA and hear other countries' anthems and feel the same way a lot of the time! It's great to feel the soul of a nation through a song even if you have never been or even understand them. :)

  • I dedicated this to all my fellows veterans . may god bless you all

  • One of the most beautiful songs about America, I hope every American gets a chance to listen to it.

  • My class is doing a concert on this song... So beautiful. So glad. O, america... I WILL be true to thee. ^^

  • We are doing this for our Veteran's Day Program this Friday. Thsi song really moves me. I hope they like it.

  • This really makes me appreciate all the allies we have in this war-torn world. Thank you Celtic Women, and thank you Ireland.

  • As a proud American this song touches my heart. God bless every friendly country out there. Yes were not perfect. But look around at your own countries. Also NEVER be ashamed of your heritage. Embrace it and love it. It is your heritage weather you like it or not. Also in most cases people died to make it the way it is. I love other cultures and countries, sometimes even think they are better in some areas then my own country, but I NEVER ever doubt my love for my country and would die for her.

  • @tommy192771 I couldn't agree more with your comment. :c)

  • i'm from the uk and this song for some reason has given me a lump in my throat.....

  • She sings: Oh America you're calling. I can hear you're calling me. You are calling me to be true to thee, True to yee, I will be..." I wish I were american..........

  • I love my country, and this piece really touches my heart! Awesome stuff!

  • Does she say "O America you call me, I will NEVER answer thee." ??? 3:30 i love this song except for that part.... not sure what they're saying.

  • @2ndamendments I would imagine there is some hidden meaning there; it seems to me that if that really meant what it sounded like, there would be some major controversy over it, so I am sure it's not what it sounds like.

  • @2ndamendments It was EVER answer thee.....I just listened to it again.....

  • @OneWiccanHighPriest I hope you're right. it's an excellent song. So, i'm going to assume you're right.

  • @2ndamendments....Nope thats NOT what it says...The lyrics are "I will EVER answer thee.."

  • @2ndamendments

It's " O America you call me, I will EVER answer thee." ...meaning "I will always answer thee ":-)

  • 6 people don't know what America is...

  • less adverts more music please

  • Growing up after 9/11 with my father in the retired reserves I hate the big anniveries like last month but This song means the world to me.

  • this should be are new national anthem.

  • @FreeSlaveWard I LOVE THAT IDEA!

  • @ChannelThatHasRandom i fill a lot more patriotic when i here this song than when i here the national anthem.

  • so beautyfull! everytime i listen it, i get tears in my eyes! when a song can do that, then you can say that's a wonderfull song...

  • Wow, it's amazing..

    It's so Wonderfull.....

  • This is one of my favorites by them. this is from last years christmas special they did. if you hear the album Songs From The Heart the "and" that you talk about is also on the album. when i saw them perform this live it was Chloe who sang the "and". my other favorite is New Ground / Isle of Hope

  • @crofthaven PS if i remember correctly the piano player / the director was the one who wrote this.

  • @crofthaven...Close..2 Irishmen did right this song but it wasn't David Downes...

    Music: William Joseph

    Words: Brendan Graham

  • Im In 7th grade and im singing this for chior.I really Like this song!

  • Moving

  • woow,, on 2:20 or 2:21 someone sings ''and'' but the rest don't.. and i can't find it in the lyrics to... but nevermind

  • @san18ful...Here are the lyrics from that time frame...it's plain the word "And" is there...

    O, America I hear you,

From your prairies to the sea,

From your mountains grand, and all through this land,

    You are beautiful to me.

    And… O, America you’re calling,

I can hear you calling me:

You are calling me to be true to thee,

True to thee I will be.

  • woow, it is weird for me as a big fan of celtic woman but i really never had seen this one... amazing

  • Moving... simply moving...

  • Moving... simply moving...

  • This song is so beautiful. My grandfather was from Scotland, and we had this played at his funeral because we felt that it reflected his own personal story and how he felt about America. I really miss him.

  • This is one of the most inspiring songs i have ever heard! Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful voices with the world! I Love this Songg!!

  • God bless America is a free country and a better country.

I am Russian and I am ashamed of this I'm going to America!

  • @MrAndreyca It's great that you like America. I love it as well. However, even when you do come to America that doesn't mean you should be ashamed of your original country. It's possible to be proud to be an American and of where you came from. Most countries are flawed, including America (as people love to point out to us), and I'm sure there are plenty of nice aspects to Russia. Besides, it doesn't matter where you came from. That's no reason to be ashamed.

  • @221knot so many people don't know tanzania and think 'did you ride zebras -_o?"

    and 'do you speak afircan?"

