I think it's very fitting that the golfer with arguably the best short game in the world holes the longest putt ever recorded. Ofcourse this putt was a fluke but Dave Pelz knows almost everything there is to know about golf from 100 yards and in. I wish I did because I am a 12 handicap at the moment but still take 4 to hole out from 30 yards away on occasion.

He would have mastered it so well to get it in say, 4ft, and just happened to sink it on that particular stroke.

i honestly do think this was the first take, the camera was rolling because he was shooting a little clip for the golf channel showing the sheer length of the greens, how you would go about it etc. something like that and i also dont think they would let him stay on the greens for that many takes. just my opinion

fireflies you are correct. It was at the 2004 PGA at Whistling Straights on the 18th green. It was live on the Golf Channel and he made it on his 1st try!!!

They reduced the size of the green because too many pros complained that it was too big and may leave them with the same put. V J Sigh won that year.

@Theoneputter The kind of stroke that you use for such a putt is called the "chipputt" stroke. You set up like for a putt but you allow a little shifting of weight during the stroke and let your wrists break a bit. Good luck with that.
