  • hey can u help do i need to put a new engine and if yes what kind or do i gest but turbo i want more speed then 75mph id like to get close to 100mph thx

  • Im happy I have a South Cali 84 K5........ZERO rust ....looks like 2 years old underneath!.....Nice job on your steel fab!

  • interiors EXACTLY like mine, 84, i just put in a brand new crate 350 in.. mines gorgeous, 6 inch lift, check it out on my channel

  • i love your truck i have an 87 that needs work to it but she is just sitting for the time to much stufff happend for me to work on it or now. hopefully it will come as good as yours did when its done.

  • 1986 K5 Blazer update - Due to the economy going south and me being in the construction industry and problems with the motor the blazer has been sitting for 2-3 years . I've sold some parts off from it. and started to rip the motor out blah, blah. I'm in the process of buying a house with a 2 bay garage. After that goes through I'm going to restart this project. I plan on redoing the paint to a metallic blue. Go through the motor and see whats wrong with it. I'll post updates ASAP.

  • @adamjed22

Glad to see you still have it

  • I got a question I am also rebuilding my K5 and I was wondering when you put the carpet in did you put Insulation down? and what glue did you use to put the carpet down...it be a big help if you helped me.

  • @Lukethebeast101 .......Yes I used......SILVER FOIL BUBBLE WRAP INSULATION you can get it at Lowe's or Home depot......I got my carpet from lowes.....no glue it just lays down. Seats and trim hold it down

  • Don't you think it would have been easier to use the old floor as a template for the new one so you didn't have to take as much time or work making the new floor from scratch...?

  • @tharrington11 Easier said then done......the old one was rusty and rotted plus I didn't use a spot weld bit to cut the spots weld on the floor so it came out in chunks

  • Man I love this video

  • it looks like you invested alot of effort man, if you would invest in a spray gun that paint job would be spot on, the rest of the truck looked good, but cutting corners is never cool lol cool project though

  • @bigbadbronco86 - I used a spray gun the problem is I used a product called Rust bullet. Rust-bullet is a HIGHLY Anti-rust paint. Awesome product. But it is not a good product to be used when painting main body parts. Yes it looks ok but if you after a High end paint job it's not the best product to go with.........

  • @adamjed22 - ..........Also there is problems with spraying on the clear coat. I match the best clear coat I could find with it but it ended up piling about a year ago. At this time this truck is just sitting. It took a back seat when the Economy went south. I'm a self-employed flooring contractor, that should tell you the rest. I'm either going to part it out or try and hold onto it until I buy my house later on this year. If I do I will tear this truck right down to the frame.

  • @adamjed22 well adam . i say u should open up a body shop ! . lol how much do u want to put a new floor in my k5 .

  • @darren107 I have enough Irons in the fire. haha I'll take a $1500 + materials haha The hard part is removing the old floor and bending the steel down where the drop off is in front of the back seat. ohh yeah the tail gate post suck too.

  • @adamjed22 bring it over to my bodyshop i wil fix you right up

  • nice man , i got an 82 im starting on, did you buy the floor panels or did you fabricate most of them?

  • Everything was hand bent and cut to size from 4'x8' sheets. It was a fun project

  • as far as interior parts, what did you use or recommend, im pretty much redoing everything, push button for ignition and toggles for everything else except what is already left stock

  • its nice when people fix these trucks up i love em i got 2 of em

  • nice k5 man im paniting mine black to

  • how hard was it to install the floor shifter could you let me know what you had to do to get it installed and which floor shifter you went with.

  • dang bro u did this in 3 months?? looks good

  • Well, are you tearing everything out? front pan rear pan sub frame, tailpan?

  • im tearing out everything under the cap. like the bed of it. im patching up front in the cab where the seats are

  • hi, im 16 and i just ripped out the seats, carpet, padding, panneling, everything down to bare metal and im getting ready to weld up a new floor... how did you get the old floor out, should i cut it or un bolt it and man handle it? and what did you do about the bolt holes for the seats and seat belts and latch for the back seat, drill it out and weld a bolt on the bottom side?

  • ive never worked on a K5, but to take out a floorpan, drill out all the spot welds first. then take a putty knife an hammer (or an air chisel) and seperate. just be careful not to tear the holes or you'll have to weld them shut when you go to weld the new floor in.

  • that would be awesome. i do want it.

  • I spent between $500 and $600 on it.....that includes welding wire rust bullet and metal. I have a tech article I wrote up on my computer if you want it.

  • @adamjed22

yes all the supports and floor panels. yeah if you have that article and some pics that would be awesome

  • how much do you think the cost of the metal was for the floor? rough estimate

  • The floor is awesome......feel bad for the person that ever runs into the truck though. haha

  • how do you like that 1/8 in steel floor? im thinking about doing that to my k5. any advice?

  • needs bigger tires

  • Sweet motor brah!!!!

  • badass dude! I really need to get mine going. Once I get enought money, after the body repairs, and new floor pans. its interior time! I love your truck man, and good song too.

  • that thing is badass man, what tires are you running? and any lift?

  • There just 31 Inch tires.....No lift....too tell you the truth the truck has been sitting for a year. I start it up every once and awhile to get the fluids moving. I'm not sure if I'm going to keep it.......I used Rust bullet to paint it and used a regular clear coat....BAD IDEA it's pilling in a few places.....plus my new Mallory Dizzy crapped out on me so now I'm fouling plugs. So much to do so little time

  • sorry to hear about that, and yeah i have the same problem except also with the added factor of lack of money. but its all worth it once you finally get it runnin and are killing the streets

  • Put the GM HEI Distributor back in it. You get the same performance but twice the reliablility as the aftermarket crap! Good work though I have 2 blazers, my 78 is completely rotten though :(

  • BLS FTW

  • lmao.

  • CLIFF IT

  • The name of the song is Fire it up by Black Label Society.

  • Thanks

whats the song name if you dont mind

  • That is clean and nice i want to redo mine im in the proces look at it when you get a chance its alot diff already but check it out some time

  • what is the song in this video where did u buy all these extras like the custum stuff the grill the chrome strip i've never seen black chevy door panels did u die them

  • new wheels and tires needed more gloss to paint and non sliding one piece rear windows. other than that nice

  • i painted my blazer with tremclad.. looks good.. no one could tell .lol. i want a strip of chrome along the bodom of the door like yours.. where did you get that?>

  • grate resto m8 nice work love the video

  • I like it!

  • Yeah I know I only have about $5,000 into it.

  • U really fixed that Blazer up good.
