What I can say is that this movie really enlightened me on aspects of the Jewish heritage that I was unaware of. My unintentional ignorance clouded my view of a beautiful culture. Now, to say I base Judaism entirely on a musical is ridiculous... but it has definitely shown me that even once perceived "ugly" cultures, can have just as much beauty as any other. The breaking of the glass is symbolic -- shows how fragile marriage can be - so the couple should strive to work together to keep it safe.