  • @221knot It does matter where you came from, because every part of that has made you what you are. You should be proud of who you are and where you came from for making you who you are.

  • My thoughts are with the people of America on this sad weekend. Love from Ireland.

  • @GoingMad166 Thank you so much, it's people like you who make this world a better place

  • @GoingMad166 Thank you :)

  • Who is that woman in the center of the screen behind the gentlemen in the white jacket? She looks beautiful. And even listening to it for the 8th time today I still love this song.

  • @CowboyDiplomacy..???? what man in white jacket..there was no one onstage in a white jacket....

  • @gaeilge1O1 In the VERY beginning when it's showing the audience.

  • @CowboyDiplomacy...No idea...just an audience member...

  • Dear 9ore: Thanku for your heartfelt words of love, encouragement, and support. Our nation doesnt always get it right, but we perservere. The world would be a mightier place if all of us would be as kind as you seem to be. May god bless you for the rest of your life, precious one.

  • @gaeilge101, thank you for the kind and thoughtful words. I absolutely love this song, brings a tear to my eye every time I listen to it. Looking forward to seeing Celtic Woman in concert this December! I hope they perform this song.

  • @johnmcfarm....The "symphony" tour will be a Christmas Celebration with the emphasis on Christmas songs...but I don't rule out that they may sing this song somewhere in the mix....The particular songs haven't been announced yet...It seems that David Downes and the "higher ups" like to keep things a secret till th end...

The U.S. and Ireland have a rich history together, you took us in when many fled Ireland, you were one of the first to recognize our independence...Our prayers are with you...

  • The members and crew of Celtic Woman want to extend their heartfelt condolences and our thanks to the people of the United States as the 10 year anniversary of the 9/11 disaster approches...

  • Too bad it lipsynched :-( I really wanted to hear this live.

  • @lisariya..Nothing lipsynced here....This performance was live..it was recorded at the time of the performance for the TV special and DVD....Don't let a well known You Tube problem make you think this is lipsynced....

  • @gaeilge1O1 aha, I didn't know! Did they sing it anywhere else live then? I'd love to hear this song live!!

  • @lisariyal...This song has become a standard for CW to sing in every performance on the U.S. tours...

  • @lisariya Ive seen them live...and they sound even more astonishing. I never believed that they were actually singing until I saw it, heard their breathing in between verses...and watched the hairs fly off of the solo violinists bow and resin powder fly off the fiddle as she tore through one of her songs like a beast. THAT was rediculous. I wonder how many bows and blocks of resin she goes through in one concert series lol

  • Bein a military wife has made me appreciate being an American even more than b4........i am so proud of my country and i don't think i could be preouder than our boys over seas even the ones in our states!!! So others may live!!!!

  • SO BEAUTIFUL....

  • @9ore. Hooah. Thank you for those words!

  • My choir is doing a "Born to be..." concert, and for our "Born to Be Free" song, we're dong O America. It really is a beautiful song, especially when a choir sings it :)

  • I feel like for most of the song, when they're all singing together, Lisa is the one I can hear the most.

  • Ok, everyone that hates America, we are well on our way to no longer being. Thank you for allowing this to happen. We save the world and it stands idly by while Obama attacks our very character. I am sad.

  • @oldvlc Sad but oh way too true!

  • @lmesiuol While what I said is true, I see the moderators have removed many of the offensive blame America first posts. In that light, I feel better about the comments here now. I love my country and always have. I will have none of this "we have made mistakes" and the like prefacing otherwise wonderful comments.

  • @oldvlc Don't give up. Travel around as I have done, talk to people--- the core is alive.

There is no force that can stand against the idea of freedom. Difficult times ahead, yes.

Meanwhile, enjoy the beauty of the music, the talent of the musicians and singers.

  • ME GUSTARIA QUE FUERAN A SUR AMÉRICA Y PASARAN POR CHILE *u*

  • I am touched by the song, though I am an Asian. I pray that America will rebound from all its setbacks. May their forefathers' esteemed ideals and virtues be instilled once more in the heart and consciousness of every American. God bless America

  • Look at these people, they are smiling and crying at the same time. Just like me. But there's nothing to be ashamed. :P

  • this song makes me cry, always. love it.

  • Chloe's voice has developed such an amazing range! Jealooous! She's definitely one of my main vocal role models. I wonder how much she practices.

  • This is lovely and makes me proud to be from the USA. My country may have flaws, and we may be detested for some of the actions that we take, but I will always be proud :)

  • 0:35 chloe's eyes are enchanting....

  • follow Chloe Agnew on Twitter @ChloeAgnew plzzzzzzzzzz!!! thanks xxxxxxx

  • I want this entire concert on DVD. WHERE CAN I GET IT!?!?!?!

  • @ArodWingfoot. You can try amazon.com "Celtic Woman-Songs From the Heart" Unfortunately, Alex's "You'll Be In My Heart" and Lynn's "Carolina Rua" aren't in the DVD due to some sort of copywrite thing.

  • @sanjuro66 Copywrite BS!

  • @ArodWingfoot I will say just one thing about copyright infringement: Celtic Woman would not exist if the organization did not make money doing what it does.

  • @oldvlc That's obvious.

  • Happy 4th of July, may God Bless America.

  • Ref the question did my Grand dad ask me to write my comment above!

For Heavens sake NO.I am 76 years of age! Both G/Dads were long dead by 1940.WW11 was a time which I lived through having been born in 1934.I was fully aware of what was going on and new all about the appalling losses suffered by the Allied Forces and Merchant Navies. I have since read many books and studied the subject in great depth. Once again I repeat, Thank you America

  • racism is a word that means you can't do nothing while your country is being invaded and destroyed, your race is dieing, your culture is dissapearing and minorities are taking over and implementing their culture, religion(like muslims who are expansionist and want sharia for example)?and conquering our lands to their races, with the magic word ''racism''you get terrified, you lose all your logic with fear of being badly seen in society even if the consequences are a disaster,STOP WHITE GENOCIDE!

  • Comment removed

  • @Storyboardbrasil multiculturalism=white genocide, both cultural and racial destruction of all our heritage so no,i don't respect invaders of my ancient country!i don't accept the disgosting expansionist totalitarian(and many more disgosting stuff) religion called Islam,i don't accept the theory that we can live all together, history proved you are wrong, from Yugoslavia to Ottomans or to the failed soviet union, fromczeskslovakia to colonial empires,WE JUST LOSE!why the hell should i accept it?

  • Comment removed

  • @Storyboardbrasil..Well the person who wrote this song said it is specifically for the U.S.(America)....Don't be confused by the name "America"...when people over hear speak of America we man the United State of AMERICA!!!

  • Hope they sing this in Glasgow in September when I see them. But there will be tears flowing from my eyes if they do. Love them.

  • CELTIC WOMAN IN 3 WORDS:

    Heartwarming - Breathtaking - Otherworldly

  • They are not human and unnatural. They have to be from another planet. Simply angels that can hynotize us with one breath.

  • great song .....from hong kong!

  • Simply breathe taking. Brought me to tears. These women have gorgeous voices. I hope they remain together for many years to come.

  • Omg the part of the drummer with the fireworks shoot in the background gave me goosebumps; such an iconic American image. And Chloe is so beautiful and flawless!!! She's my favorite!

  • what a great great song.... from ireland.

  • Amen

  • i dont want to break this group but want to say lisa is very cuteeee & beautiful waiting for more from them

  • Thank you America for sending our sons and daughters into a war with and for a people they never knew and met. Thank you for protecting me and my country. God Bless America!

    -Korean War 1950-53

  • thank you America for helping Croatia in the Croatian war for independence (91-95)

  • I am an Indonesian but unlike most of my countrymen, I respect America, I Respect all US army, marine, navy, air force and all America who fight for the right of peoples for freedom.....

I realize without America , Indonesia will never be free at the time of WW2

And I despise to those who hate USA and to those who curse America

America is the land of freedom, hope and liberty....

I salute and honor America with all my Heart

God Blessyou and Be with You America..... Always be With You

  • @9ore I can't thank you enough. I think we're all in the world together, and I don't believe in patriotism because of that. All of us who were born here won the birth lottery. We've done bad things to many countries and lots of people hate us for this. But reading about your admiration put more tears in my eyes than this song. Elisabeth

  • @9ore Thank you. We here in America have given so much to so many that we have forgotten ourselves. It really means so much to know that someone in the world will stand up and say thank you. God Bless You.

  • BEAUTIFUL TRIBUTE

  • PLEASE WATCH THE O AMERICA 9/11 TRIBUTE!

  • I got a video i made with this song i think you all will like! here is the link...

  • This song gave me hope. As an American, I know our country is flawed, we've made mistakes, we're not perfect, far from it. But we have so much potential. In just over 200 years, we have risen from a small band of villages and colonies to a vast and glorious nation. We have built ourselves up so high, dreams never imagined have been brought to life, and have freedoms that other would sell their souls for. We are not perfect, but we endevour to try to be what our forefathers imagined for us.....

  • @centurion205 really? honestly? your forefathers are rolling in their graves...

  • @mgblue Look, you can criticize us all you want. But I have always been proud of this nation from the day of my birth to the day that I die. Yeah we've screwed up, a lot. But then again, what fucking nation hasn't in the last 300 years? I dare you to show me one single nation in the modern world that is pure, and perfect, and hasn't made any fucking mistakes in their entire history. Your sorry as won't be able to answer that one because there is no perfect nation on the planet. PERIOD !!!

  • @centurion205 ofc there isnt but you nation has caused world war 3...you have no idea the impact it is having and will have in the future and your proud of that? your an idiot

  • @mgblue I'm here trying to listen to wonderful music and watch these beautiful ladies show off their amazing talent, and you wanna start an online fight? And for what? To express your "enlightened" opinion? Get over yourself and listen to the music..... damn.......

  • @centurion205 erm no just wanted to let you know what i thought of your ignorant opinions, if you want to enjoy the music stop messaging back?

    Mark

  • @armaggedon4christ

    Thanks for the translation

because few people can make some effort to translate;)

I wrote that America is a dream.

New York, Dallas, Denver, Chicago ... Rio de Janeiro and other sites in South America Places of interest for me as a Czech for Americans to turn around our interesting castles and palaces from different centuries.

Everyone has a tribute to something;)

once again thanks for the translation

(perhaps my překald will be good:))

  • America, today needs you all more than ever. The war on terror is bankrupting America and as an American Veteran I fear how much longer we can go on fighting. Our national deficit has hit 15 Trillion and the worlds faith in our economy is faltering. If America falls, you all will stand alone to fight the war on terror. Never give up hope on America, we are strong and as Americans we will come out of this one way or another. Remember what we represent and how much we have helped in the past.

  • We are singing this in my church choir:D It's such a beautiful song!

  • Pretty aggressive keyboarding 3:17 lol

  • Comment removed

  • wow, amazing u guys have the angelic voices.. i really wish that i could sing like you guys. keep up the good job.. God bless

  • The beauty, success, and richness of the United States of America is due to the fact that it was founded by Northern European Protestants. For proof that it matters, take a look at the countries in the Western Hemisphere that were settled by Spanish and Portuguese Catholics. The U.S. and Canada are what they are because of who founded them.

  • i LOVE celtic women

  • Does Celtic Woman EVER sing live?

Or are ALL of their "concerts" just lip-syncing?

I've seen several of their specials, and not one of them were actually sung.

  • @macconnell100 the concerts are live, I been to two of them so far, and the same songs were slightly different in both.

and when Lynn was still with them, there was one occasion she came in with wrong note.

  • @TimLugia

Yeah. And on one of the 'behind-the-scenes' videos, it shows Lisa and Lynn performing. The power went out a few minutes into their performance and the singing didn't stop. You could still slightly hear them, which means they were singing, and they were singing loudly. If they didn't sing live, you wouldn't have heard them singing at all.

  • @kelceejofarra...Thank you, you are exactly right....

  • @kelceejofarra, Yup, and when the power went out, I loved hearing Chloe call out to the audience, "Does anyone have a torch?" It was nice to hear her sense of humor staying nicely intact despite the pressure of performing live on-stage.

  • @macconnell100 The ones you see on you-tube are all preformed live. I own the DVDs and on you-tube the voices are slightly out of sync. You can tell that these songs are preformed live because you can hear them breathing. in pre-recorded versions you cannot hear the people breathing because the recording programs will 'sift' through the audio.

  • @macconnell100 I saw them perform in Appleton, WI last summer, and not only do they sing live, their performances are nothing short of amazing!!!!

  • Crimen Sollicitationis

  • If I was American Id Cry hearing this how Beautiful....Wait a second I am Crying :)

    Fantastic Performace Ladies just Fantastic

  • @RichysBikeWorld I did cry the first time I heard it. I wonder if this is what my great-grandfather felt after WW2.

  • I wish they can perform this song on a major game here, or on Veteran's day..

  • UK tour dates announced

Fri Sept 16,2011 Glasgow Royal Concert Hall

Sat Sept 17,2011 York Barbican Centre

Sun Sept 18,2011 Manchester Bridgewater Hall

Mon Sept 19,2011 Birmingham Symphony Hall

Tue Sept 20,2011 London Theatre Royal Drury Lane

  • the fireworks makes this like the 4th of July!

    a truly moving magnificent song.

  • The trumpet at the beginning is BEAUTIFUL

  • can this be our new national anthem? kthxbai.

  • 6 People are just jealous they can't sing or be beautiful like this.
